I had to replace my router and did not need anything but the cabled service, no wireless needed for my application. This router was on sale and has more than enough features for wired-only service. I can activate the wireless service later if needed, and it should do well in that mode also if I need it.

It did not work with my laptop. I called support at Linksys and they were totally useless. It worked occasionally on my tablet but not on laptop. Yes, it is only in the next room, therefore not a great distance away from the tablet or laptop. Intermittent functioning. It is suppose to work up to about 150' did not at all. Would not recommend this item. What a waste of money.
