A very standard design, but having lights on the same side as the cabling makes it harder to see what is going on vs. seeing the mess of cables.

As it turns out (like many other reviewers said), it was the newer version that has the activity lights and ports on the front. Too bad because it is a nicely/heavily built switch. So if you buy this thinking the one pictured is what you'll get, better prepare yourself for being disappointed.

This is an easy to use/connect network switch where it provides 8 extra ports to build your network with your PC, network printer, wifi mesh, NAS, etc. Really good build quality and speed that this is my third one for a different room (media room, network room, and now home office).

In doing so, he noticed how slow and frustrating my computer was. He suggested replacing my ten-year-old ethernet. He returned a week later for an install.
