Android 2.0 is wonderful, but the design and lack of comfort of this watch detracts from Android 2.0. I tried to keep the Style, but it was bothersome to wear for more than an hour. Granted, my wrists are small, but a watch should not cause you pain. It just sits on top of your wrist in an awkward way.

You would be better off going with a Zenwatch 3 or Gear S2 than purchasing this lame basic watch. It would be a good buy at $100, not what it currently goes for.

    A Much Needed Update

With Android Wear 2.0 on board this watch flies through things without lag. The interface is smooth and much better than Android Wear 1.5. Being a owner of many smartwatches this one reminds me most of the Pebble Time Round. Using the watch daily I average around 16 hours of usage before needing a charge. The watch is not bulky and feels nice on the wrist. The watch is 18mm B&ND ready for additional watch bands and easy swapping of the band. Overall I am satisfied with the device however; if you are already a Android Wear owner who will be receiving the Android Wear 2.0 update you can probably hold off on purchasing this device unless you're eager to get your hands on Android Wear 2.0 or you are in the market looking for something much smaller.

Works great, beautiful, so-so battery life.

This is my second SmartWatch, the first one was a Moto360 first generation. I use my SmartWatch mostly to keep up with my phone notifications, replying to text, controlling music, and counting steps. As far as design goes, this is a beautiful watch. It is also small enough to looks like a regular watch. The only time other people notice that it's a smart watch is when the screen is off - which brings me to the battery life. Battery life is rather dismal. I have to turn off the ambiance light or it will not last the 15-16 hours usage. Having said that, I don't like sleeping with my watch anyway so I do prefer a watch that I can put on charge the whole night. So this part doesn't bother me too much. One of the reasons why I choose this watch is because I love the whole Android experience and this LG comes with Android Wear 2.0. It is definitely a major step-up from previous version. It is very stable. The diminutive keyboard is surprisingly accurate. I didn't think much of the idea of having Playstore directly on my watch, until now. Connection to Wifi and/or BT were solid and smooth. Google Fit integration is much better and the watch also very responsive to the flick of my wrist. I have used this for a month and so far, no need to reboot. Last come the pricing. While I love this watch, I do not think it is worth the price tag. I was really looking into getting Galaxy Gear 2 or Zen Watch 3, when my Moto360 went dead and I had to replace it ASAP. I went to BestBuy website and low and behold, the LG was on sale for $180. I also happened to have a $50 gift card that I needed to use, so at the end the LG cost me only $129.99. Definitely an excellent buy at that price. Personally, I think the watch should be priced closer to $175-$180 - for now. My other pet-peeve about this watch is the charging. The magnetic based charging is great - except for the fact that I can't buy another one, yet. Since I travel every 6 weeks or so, I prefer to always have another charger in my travel bag. Not being able to buy one (at least for now) is quite annoying.

