It didn’t want to talk to the LG tv , it kept making the sound squeak,would not play all the dvds, taking it back.

Died after 14 months. Doesn't recognize any disc that is inserted.

after a little over a year will no longer connect to my tv.

Died after warranty was up. I only played 5 dvds. So sad!

try answering the phone, and returning messages as promised.

The disk drawer would not open. Definitely not worth the extra cost for the unit.

Wouldn't recommend this item to anyone..... Very low end.

This is a great Blu-ray player. Very easy to set up. The wifi capability did not thrill me because we already have that capability on the tv. Gives a nice picture and even makes regular definition dvds look great. You will notice much more improvement if you already have a 4k tv to go with this device. I did purchase the 4k hdmi cable but do not think that it made a difference.

A solid 4K Blu-ray player that hasn't skipped or glitched out from my experience. The picture quality is excellent as is the audio. It comes with Dolby Vision out of the box without the need for any firmware updates to get it but keep this in mind- *** You have to have a TV that supports Dolby Vision *AND* being playing Dolby Vision content to experience Dolby Vision. Right now the options for both are limited. For TVs without Dolby Vision, it will still play HDR content. The great thing about this player is that it comes with a Netflix app that supports Dolby Vision content. So if you have a Netflix account, you can view some videos that are available in Dolby Vision such as Stranger Things. Supports 4K blu-ray, regular blu-ray, DVDs, and audio CDs. It does NOT support VCDs. I checked just out of curiosity and it won't work. Pros: Excellent picture and audio quality. Supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Reliable playback. Quick, clean interface. Netflix app that comes with it supports Dolby Vision content. Able to play video and audio files from its front panel USB port. Cons: Remote has a limited angle for line of sight. If you don't have the remote pointed right at it, it won't respond. Limited streaming options- Only has Netflix and YouTube as of 6/18/2018. Front panel USB port doesn't support .MOV files. If you're looking for a no-hassle 4K UHD Blu-ray player this is a great one to get, especially if your TV supports Dolby Vision. Just do NOT get the blu-ray for the retail $299. Then I don't think it's worth it. Get it at $249 or cheaper.

I bought the UBK90 on special with 3 4K blue-ray disks and the logitech 665. It's a good deal although the jury is still out about the 665... This is the first stand alone DVD player that I have purchased and the installation was incredibly easy. One HDMI 2.0 cable and AC. The controls are very intuitive and easy to navigate from the TV/Main Display via the LG remote. I've played the 3 4k Blue-Rays down graded to 1080p without a problem and played my original copy of the black and white DVD copy of Dr. Strangelove upgraded by this player without an issue. All were a fun view and very sharp. Plug and play with minimum planned obsolescence at this price point is a very good thing. Maybe I should have only given the UBK90 only 4 stars, but after all of these decades plug and play counts for a lot as I started to play with computers before DOS...

I liked this player so much it replaced my theater room player. The transport controls are on the face, not on top. They're easy to see and are raised for a good tactile experience. It's nice to able to see which button you're pressing even in a dim entertainment console. The boot up is nice and fast, and the user home screen is set up well with an intuitive look and feel. It actually has a little weight to it as well which gives it a solid feel. While I don't have a 4K monitor, I plan to buy one in the future and wanted a player that could accommodate my system now and the system I intend to have in the future. 4K discs play beautifully to my plasma monitor and the colors are inviting and clean. Full motion looks good and I didn't notice any lag or edge problems. I did have one glitch with the playback on one disc. It froze during playback. Actually, the player just stopped playback, the controls on the player all still worked and I was able to restart it, but it shouldn't have happened. It's 3D capable which is a nice feature since I have lot's of 3D discs that I love to watch. It's also able to decode all the highest quality audio codecs from Dolby and DTS, so have no fear there. Streaming features worked well and were also quite fast. I was surprised to find that there are no DLNA features that I could find on the player which means if you like to use your player to stream music, photos or videos from a network drive, you'll have to figure out some other way to do it. That was disappointing. As far as movie watching, I love this player. It looks beautiful on my plasma monitor and is able to play a lot of different formats. Aside from the one freeze issue I experienced, I really like this player.

I already have an Sony UBP-X800 but wanted a Dolby Vision compatible Player. This player is excellent. The picture quality is superb and the Dolby Vision / Dolby Atmos on e.g. Justice League, Mission Impossible Fallout is the best, I use it with an OLED LG 55" Curved screen. I already use a Harmony Ultimate and was able to substitute the UBK90 for another Sony player. I had one freeze which recovered and was fixed by cleaning the disk. Definitely reccomend.

Recently bought a new 4k TV so had to pick up a player to go with it. This is leaps and bounds better then the Xbox One S as a player. If you have the choice I say pick up a standalone player you wont regret it. Set up was pretty easy and the interface is ok and easy to use. Lack of apps if your looking for that.

This is my first standalone 4K player. I had been using my xbox one as a 4k player for months. While that serviced just fine, I did not want to put wear and tear on that unit when I mainly use it for gaming. So now I have this LG player. I will say that the disc tray pop out/close feature is super quiet and smooth. Also I can barely tell that a disc is inside spinning. Very quiet unit overall. Loads up movies fast and gets you watching them in no time. The remote is medium sized and functions well. I also like that there are 2 HDMI ports on the back of the unit and a USB port on the front. The one issue I will address is the clunky outdated LG menus. I have an old LG blu ray player, and I hated the menu it had. Seemed like it was from the beginning days of blu ray even though the player itself was fairly new. Well why do I bring that up? Because this 4K player which cost nearly $300 has the SAME clunky outdated LG menus. Come on guys, At least put a little TLC into your menus. They are horrible. Yes they get the job down, but they could be alot more user friendly. Good overall unit. Would recommend.

Amazing 4K Player,Dolby Vision looks VERY VERY GOOD. Looks like they fixed all the problems that the UP97O Had. NOMORE Freezing or Jet Engine noises. Love this player they hit a Home run with this.

I've had this player for over three years now and it's been perfect. So many other players and consoles will give you various issues or are missing features, but this one has been perfect for me. I first had it paired with an LG C7 and now use an LG C1. I have a Denon receiver for all the latest surround sound features as well and this player just simply works. Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision features work flawlessly and it was just exactly what I was hoping for.

I recently purchased a 4k TV and have doing nothing but stream 4k content via youtube and Vuduu. But I wanted to see how a hard 4k disc would look on the TV, so I decided to get a 4k Blu-Ray player. I was not disappointed. I immediately purchased Spiderman Homecoming and tested it out. Wow! It looked fantastic. I adjusted my TV settings for a movie based on a popular calibration website and everything looked fantastic. The Blu-Ray looked way better than anything that I have ever streamed on the TV. And this is not the only feature of it. I then took the time to setup my Vuduu account on the device after connecting to internet via a direct hard line to my router. I was streaming my movie collection in no time with a blazing fast connection that had no issues. I would say the streaming on this device is very good, if not flawless. Overall I really love this 4k Blu-Ray player as it does everything it is supposed to, and it does it well!

This is one of the better 4k players ive seen or owned. Its not the newest model, but for the money it is well worth it. Better than more expensive models I compared.

The picture is very good but honestly not a huge heap with a good Blu-ray player and a 4K TV. I have a LG OLED 55" and a Samsung Blu-ray player and when compared the picture was not that much different even with adjusting the settings. I kept the player because of the Dolby Atmos is amazing! I connected it to my sound bar that also supports Dolby Atmos and WOW!! The sound fills the room and almost like having a theater experience at home. I think it is worth it more for the room filling sound than the picture quality.
