I originally bought a top of the line WiFi router for the purpose of mainly splitting Ethernet up but once I learned about Ethernet switches I returned the router and bought this. Works perfectly, splitting my 300 up 25 down network to every Ethernet line without limiting any lane. Full metal body shows the quality of the item.

Great hub extension and easy to set up! Works just as well as Netgear router that comes built-in with its own ethernet hub.

Exactly what I needed. I have fiber internet and doing a speed test at the modem I am getting barely under 1 gig download speeds. Using this to split signal between rooms. Running a speed test in each room, I am not losing much if any speed. This works perfect and definitely worth the purchase.

I have an #Apple MAC Mini. There are several blogs that criticize the performance of the Ethernet port. This is especially true when the computer was turned off. When the computer was turned on, the gigabit port on the Mini disconnected...all the time! Numerous bloggers made suggestions recommending one fix or another but none seemed to prove effective. The port on the #Apple MAC Mini is, in fact a gigabit port. However, none of the recommendations seemed to make note of the type of port it is. I thought that all that was needed was a boost - an Ethernet Switch. I did my homework and I selected the Linksys 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch. I knew this Gigabit Ethernet Switch was going to live up to the #Linksys’ outstanding reputation...so I bought two. I have had them for almost a month. The boost is amazing! I haven’t had any issues, especially with the #Apple MAC Mini when it is tuned on and off. It identifies the gigabit signal from the Linksys and gives the boost my #Apple MAC Mini needs...without fail...well done Linksys! One happy customer... Fred V H

I use a switch as opposed to plugging my items directly to the modem. You will multiple concepts on why. Plugging this into your modem and then all your internet devices to it helps in sharing the data/internet much better. Just plug in your cables and go. Using CAT 6 and better will help you out much better.

Purchased for less than a 5-port product, metal case rather than plastic, no performance issues so far, and product is extremely easy to setup as expected.

So much better than a router, easy to expand on a network that just needs more LAN ports.

This switch allowed me to to remove all my cables connected to the router and expand by an additional 4 ports. Now I don’t have to put all the stress on my orbi satellite. This switch does a good job stabilizing my internet speeds as well. I don’t see spikes anymore its more consistent.
