Ideal Monitor For Your Gaming Needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When buying a monitor you need to realize that the 27 inch monitor is actually measurements diagonally and the actual size for placing it needs to go by the measurements of approximately 24 inches in length, 21 inches in height and is about 2 inches deep. With the stand this monitor weighs in at around 12 pounds, so it should be fine on any desk, even ones with an upper shelf for the monitor like I have. If you are using the stand and not mounting it, it is about 9 inches deep. The power cord for this monitor is about 5 feet in length. This monitor has a 200Hz refresh rate meaning you will almost always have smooth game play and with the HDR display it will show a wider range of colors which will give more of a vibrant and realistic image. It also works well with FreeSync and G-SYNC for great game play. The stand for this monitor will tilt, swivel, pivot and adjust the height which is a real plus compared to other monitors I have had in the past. You will be able to have the best possible view to enjoy whatever you will be doing with your computer. If you have or want to have dual monitors set up, this model would be great for that. It has a very thin border making this one a good option. This is also compatible with a VESA wall mount of 100x100 which is an added bonus. Having a 1ms monitor (like this monitor has) will reduce blur and give you a smoother and more responsive visual experience, especially when playing games that are action packed. I definitely noticed the difference from this monitor compared to the older monitor I replaced. After having played a few action games with this monitor, I noticed a better contrast in low light situations and my game play has been great. I also used this monitor for editing photos and immediately noticed the difference with the vibrant colors. Even when watching videos, I have noticed more vibrant colors compared to the older monitor I used. If you are looking for a new gaming monitor that offers high-performance, has amazing color and is priced well for what you get, then I definitely recommend this monitor for you.

Above Average Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never had a bad experience with any monitor made by LG and this one is another winner in my book. The image quality is outstanding with incredible color production the as near as I can tell without using modern calibration tech (which I do not have) this is pretty darn close too 100% RBG. The up to 200Hz refresh rate make moving images and video look buttery smooth when both gaming or watching video. Being able to connect more than one HDMI input is huge for me as I have two laptops on my desk so being able to use one monitor for two computer is a huge life save for someone like me with limited desk space. This makes life much easier for me at least. Build quality is not the typical cheap plastic type of feel often found in most monitors today. Yes, while it is made with a plastic case it does not exhibit any "flex squeaking" when I move it around. Nice. Having multiple inputs, HDMI And Display Port provides more options for future use and needs. I have to say LG has built another home run with this display.

Best value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent value. 200hz overwatch gaming at 1440p is fantastic. No smearing, tearing, or noticeable lag. (I'm not very competitive). Colors are great. No real HDR, that's fine At the price 169-189 depending on the sale this is hard to beat.

Great value for a nearly perfect monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new external monitor to use with my Acer Predator laptop. I wanted high resolution and a fast frame rate. This LG UltraGear 27” QHD monitor looked to be a good choice, so I ordered it. It was a good choice - there is a lot to like about this monitor. Unboxing and setting it up was simple. The monitor comes securely packaged, sandwiched between two large Styrofoam panels that also contain the accessories. I would recommend pulling it out of the box while lying on its side instead of sitting upright, otherwise some of the parts of the stand can fall out. Included with the monitor is the stand (which comes in two pieces), the power cords, an HDMI cable, and the instruction manual. Assembling the stand is simple and requires no tools. The base has a captive thumb screw to attaches the upright support. The stand snaps into the back of the monitor with a spring-loaded catch. The stand allows the height of the screen to be adjusted just by sliding it up and down. The screen both tilts and swivels via a pivot behind the bracket attached to the monitor. This means that the base stays planted on the desk and only the screen itself is moved, which is a great design. The power cord uses an external “wall wart” transformer and connects to the back of the monitor with a low-voltage coaxial plug. It’s a fairly compact transformer, but will still block adjacent outlets on most surge protectors. The fact that the power supply is external instead of being built into the monitor is about the worst thing I can say about this LG monitor. In addition to the low-voltage power socket, the rear of the monitor also has two HDMI inputs, a Display Port input, and a headphone jack. The only button is a “joystick” style control on the bottom of the bezel. It doubles as the power button and is also used to activate and navigate the on-screen settings menu. The menu is easy to navigate, and there is an adequate number of settings that can be adjusted, including color, brightness and several adjustments to control HDR and gaming modes. After an adjustment to the brightness setting, I found that the display is bright, crisp and clear. Colors reproduction is very accurate and the high frame rate and low latency create vivid images with plenty of clear motion. I noticed no delays when playing high frame-rate material. There was no streaking or other annoying artifacts. I tried several of the game modes and settings, and found I was happiest with the default setting along with about 70% brightness and HDR enabled. The non-glare coating and ultra-thin bezel compliment the high-end performance. Overall, this is a great monitor and at its current list price, it’s a very good value. I’ve owned many LG TVs and monitors and have always been very satisfied with their performance and quality, and I expect the same from this one. I highly recommend this LG UltraGear monitor.
