Beautiful
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this beauty up on sale when it was $349 and I couldn't be happier. Haven't messed with too many of the options yet, so if something comes up I'll update, but from what I've seen so far i doubt I'll have to. Color looks amazing, everything is extremely crisp in Cyberpunk which is what I've really tested it out in, and it comes with a nice stand to boot.

Crisp, Fast, and Built for Gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is seriously impressive. The colors pop thanks to the Nano IPS panel, and the 1ms response time with 144Hz refresh rate makes gameplay super smooth. G-SYNC compatibility keeps everything tear-free, and HDR adds depth to visuals. It’s not cheap, but if you’re into gaming or creative work, it’s absolutely worth it.

Could be better for the price. Beware of Open Box
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this item "open box" and there was a dead pixel on the bottom left corner. Other than that, the monitor looks amazing for 27 inches. 1440p definitely looks A LOT more crisp than 1080p. Personally I returned this for the dead pixel and opted for a curved 27 inch monitor instead. Easier on the eyes especially when you sit pretty close to you monitor.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing quality amazing colors! This Ultra Gear is out of This world the legs are about 11 inches long but if your mounting this it would be irrelevant. But for gaming its amazing with 164hz and 1 millisecond reaction. Its really good.

Works with PS5 at 60hz
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased specifically to use with PS5 and I can wholeheartedly recommend this monitor. First game I fired up with it was Spider-Man Miles Morales and I was blown away. HDR looks great. The PS5 thinks it’s running at 4K 60 but it looks awesome and runs smooth. You don’t get 120 at high resolution only at 1080p but it’s a steady frame rate. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase and if Sony ever adds 1440p support this thing should be able to run it.

good monitor
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this monitor for a few months now, and I use it daily for gaming and watching movies. It has been wonderful for both. The monitor has great color and clarity, and the refresh rate is fast enough to handle fast-action games. The built-in speakers provide good sound for movies and games, although I usually use headphones for both. Overall, this is a great monitor for both gaming and watching movies.

Amazing for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is fantastic. I was lucky enough to pick this up on sale for $300, which is an absolute steal for the quality. I'm not sure if it'll ever go that low again, but 350 would also be an excellent price. The colors are fantastic, everything is very clear, and a noticeable upgrade from 1080p. It has one DisplayPort and two HDMI which works perfect for one computer and two consoles.

Good 1440 IPS Panel (great if you find a discount)
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this at a near 18% discount so this rating reflects that. The screen has great color and great performance overall. I would say the light bleed is ok at the corners since all these panels have that issue, but it's not bad, just be aware if you want really good blacks you have to go VA panel which usually looks worse, or OLED which is super pricey for a higher refresh. This is a good balance for those that want 1440 at a good price of you don't pay full

Don’t think about it, just buy it.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking into these new gaming monitors with more than 144hz refresh. Honestly didn’t even know of this model until day of. My buddy was recommending the GL850b model and this is exactly it but newer with a few more buffs. Honestly. This specific one I bought is plenty for an IPS 165 Hz monitor. For gaming and for watching Shows/Movies. Cheap Great value Easy to set up Must use Display Port on the high end graphics card. I have a 3080 EVGA.

Would reccomend if your looking for a good upgrade
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wanted to upgrade from my old Asus 60hz monitor since i upgraded my pc. Runs fantastic and smooth it says its 165hz but when i look it says 144hz but that might be due to the hdmi that i am using. I jave to adjust a little because i didnt realize how much of a diffrence 27" was from 24" not to mention i went from 1080p to 1440p but overall it has a great picture especially with hdr on, animations are smooth.

Worth the Price
|Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[Employee of bestbuy] I purchased this monitor because I was looking to upgrade my setup. Oh boy was it worth it. The picture quality is amazing and even for console it allows me to run most games on 120 hertz. One of my favorite purchases I’ve made at Best Buy!

Best monitor for PS5!!!!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the LG UltraGear 27” Nano IPS QHD Monitor (Model: 27GP83B-B.AUS) in early 2022, and it’s been a game-changer for my setup. The picture quality is fantastic – vivid colors, sharp details, and an overall stunning display. I’ve spent countless hours playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on this monitor, and it’s been an incredible experience because of 120 fps. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase. If you’re looking to take your gaming to the next level, I can’t recommend this monitor enough!

Good budget monitor
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is probably one of the best one you can get for the price. Got it at a good price at the time. Plays 1440p at 120hz or 4k at 60hz.

LG UltraGear 1440p 165hz
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor a month ago and it's performance is outstanding I enjoy it thoroughly. There is only one singular issue, upon checking the monitors stats on the Best Buy website the description from Best Buy states that this monitor runs 240hz but upon arriving at the store I discovered that it is a 165hz monitor. This is still an amazing performance with zero complaints to the monitors quality, but the misleading information presented by best buy to customers is a slight mistake that becomes a big problem so if you're specifically searching for a 240hz monitor this is your heads up that this particular LG Ultra Gear does not run 240hz. Now besides that the responsiveness, smoothness and color is amazing and I %100 recommend this monitor to anyone I am very happy with my purchase.

Solid monitor for the coat
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality is rather good. Comparable to the 4k Ben Q I’ve got. However being that one is only 60hz this one is in my opinion better. Easy setup and some nice built in features such as a gram counter and if you like shooters a cross hair overlay.

Best Monitor Deal, August 2024
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using three LG UltraGear 27GP83B monitors for about a month now, and overall, I’m quite impressed with their performance and value. In terms of build quality, the monitors are solid and feel well-designed for their price range, leaning toward a “gamer” aesthetic. The mounting mechanism is sturdy and straightforward, making setup a breeze. When it comes to display performance, the refresh rate is exceptional, especially in this price range. I haven’t had any complaints—it’s been fantastic for gaming. The 1440p resolution strikes a great balance for gaming, content creation, and general PC use, offering crisp visuals without being overkill. That said, the HDR performance is where I felt a slight shortcoming. Coming from a Samsung HDR 600 monitor, the LG UltraGear is noticeably dimmer, but it’s not a dealbreaker. The difference is about 15-20% in brightness, but even in a well-lit room, the display holds up without causing any strain. Given that the Samsung monitor was more expensive, the LG makes up for the difference with higher refresh rates and modern features like dynamic HDR—and all at a much more affordable price point. Gaming on these monitors is as good as I could have hoped for. I don’t play fast-paced, competitive games, but I can tell this monitor would hold its own in that environment. Everyday use has been comfortable too, with no noticeable eye strain, even after long periods of work or casual use. One area that could be improved is the HDMI compatibility. The monitor only supports HDMI 2.0, which limits refresh rate and forces 4:2:2 compression. Given that my setup requires HDMI due to my VR headset using DisplayPort, this limitation has been frustrating. My video card, like many, has 3 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI output, which is a fairly common configuration. Triple monitor users should be cautious if they plan on connecting more than two displays via DisplayPort while needing the HDMI for full performance. The manual suggests support for 165Hz at 1440p with full HDR (which implies HDMI 2.1 compatibility), but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Despite this, the ports are generally sufficient for most desktop setups, with 2 DisplayPorts and 1 HDMI, though HDMI 2.1 would have been a welcome addition. I also appreciate the absence of built-in speakers, though I could do without the audio pass-through. In conclusion, for the price, the LG UltraGear 27GP83B offers a fantastic package. If I could make one change, I’d happily pay a bit more for HDMI 2.1 support. But even with that omission, this monitor was clearly the best deal I found in August 2024. For gamers and content creators alike, it’s a solid investment.
