Are you referring to a MacBook or to an Apple handheld device like an iPad? Tell us more details about the challenge via email at [email protected] so we can assist you in getting the device to work. In case you will be using an iPad or iPhone in setting up the router, make sure that there's a working internet connection from the modem. If there is, connect the modem directly to the router internet port. After that, on your phone or iPad, look for the default network name of the device. The default SSID and passphrase can be located at the bottom of the router. You may check out these links:

Horrible reception

Easy to use, Range is horrible

This router sucks

We bought it four weeks ago and since it is past the 15 day return policy we are stuck with it. In the last week he has had to call tech support six times to fix it and we had to pay to speak with tech support after the first time. So I would not recommend buying this item.

Great when it worked

We recently moved and the router has decided to go into restart loops randomly. It's been doing it for weeks and none of the "fixes" have worked and there appears to be no support from Linksys. We even purchased the extended warranty but that has since expired without notice to renew. For almost $200 I would have liked at least some support for why it isn't working.

Placed in the living room, the router does not reach the bedrooms, which are not far away. The range is very disappointing for an item which claims to cover 5,000 sqf, and Linksys, when contacted, did not provide any solution, and refused to take the item back or exchange it for a more powerful unit. Very disappointing.

I just upgrade our internet to receive 100mbs down and 10 upload. My sister plays League of Legends and streams so I play xbox with buds we have about 4 xbox that we hook up on wifi. I previously had an N900 and we were pushing it.. Plus every with iphones & parents with ipads on the wifi puts a load on N900. So I upgraded to the AC and so far it's been great!

We already had a Linksys account and was able to transfer it over to this one to sign in. Easy to name you own Linksys 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks. I read a lot of reviews and I do not understand all the issues people are having. I have had no issues at all, but do not just plug this into a wall outlet. I have it plugged into a high end Monster power unit and would recommend plugging into some sort of nice surge protector or power conditioning unit to protect it and maximize its capabilities. I live in a 2 level house and always have 5 bars lit up on my computer on the second floor. We have an I phone 5, Microsoft Lg Lancet phone, Xbox One, Mac Air, and a PC all hooked up to it... no probs at all...... very stable and consistent with FAST internet connections with each network. Works well with the Linksys AE6000 Wireless-AC mini USB adapter that is on our computer. Great range, stable, user friendly interface, reliable, easy to set up, great compatibility, and fast internet speeds are all reasons why I stay with the Linksys name. When the internet speeds change and we go from 720p to 1080p to now 4k I know that Linksys will be there every step of the way. I have been using Linksys routers for years and the EA 6900 just reinforces the fact that I do not plan to change any time soon.

This thing just flies; no other way to say it. 129gb downstream Internet!!!!That is with wife watching Netflix and me running speedtest.com simultaneously. Peer to peer: I dragged and dropped a folder containing 80gigs of music from a Mac to the wife's work PC; it completed in three or four seconds. NICE!