    A happy camper

This is my first Android smartwatch. Coming from the Microsoft Band 2, which I liked. Wasn't looking for anything special, so the lack of GPS, NFC, heartrate monitor and the rest didn't bother me at all. Wanted basic notifications, which is what I like a smart watch for. As for the battery, it is sufficient. I leave the watchface on always (it's dim but quite readable) but I turn off any gestures that will turn it on full, so my wrist movements don't keep turning it on all day. All you have to do is touch the face if you want to turn on the face fully. Then, unless you start playing with it a lot, it lasts at least 15, maybe 16 or so hours. Not stellar, but sufficient. It charges very quickly. Done from 0 to 100 in an hour and a half. I also turn WiFi off since who needs it with the phone always nearby. I think it looks great. Some reviews complained that it looks cheap. Doesn't look that way to me at all. Mine's the dark gray Titanium model. As thin or thinner than most regular watches and very light. The Titanium model is good for men. I like how the plastic base is pretty much the same dark color. The band it comes in, though a Google Mode band, didn't seem exactly stellar so I got a nice expandable dark gray band from Walmart for 4 dollars (package said twelve but checkout said $3.60 plus tax- thanks Walmart) and that looks great. No more fiddling with the clasp. It's difficult to get a regular band onto any watch and this was no exception. You have to fool with those pins that get easily lost. Be careful. Love Android Wear 2. Love the Complications in the watch faces made for AW 2. Like the whole OS. Easy to navigate and easy to learn. There's really not that much to it but it really gets the job done. The haptic feedback is too mild and short. Got the app "Feel the Wear" that lengthens (but doesn't strengthen) the feedback, which does the trick. Loads easily onto the watch from your phone. Now the watch "flashes" three times in its notifications. You can make notifications stay until you dismiss them, but the five second notification (the only other option except off) is fine. If you miss it, you just scroll up and there it is again. Neat. I also love the Google Assistant. You can have it always listening for the OK Google prompt, but that takes battery. A short push of the watch stem, that integral part of this watch, brings it up. Some professional reviews have complained that it takes awhile to show up and awhile to answer. This has not been the case for me. It works fast. It's delightful to just "ask the watch" anything and get the written (the Style does not speak) response, often with a picture to boot. So, so neat. It's so much easier than getting your phone out, turning it on, and starting the Assistant app. The watch has always heard me so far. I also really like the scrolling watch stem. Makes navigation much easier than swiping. It's very smooth and sleek. You just have to learn that pressing the stem does not select. You have to touch the screen to select. The Agenda app is cool. Tells you your calendar. There's a Find My Phone app that rings your phone. I put a Calculator app on it also but I don't need a lot of apps on the watch. It's still usually much easier to do most things on the phone. But plenty of apps, almost all free, are available along with lots of watch faces. Although you can now go to the store on the watch, it's still a lot easier to get apps and faces from your phone. They automatically (almost always) load onto the watch from the phone. That Feel the Wear app had to be loaded manually. All in all, the Style is a very fine watch indeed. As the first AW 2 watch, it's a great debut, IMO. Yes, the battery could be better, but with a little painless pruning, things are fine. Just be aware that if you play with it a lot during the day, you won't make that 15 hour mark. That might be a deal breaker for some. After the first couple of days, who plays with their watch anyway? Watch face is readily visible outside when it's on full. I would have given five stars but for the battery and the Mode band it comes with. I'm very happy with this watch and I think you will be too.

    Perfect for small wrists

I have now lived with it for a week. There are a lot of reviews complaining about battery life and about a lack of features such as a heart rate monitor, GPS, and NFC. I would like to offer a contrary viewpoint. First, if you want your smartwatch to function like a phone, stop reading! Look at the LG Sport, instead, which has full smartphone functionality built-in. The problem is, it's also like wearing a grandfather clock on your wrist, which, I guess, is not a problem if you have big wrists. I am a guy cursed with small wrists, so most smartwatches just look ridiculous on me. And, I already own a smartphone, so I don't need a smartwatch to duplicate its functions. I want a watch with a huge number of customizable watch faces, a strong vibrating function so I don't miss phone calls, a message alert and previewer so I don't have to dig my smartphone out of my pocket, easy access to my favorite apps, and a smartwatch that is thin and small enough to look good on my thin wrist. The LG Style does all of that. Aso far as battery life is concerned, here is what I have found. If I leave the watch face in the "always on" mode, the battery only lasts about 13 hours. Also, if I am downloading new apps into the watch, that does drain the battery quickly. BUT -`if the watch is already setup with its apps, and I turn off the "always on" watch face mode, and then just go through a normal day of messages and phone call notifications, after a 16-hour day I still have about 35-40 percent battery remaining. That means the watch should be good for 24 hours. If you are happy with a watch that will need to be charged every night, you won't have a problem with the LG Style. Two last positives I would mention. The wireless magnetic charging (but not Qi). No fusing with stupid pins that won't line up like on the Huawei watch. And no flat tire like to Moto 360 2nd Gen, but yet the LG still has an ambient light sensor

