DON'T BUY!!!

Had for 4 months, not a single day that I didn't get repeatedly kicked off wi-fi connection! At first I thought it was unreliable wi-fi signal, but same connection works faultlessly on my smartphone and tablet. WASTE OF MONEY!

Avoid at all costs!

We went out of town for several weeks, and then I hooked it up and almost immediately had problems with the Wi-Fi streaming. It took five attempts to link to my home Wi-Fi, and there is a strong Wi-Fi signal in the room where the device is located. It finally worked, but then about every two weeks it would disconnect from my home Wi-Fi and I would have to re-enter the password again over multiple attempts. Finally the other day it just stopped recognizing Wi-Fi, no matter how many times I tried to reconnect it to my home system. I called Best Buy customer service yesterday. The person who answered seemed very nice; however, she put me on hold to talk to someone else, and then came back and told me that because it was outside Best Buy's 15 day return window they would not refund my money or provide me with an exchange, and she recommended I call LG to see if they would repair it for me! Completely unacceptable. Who has only a 15 day return window?!? I am finished with Best Buy, and will never buy another LG product again.

It never fails, at least once, everytime. This player makes me not want to buy anything LG, since they got this soooo wrong!!

Freezes up

Netflix will not work on this device

Well the old unit failed last week and I installed this unit. I updated the LG software, knowing that with the passing year their software may need to be fluffed. I then set up my WiFi; and then, Netflix. So now my wife and I are ready to watch Stranger Things. Wrong! This unit starts and stops, then freezes to a point that it must be unplugged every stinking time! I looked on LG's web help. It's all the usual that I've already done. There isn't an app update on the LG sight. They only suggest calling Netflix, like that will do any good other than waste an hour of my time. This unit is going into the dumpster, and I'll use the hour to buy a new unit that will work. LG, your off the list!

Freezes constantly

It's very frustrating. Called LG support multiple times but they couldn't do anything as it was out of warranty.

Doesn’t work. Freezes during netflix

Faulty Disk Drives

The disk drive stopped working altogether after 6 months and would not play any CD's or Blu Ray disks. I ordered a replacement drive off ebay and replaced it for them myself since I've worked with electronics for over a decade. Less than a month later the replacement drive broke, I will not buy any more LG Blu Ray players since the data chips or the way the boards are manufactured are sub-par. !!DO NOT BUY!!

Terrible

If you pause a DVD for more than a minute the unit freezes and has to be restarted, and doesn't come back to where you left off. It seems to need time to "warm up" in order to press play, or open the disc tray. It frequently gives messages about connecting to a network, interrupting play when all I'm doing is watching a disc and don't need a connection. It is slower than a VHS player from the 80s.

piece of garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we bought this during the BIG Thanksgiving sale 2019, since we have other Blue-ray players still using, we didn't opened & used until now, BUT, it's really NO GOOD, after a few weeks of playing, Blue-ray disc can't play anymore, player auto ejected my blue-ray disc with an error "check disc".

Horrible Product

I try to watch Netflix with it & it constantly buffers & the image quality is horrible. And then it will freeze up and NOTHING will work and I have to unplug the Blu-Ray player. I don't have trouble with any other device connection to WiFi so I know it's not the router. Unfortunately for us, we didn't hook this up until it was too late to return. DO NOT BUY THIS BLU-RAY PLAYER!!!!! IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

Don’t do it!!

Programs stop midway through and screen freezes. Unit does not respond to the remote. The unit worked initially but purchased it less than a month ago and it stopped working after about a week.
