Poor build quality ruins experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure what exactly is the issue with the player, but it can vibrate and make very loud and constant noise during playback of certain 4K discs. The sounds resemble an electric razor turned on and placed onto a wooden table. The movie watching experience is totally ruined unless you tinker with the player and put some shock absorbing materials above and beneath the player, particularly around the disc drive. This seems to be a well known and experienced issue judging by multiple people's feedback on the internet. The noises occurred for me during multiple chapters of Planet Earth 2, The Revenant, John Wick, and Blade Runner.

This is still a buggy player

I was anxious to get a 4k player and trusted LG to produce a quality product based on my purchase history. Even after a couple firmware updates this unit will still not finish a 4k movie. About an hour into any film, it will pause and then skip sections of the movie. It doesn't play well with my Sony TV unless the TV gets turned on first... It doesn't always respond to pressing the eject button on front of the unit or the remote. Doesn't always power off. It will play HD BluRay with little fuss, but fails repeatedly when watching any 4k disc. I'm well past my return/exchange date as I was hoping software would help reduce the pain. Don't let this be you. Pick a different player.
