It is fast and reliable close to the router, but the speed falls off precipitously. The speed of my connection upstairs in my study is routinely less than 10 percent of the speed close to the router. It might have something to do with construction, but I'd have guessed that my 100-year old primary residence with plaster walls would be less permeable than my 50-year-old vacation house with drywall. In any event, it doesn't work for me in home number 2. If I'd realized Best Buy had such a short window for returns, I'd have given up on fine tuning and returned last week.

We hear you. Obstructions such as walls and large thick objects can indeed affect how the signal travels. Aside from relocating the router, we have to make sure that signal from the modem is stable as well. Changing wireless channels is also advised. You have to install an app on your phone..too complicated. Not much power. I have to unplug and reset at least once a week. Disappointing.

Setting up the Linksys EA6350 router should be easy with the Smart Setup Wizard that allows you to run the setup from a web browser using a desktop/laptop computer or a mobile device. Meanwhile, you can try to plug the router's AC adapter into a different power socket for isolation.
