I returned the product and bought Linksys - Ac1200 Dual-band Wi-fi Router - Blue. I can see much difference. Not sure it is because of the NetGear model has less capacity. AC1200 has excellent signal transmission. If you want for gaming you can go for AC1900. With USB 3.0 port you can connect the external hard drive.

If this is happening on both wired and wireless connections, it is best if you'll check the speed when connected to the modem. After that, wire the computer to a router and conduct another speed test.
