For optimal performance, place your router in the center of your home away from walls and other obstructions. Experiencing poor wireless connection could be caused by interference in your area. We suggest that you set a fixed channel for your wireless network. You may have it on channel 1, 6 or 11 for the 2.4 GHz network and channel 36, 40, 44 and 48 for the 5 GHz network. We can also upgrade/reflash the firmware of your device and have it reset and reconfigured as part of the advanced troubleshooting. I purchased a new upgraded Netgear unit but could not get to work. I returned it to BB and purchased this unit. The setup instructions were not very clear as it took some time to get to their setup site. Once there it was not clear that you have to add the devices you want to connect. Also there is confusion in the instructions as to what is a password. The range sees to be slightly less then my prior basic Netgear unit.
