I decided to buy it based on the reviews. I wouldn't recommend it since it doesn't clean the clothes. Perfect example, I got a small coffee stain on one of my shirts about a month ago and wash it every single week and the stain is still there. At first we thought because we didn't know how to use it but, now we've had it for 4 months and it just doesn't cut it for us!

    Much better than Maytag

I was bitter about buying a Maytag that wasn't cheap and it only lasted 6 years. I've had this about three weeks and it definitely cleans better. My husband pulled an undershirt out of the drawer and said "wow theses whites are white". It's quieter than the expensive Maytag was by far. I suspect it uses more water but the clothes are clean so I'm okay with that. It seems to do well without an excessive amount of detergent. We got the 12 cycles instead of the 14. We've done yard clothes to dress shirts/pants and all is well. Dress clothes aren't mangled/wrinkly. Very pleased.

Traveled 30 miles to buy/ pick it up. Installed it. Looks great. Started doing laundry. That is where this machine started to shine. With a 5 cu.ft. drum, it holds a lot. Ran it through the paces. After 1.25 hours, super clean clothes. Very quiet. Cleans as good as the 23 year old Maytag it replaced! I made my purchase based on reviews. This washer is as good as they say it is. On a parting note, you may want the large matching dryer. My old dryer has to be used twice to dry all of the things that fit into it. I will consider LG for my dryer purchase in the future! .

Top loader after disappointing front loader, still disappointed in he machines. Nothing seems as clean as my twenty year old Maytag. Towels particularly come out stiff and stained. I've switched detergents to no avail. The detergent dispenser stays full of old water if I wash on the bulky or towel choice. I'm not loving this machine.

Bought this washer 6 months ago, and we loved it until it randomly decided to stop working. It's supposedly under warranty, so I called for service. After multiple calls and days of waiting, it turns out there is not a single LG-authorized servicer in our area. Granted we don't live in a huge city, (Eugene area is about a half million people), but we have never had a problem with service from any other appliance brand. LG is apparently lackadaisical about warranty service coverage. Appliances break, and a "1 year manufacturer warranty" is useless if the manufacturer has not authorized anyone in your area for warranty service. Buyer beware!

I bought this washer about a month ago so I've really had some time to use it. I was so excited for a new washer as this was replacing my 17 year old Kenmore. That Kenmore still worked great and I never spent one penny on it in the last 17 years. It was a brute. The only reason for replacing it was that our dryer went out and I wanted matching washer/dryer. In a way, I kind of regret getting rid of a perfectly good washing machine as this one isn't as exciting as I'd thought it would be. It has some pros but also some cons. Pros: 1. Love the large stainless steel tub. Fits way more items than my old washer. 2. I like the feature to add more water although it doesn't work on all settings. 3. Glass lid is nice and I like the soft close so it doesn't slam shut 4. All the settings are nice, but really how many settings does one really need? 5. Wash cycles are pretty quick (except for Delicate - see below!) especially on the Turbo settings. Cons: 1. The major thing is I'm not convinced this gets my clothes as clean as my old washer w/ agitator. I watch the load as it does it's thing, and it moves it around pretty good but a couple of times, I notice a few items don't get completely submerged. 2. Without an agitator, the way this thing moves clothes around, clothes get very tangled up in each other (sleeves tangle with pant legs, etc), and thus very wrinkled when it comes out of the wash. 3. The delicate cycle takes FOREVER! Like 1 hr 30 mins. Ridiculous. The load will literally just sit there in the tub and not do anything for 30 mins. I don't get that. I feel a delicate cycle should delicately wash clothes and not be as aggressive as other other cycles. Maybe it does that but I don't see why the load should sit there for over 30 minutes and not do anything. I did a ton of research on new washers prior to purchasing, and ultimately decided against a front loader due to all of the service problems and smell. I still think a front loader would clean clothes better than a top load HE washer as it's really the gravity that's pushing the clothes around. Probably more gentle on the clothes as well. I'm a practical person so in the end, the top loader won out for me. I'm sure I won't get even a quarter of the life span as my old washer but for now, this works just fine.

We just replaced our old GE washer that came with the house when we had it built 7 years ago The old machine was loud even when you close the laundry door; we could hear each cycle. We hated that machine and I guess it was bitter sweet because it just stop working. We love this washer, it jingles when it is done, and most of all it is much QUIETER than the last one. I don't have any complaints as of yet.
