Has great range and speed when it works, but it has a habit of disconnecting frequently ( perhaps 5 or 6 times a day). I end up having to power down, wait a minute, and power up again. It also runs extremely hot, but I have it well ventilated. I'm switching back to my previous router. Perhaps I received a bad unit?

Once done, reset and reconfigure the router settings. To stabilize the wireless connectivity, set a permanent wireless channel. The Netgear router could not connect with its own brother device. Got this Linksys AC1200 and so far it's handling 10 devices and I can see it 100ft away in the street when I in my car. Pretty impressive.

Netflix streams at the same time on one of the laptops. Never a lost connection. Could not do this with a $50 router. Like the included preset guest access. Signal strength is good but not excellent. No regrets with this product.

I liked it so much, I also bought one later for a friend of mine which they liked also. Very easy to setup. Had to call technical support for one issue since I was replacing an older router and they were terrific to deal with!!!

I had previously bought two more powerful and more expensive routers, but was disappointed and returned them. Much to my surprise, this router was actually just as good. For the price (even w/o the $50 discount) I was more than satisfied.

I should note that we never have more than 3 devices connected simultaneously, so it's not stressed. I also do not do online gaming or networked gaming. It streams a single HD movie from Amazon with no problems.

Great entry level router

The parental control software leaves a lot to be desired, but still gives minimal parental control. The hardware itself is high quality. If you want a decent router for the best price, this is your best bet.
