Excellent Value and perfect fit for my situation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If the your wifi range is 50' or less, this is a very functional unit. Speeds exceeded the rating of the broadband speed i am purchasing from TWC [37Mbps at 30Mbps] Old Cisco unit was limited to 28 Mbps. Good physical size too. Old Cisco unit was very small with no antenna but this unit still fit in its place even with 3 antenna.

Good buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase this router due to the connectivity issue, I was having with my old router. I purchase the Asus RT-AC66R it works 95% of the time, but when I would try edit info or add info. I would reset the whole and do it from scratch. With this router by Linksys now own by Belkin is a good buy. I have not had an issue of going back into the network to add or delete any info. I also connected the Linksys RE6500 to my Directv DVR and its works, and don't loose the internet connection like the Netgear WN2000RPT. I please with my purchase and if I have any problems trust me, I will you all know.

OK for Small Number of Devices
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a replacement to an old Linksys router that needed rebooting every week. Our home network has about 20 devices. About a half dozen are wired, and the remaining are wireless. When I first hooked up the router and ran speedtest, I was getting 90meg downloads on one of the wired computers. After everything else was hooked up, this dropped to 40 meg. Everything was pretty sluggish. The router's admin tries to display devices that are currently connected to the network. This is very inaccurate. Devices that had been disconnected for a couple days still appeared on the list. After a week, I ended up returning this and purchasing an Asus RT-AC87R. This router screams, It should because it costs $100 more.

Easy setup; fast speed; great coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very pleased with this router. Easy to set up. Coverage throughout part of house that needs coverage very good (better than the router being replaced by a long shot). Speed seems to be as good as rest of network though no real good way to measure whether it's better.

Even the Replacement Locks Up!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing but problems from day one. Had the original replaced after 9 weeks of having to reboot it every week. Wired and wireless devices would not connect and the router wasn't reachable internally either. Tech support would have me "tweak" wifi and mtu settings even though the two have nothing to do with why the router is completely inaccessible even from wired pc's. They also had me re-flash with the same (latest) firmware and all I can say as a network engineer with 11 yrs experience, re-flashing with same firmware is NEVER a fix!

Stable router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Router was easily setup and installed. It worked perfectly out of the box. At some point, an automatic firmware update installed and was causing multiple devices to not be able to connect, both wired and wireless. Once I figured out the new firmware caused the issue, I disabled the automatic firmware updates and downgraded back to the version I had. All has been well for a year or so.

Posted .Hi grimmace4,
We appreciate you in sharing your experience with the EA6900 router. The automatic firmware update may had been interrupted during the process of updating your router that is why you had devices that were not able to connect. Glad to know that you found a good workaround on what happened. You can also do a factory reset on the router after the firmware update to ensure that the new firmware will sync properly with the router. Should you need assistance with any Linksys device, you can send us an email at [email protected].

Can't go wrong with Linksys
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using linksys for well over 10 years now and I have yet to have one really disappoint me. My last router was a linksys E4500(N900) that I bought about 2 years ago, and it just couldn't handle the traffic i was putting on it, so it was time to upgrade. This one is, for the money, a best buy. Very easy to set up, Gigabit ports, dual band, and 2 USB ports if you want to plug in an external drive to make it a cloud drive. I currently have about 11 devices hooked up to it and no bother on the router at all. Definitely recommend it!!!

Excellemt Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a new router (my old one would not stay on line wirelessly). Being semi illiterate with computers etc I was somewhat worried about setting the new Router up. I could have not been more wrong. This router I managed to set up in just a few minutes...taking an extra 10 minutes to change all the ID, passwords etc. What a delight not having to keep loosing wireless signal. I would recommend this router to anyone. Well done Linksys

Saves our data
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had Excide Internet ( which I don't recommend), was always going over data allowance, old router was slow, ask geek squad what their recommendations werr, they suggested this. Now everything works a lot faster, and router hasn't allowed us to go over. Highly recommend this router, it does alot more than I every thought about.

Definately an upgrade over the EA6500!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used the E4200 and the EA6500. This router is far better than both! The wireless range has improved greatly with no drops. It had it going in minutes. I was skeptical that it would be much worse being that Belkin now owns Linksys. Belkin may have what it takes to bring Linksys back. So far, I'm impressed with this router!

Good product - poor customer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this router and when I opened the shrink wrapped box and took all of the equipment out I noticed that there were only 2 external antennas, not 3. Our previous router stopped working (Netgear N600, 2.4 Ghz stopped working unless you were 5 feet away from router, appears to be a known issue) and I had to get a new one in place since my wife run's her business out of our house. I contacted Linksys and asked that they send me a 3rd antenna since I don't have the time or interest in returning the router to Best Buy to fix their mistake. I was told they can't send me an antenna (this seems ridiculous to me) and that I needed to pack up the router and return it. I consider this a poor customer experience from what I thought was a quality company. As far as the router I have done several speed tests and they are coming back slower than the Netgear N600 set to the same channels.

Poor Design/Guest Network Behavior Unacceptable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an aging Netgear N900 that I use wall mounted. Believe it or not, having it wall mounted was the main criteria for my purchase. The folks at Best Buy said this unit can be wall mounted and was a step up from the N900. Well technically it can be wall mounted, but Linksys has put the wall mount slots on just one side of the unit so that the unit must be mounted sideways on the wall. Not only that, but they put them on the same side as the power connection port, so your power cable has to cross over or under the antennas and any other devices/cables plugged into the unit if you hang it that way and power it from outlets down below. Even disregarding the wall mount issue, the location of the antenna mounts on the back with all the switches, ports and plugs for devices is frankly awkward and cluttered. Having the antenna on top of the unit, or having separate bezels for the ports and antennas on the back would look better and be easier to work with. That's not the real deal breaker though. The real deal breaker is the behavior of the Guest Network. Rather than behave like any other wireless access point, the Guest Network actually allows anyone to connect without a password, then forces a device that's connecting to open a web browser so the user can type in a password (which didn't work correctly on my Samsung Galaxy S5, by the way). It also timed out after a short while due to inactivity, even after I figured out what webpage to open up so I could type the password in. I'm not sure why Linksys decided this was a safer method of allowing guest access, but my guests would find this tedious, irritating, and unnecessary. The idea of broadcasting an open access point, even if connectivity is denied until a web browser page is visited, just doesn't give me a warm fuzzy. I would prefer it behaved like any other secured access point save for denying access to the local network. I thought that was kind of a standard, frankly. That, combined with the awkward wall mounting design, means this is going back to the store. It's not fair to give it just one star because it did act like a proper router when I got it hooked up and all, but the behavior of the Guest Network and the overall disappointing design deserves an unflattering score.

LinkSys Stands by its Products!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My router works amazingly well (I can work on my computer all the way out in the garden); and the user interface is a friendly, informative dashboard that you access via the web. Here's the amazing part... keep in mind I am out of my warranty period... I ran into some difficulty on a Tuesday where I couldn't connect to the URL for my router. I called LinkSys customer support and my experience was amazing. The technician was completely invested in setting things right, consulted her superior as needed, and even called me back at a time of my convenience--late Friday afternoon--to follow through, with a reboot if necessary, and to make sure everything was working okay. Excellent!
