While the 4K quality is quite good, it's seemingly no better than the 4K quality of any other player that I have now or have had in the past. I went with it because it was LG and my newest tv is also LG. I have a home theater surround system that it did not play well with either. The settings are not very customizable. There is no way to turn off the HDMI control in the player itself, the only way to do that would be to turn off the CEC and in turn the ARC which means no more controlling the volume of my speakers using the tv... that's a big deal for anybody who wants a really nice set up. The only options for streaming services on this player are Netflix and Youtube... that's less than stellar. I do have other means of streaming, but the $99 sony blows this one out of the water. I picked up this player as the deal of the day for $129 and it still isn't worth it. I hooked it up and gave it a chance, but I went out and bought the Sony x700 which is normally 249, but was on sale for 179 at the time. Sony wins. Sorry LG, I so wanted to like this product, but I just can't. The menu options remind me of the dvd player I keep in the car for the kids...only not as good. This product should be discontinued and totally revamped.
