It has surpassed my expectations. Love this brand!

Bought this because I was told by the LG rep at best buy that it would play my PAL dvd's from England that I have but it does not so I returned the unit.

This Blu-Ray/DVD player has a sleek design and is extremely easy to set up. It connected easily to my network. I like simply connecting with an HDMI cable (although having one included would have been nice). The remote control is easy to understand and navigate with, although getting to some of the places in the menu seem to take a little time. The best thing for me is having a DVD/Blu-Ray and Streaming Services (Netflix and YouTube) available on one device. The picture quality is amazing, the sound is good, and the discs load quickly. There is a slight humming when the disc is spinning, but it can't be heard over the movie sound. Overall, I am very happy with this player.

Tried it to match my LG OLED TV but took it back and got another Samsung to be paired with the LG

The DVD appears to be a quality piece of equipment. I haven't been able to test any of the 4K capabilities but the other features work fine.

Old blue ray player no longer worked. We needed a new one with 3D capabilities. This seemed to be the best one available at a decent price.

This didn’t change my viewing quality. I have a 4K tv and I didn’t notice a difference between this and the blue ray upscaling player I have.

Quality picture and easy to operate - Works well - no problems

The DVD player is the only source I have had audio sync issues....all streaming and satellite service is great though

First off.....wow. I upgraded to this blue ray player from a DVD player and it is night and day. I have a 4K TV it is connected to, and I really had no idea how much detail I was lacking in the picture until I used this player. I am not sure if you have tried a regular HDTV and compared it to the picture on a UHDTV, but when you make that jump it is like watching TV for the first time again. This is the same thing compared to the DVD player. I feel I am also getting better picture out of my regular DVDs now. It is very impressive. So far, I have only used this player to play discs. I cannot comment on how it works via wifi, but I am sure it will be no different. I am just in the process of moving and don’t have my internet set up working yet. I have to say I am not a big fan of the remote. The set up and layout on the remote is just fine. My issue is that at times it lags a little. Sort of like using a cheap universal remote if you know what I mean. Push button......look up......delay......then it responds. That said, it does not do it all the time. I just don’t like that. The unit itself is very attractive and if you are one of those people that like to display their gear you will be happy to do it with this device. It's low profile sleek look is very attractive in any setup. Setup is super easy, it's literally plug and play. As I stated before, I have not tried the wifi options, but based on a review of that part of the setup it does not look that complicated. In fact it looks very simple as well. So this little monster give you a lot of bang for your buck, and in my case it was a major upgrade. I'm super happy with it and highly recommend it to anyone.

Can be networked, but the weak point is that there is no indicator (light) that tells you if it is on or not.

Not sure if really feeling this player. I tried to see if there was an improvement. Didn't see anything.

It played 4K blu rays just fine. I returned it because it did not play well with my Denon reveiver.

I could hear the disc spin over my surround sound system. Feels real cheap, not worth $300. Maybe my unit is faulty either way its going back. Really dissapointed wanted a lg player cause of the dolby vision update that is coming. I have an xbox one s and its quieter than this up970

HEAVY VIBRATION AND IRRITATING HUM FROM VIBRATION.

Quality is not that good what I expected. I am not too happy with this player.

Should have Dolby Vision but it doesn’t called lg and was told comes in an update but they don’t know when,we’ll its going back very disappointed advertisement says Dolby Vision this is odd to say the least.

If you are in the market for a 4K player, Save yourself the headache and the regret and go buy the Sony X800. Its a FAR superior product in every way for a similar price. I returned the LG UP970 after 2 days.

I don't understand LG. I really love their TV and all their apps. Why can't they use that same technology on their player. This was a big disappointment. Finally traded it for a Sony player.
