EA6350-4A Great range and User Interface

Good WiFi range and a wonderful user interface. Setup was a breeze. I really enjoy the fact that I'm able to set priority devices. My xbox1 will no longer get interrupted from others on the network. Good looks and performs well. I have one concern, it gets hot. I don't understand why there are no ventilation holes or fins on the top of the device. Their newer devices all seem to have ventilation on top. Heat rises, and in this routers case there is a solid plastic lid, dome shaped trapping in all the heat. My table top, were it sits is def warmer then normal to the touch. The routers lid is hot to the touch. Heat and electronics don't play well together, and im worried this will cut down on the routers life span. I've updated the firmware via the routers online interface, and its still getting warm. Although the router seems to run hot, it's doing its job. I guess I'm just a little concerned. If it ran cooler, def 5 stars.

It doesn't really provide the best range - it is fairly poor in my house compared to other routers i had in the same location. However, when you are in range the wifi speeds are great.

      Hi Jason,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. It is possible that signal interference is what's causing the limited range. We suggest that you set a static wireless channel on the router settings to minimize this. It is also best to place the router at the center of your home to maximize coverage.

For further assistance, feel free to email us at [email protected] along with the link to this post.

We hope to hear from you soon.

      Hi Msheff,

The placement of your wireless router is one of the keys to having a good signal. It’s best that you position it in an open and strategic area away from physical obstructions. Adjusting the wireless channel is also a good move to avoid interference on your network.

If the connection will not improve, please send us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review so that we can assist you further.

It's not right that your EA6350 router failed within a year as we engineered it for long-term durability. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can have one of our Escalation Engineers check if this could be a possible firmware or hardware issue. Not much better than my old one, unless... there is something wrong with my cable internet connection (Cox). Speeds for downloads are in the vicinity of 2.5, I am paying for up to 50, so it seems really slow.

      Hi BeBe,

Your feedback is highly appreciated and thank you for your time in sharing it. Slow download speed is not normal for our AC routers. We’d suggest doing the following:

      • Isolate the issue by checking if your other computers have the same download speed.
      • Check if your computer has the same download speed when connected straight to the modem.
      • Perform a firmware upgrade.

If the connection will not improve, you can send us an email at [email protected] with your contact details, location, and the link to this review so that we can assist you further.

Unfortunately, after about 3 weeks we had to return this to the store. It might be perfect for a small area, but didn't work for us. I live in a 2 story home and it's about 3,100 square feet. This router could not cover our entire home. The internet "flickered" constantly throughout the day and we were having to wait for it to reconnect all the time. Ended up going with the Google WiFi and bought 2 devices. We're a week in and haven't lost the internet connection yet.

      Hello,

It may be physical obstructions such as thick walls, and huge cabinets are the reason why some areas of your house won't reach the connection. Also, if the dropping of connection only happens to your wireless network of your Linksys EA6350, then you could also have changed their channels to the recommended ones. In case you need help with any of our products, you can always reach out to us at [email protected] with your contact info and the link of this review for our reference.

Poor signal quality through walls, and 20ft away has dead spots in my house. Also unit gets very very warm to point that I am concerned about the heat! What we're they thinking with this one! Ac signal range is very poor, and the n/g signal is limited or throttled and only allows minimal bandwidth through to send to devices, no way to adjust or eliminate that problem. I will never buy a linksys again! Terrible unit! Not best buys fault they didn't make it!

      Hi, Uknowmefromroc,

Your experience with the router is valuable to us. The router shouldn't exhibit the challenges you've mentioned.

Walls can possibly cause interference and affect the range of the signal. Have you tried repositioning or relocating the router? It may help to improve the wireless connection if you'll set a static wireless channel which can be adjusted through the setup page. As for its temperature, does it get too hot to touch? If it is enclosed in a cabinet, we suggest to set it up in an open space.

Let us know should you need further assistance via email at [email protected] and indicate your full name, phone number, location, and the link to this post. We'd be happy to help you.
