An intermittent connection and a poor wireless signal could be caused by physical obstructions, wireless interferences, and sometimes by the wireless configuration set on your router. It’s best that you place it in a central location. Tweaking the wireless channel is also a good move to reduce the interference on your network.

quit working after 5 days

Not a good smart wireless router

It is recommended to check first the connection coming from your ISP's modem so we can properly reconfigure your router to match up with your existing network setup. We can also reflash the firmware of your device, followed by doing a factory reset and reinstallation. And to achieve an excellent Wi-Fi coverage, we need to modfiy the channels for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks. I am very happy with the linksys, as it has solved all the problems I was having with my previous router. The range is excellent and I have even noticed a significant boost in speed and the internet connectivity is stable and consistent. The smart wifi feature is also a great tool.

Are you only experiencing this with the wireless printer? How far is it from the router? Its distance from the router can possibly cause an interference but setting a static wireless channel usually helps. You can also adjust the wireless network mode to Mixed and check if your printer can connect to the network.

There are factors that may cause a slow Wi-Fi speed such as wireless interference, physical obstructions and distance. For the strongest signal, optimal performance, and widest coverage area, place the router in the center of your home away from walls and other obstructions. Keeping it running on the latest firmware will also improve the performance.

The router should work as long as your Internet Service Provider supports broadband Internet connection such as a cable or DSL modem with RJ45 Ethernet connection. Since you have a new ISP, what we need to do is to reset the router and set it up again.

This was extremely easy to set up and compatible with my Xfinity internet. We run Vonage, 4 phones, 3 laptops, tablet, PS4 and PC off of it. I did a stress test by running everything including downloading on the PS4, running netflix on three machines, gaming and youtube videos. No lags found.