I had the original Moto 360, followed by the Moto 360 2. When my 360 2 died I was worried I'd never find anything that fit as well and looked feminine (seriously, there are girl nerds who have small wrists that the normal smart watch just looks silly). I was worried after reading some reviews that I might miss the heart rate sensor, I don't. This watch does exactly what I want it to: allow me to leave my phone in my purse, pocket, or desk while still giving me notifications. The ability to navigate apps with the dial is awesome, and the fact that there is no 'flat tire' look to the bottom of the screen is also super appealing. I'd recommend this watch for sure!

    Average Hardware, Bad Software

The watch itself is average. Good size and light weight make it comfortable to wear. Arm gesture to activate screen face isn't very sensitive, so I had the watch display always on to prevent having to always shake my arm, which meant I was lucky to get 16 hours out of a charge. The crown is responsive and works accordingly for navigation...but overall I really hate Android Wear 2 navigation. The easiest/most convenient thing to do is change your watch face, which to me isn't something I feel the need to change often. The only way to quickly be able to access an app is to have it embedded in your watch face which makes it hard to have a classy looking watch with a bunch of extra info always visible. Otherwise, access to apps takes extra clicks rather then a simple side swipe for your favorites like Tizen offers.

    Pretty "Meh" Smartwatch

I have owned an original apple watch and a Gear s2 cellular and I will say that this watch by no means compares to either of those. The battery life is pretty low and it simply doesn't do very much. I bought it while it was on sale which reflects in my rating but for full price I would've passed on it. You can't even accept calls on it because there's no speaker interface. If you just want to fiddle with apps, check the time or weather and see people text you this watch works great, other than that it's pretty "meh".

    Lost connectivity, horrible battery

I was all excited when I saw that this watch was on sale! I have had my eye on this watch for some time now, I am currently using the gear s3, and decided to try out an Android wear 2.0 watch. I went after work, picked up this watch and got home and installed everything. Installing was not the problem, it was the connectivity part that was. The app kept telling me my watch was not connected to my phone. I had all other Bluetooth devices off at this point. I forgot the watch, and did it again after a factory reset, and it did the same thing! Before I did all of this I charged the watch to full, and then after two times of doing all this I was at 20%!!! If you ever do this on any other watch, you will get maybe 20% loss, not 80% loss. This was all in a matter of 30 mins as well! I am taking the watch back today after work. I am going to stick with my gear s3 for now. I hope android wear has another model to test out. Now I know why it is discounted at such a high price, the watch is not good. Save your time, and money.

This is the watch I've been waiting on. Small size and none of the advanced features I'll never use that just eat battery life. Very sleek and minimalist. I haven't had it long but the watch and the band seem durable. The band design is really neat. It's easy to remove and replace. I like how the wireless charging stand has a magnet to hold the watch.

    Not REALLY water resistant

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had this "water resistant" watch for 8 months. It started acting odd about two months ago and fully stopped working one month ago. I sent it to LG warranty service who told me that it had water damage and it was not a warranty claim. So I looked up the water resistant rating which states it can be submerged for up to 30 minutes in less than a meter of water (paraphrasing). My watch was exposed to water, I'm a nurse and wash my hands all of the time. But I did not take it in the pool or bath, it was never submerged for any significant period of time in any significant depth of water. I spoke with the warranty department who said the technician's review was final. I spoke to the supervisor who said the same thing. And apparently I'm not allowed to speak with the technician. Now I have to pay the $20 diagnostic fee which they so kindly called to collect via phone. I do not recommend this watch. Apparently this company does not stand by their products. Will be reporting to the BBB and anyone that will listen. Shoddy customer service.

Picked up the watch today, after going through the whole setup process, went to charge, no go, will not charge, made sure outlet was good, it is the phone / charger. Since I would have to special order another one in (my best buy does carry LG watches in stock) just going to get my money back.
