Setting fixed channels for both frequency bands would help in boosting your Wi-Fi range depending on your current network environment. Try channels 1, 6, 9 and 11 for the 2.4 GHz network, and channels 36, 40, 44 and 48 for the 5 GHz. After the initial setup, the device worked optimally but when added loads were placed on the device to test performance, system began to overheat which caused the devices to drop connections frequently. Recommend this device for light usage.

Thanks for expressing your thoughts. As you reported, the router overheats and it causes frequent dropping connection which is very uncommon. As you know, the router is capable of connecting up to thirty-two wireless devices simultaneously. Allow us to make this right for you. Do you happen to know if your router is running on the latest firmware version? We recommend to manually upgrade/reflash the firmware of your unit using a wired PC. If the upgrade is successful, please proceed in doing a factory reset and reinstallation. We would also suggest relocating the router in an open and well-ventilated area to avoid possible overheating and likewise to provide you a much wider wireless coverage.
