I love this player the picture quality is awesome.

The disk drive is a desires feature that works well!

The player has the industries best technology features

Seems to glitch during playback, at least once during each movie and although my TV is the same brand, I don't think they "talk" well with each other. Didn't go through the motions of returning, but not sure I would purchase again.

LG IS A GOOD PRODUCT. HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT

Only complaint is that it isn't in Logitech database yet.

Now my three star review is because I’ve tried multiple hdmi cords and the picture comes up then cuts the image in half. I have to unplug the hdmi then it fixes the image back to normal it’s a hassle.

The player I got was not fully serviceable. Playing BR discs was good, it has e-ac3 codec installed and was able to play the files the other players were unable to read audio. But when working via Internet (YouTube) the image twitched and synchronously a part of sound (entire words of speech) dropped out. I returned the player and got the refund. Probably I just wasn't lucky enough.

I did not want to spend a lot, so I got this. There is no front display, so not the easiest to see if it is playing. Impressed that there is audio only hdmi output so you can play cd’s.

Title pretty much sums it up. Brand new, popped in a 4k disc and encountered a horrible LOUD buzzing/humming sound while the disc plays, excessive vibration of the unit also. It doesn't stop until you stop playing. Tried another disc, same. Tried a couple regular Blu-rays, no issues. Tried a couple more 4ks, back to the buzzing and vibration. Guess I could spend hour on the phone with tech support to accomplish absolutely nothing - nah, back it goes. (Too bad can only post photos not videos here - you'd suspect I was running a vacuum cleaner just out of frame it is so loud.)

I can't stand the GUI. For whatever reason LG decided to make the GUI so barebones that there ARE NO APPS FOR THIS DEVICE. It comes with two "premium" apps: Netflix and Youtube. It plays 4k discs but that's all it really does well. I would not recommend this to anyone since it's supposed to be emerging technology yet comes with so little entertainment software it's ridiculous. There are DVD players that come with more functionality than this overpriced brick.

This would be a 5-star blu-ray player, if it didn't make a loud buzzing noise when it plays certain 4k blu-rays. I'm not sure what causes it, but on certain disks it just makes a very loud buzzing noise. I sent it off to repair and they didn't even fix the issue. I did some reseasrch online and I guess it's a semi-common issue. I wish they'd work the bugs out of this player, because other than that it's been fantastic.

This DVD Player is okay but could have a little more weight to it. It seems to be make with cheap, thin plastic if there is such a thing. It can be easily broken. Must be careful inserting DVDs.

There’s also a UBK80 which is a more affordable option. But keep in mind, UBK90 supports Dolby vision while the more affordable option UBK80 does not. Along with the support of Dolby Vision, with the UBK90 it has 2 HDMI ports while the UBK80 only has 1. Unlike the UB970, the UBK90 comes with Dolby Vision support right out of the box. Along with Dolby Vision support, the UBK90 of course supports HDR10. With the UBK90, you’re going to need a 4K TV. I would definitely and highly recommend: LG - 65" Class - OLED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR (OLED65C8PUA) With the combo of the UBK90 paired with the OLED65C8PUA, you’re going to experience superb HDR quality, perfect images, beautiful colors, and extravagant blacks. Movies that I played are insane! I feel like one of those kids in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when something new gets presented to me. With the UBK90, you’ll also be able to use the built-in apps to stream your favorite content. With a built-in media player, it’ll support a range of different file formats. What this means is that you can pop in a USB and enjoy your content on the UBK90. If you’re a Dolby Atmos and DTS:X fan, you’ll be glad to know that the UBK90 and the UBK80 support them both (along with a range of other audio formats). Oh! By the way, if you have any of your favorite DVDs, CDs, or 3D Blu-Rays; go ahead and pop them into the UBK90 as well because it supports those. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to purchase the UBK90. I would definitely recommend it to a friend/co-worker. Get the UBK90 and pair it with the OLED65C8PUA, you will not be disappointed.
