This isnt what I paid for.

Old router did not reach all corners of the house so I asked BB employee to walk me through routers since I am not highly tech savvy. He suggested the EA6350 with no hesitation at all. He said it would address my signal strength issues and give me a much better speed than my old router did. It is in my basement centrally located and keeps dropping connectivity and going slow. Checked my internet speed in all upstairs rooms in preparation to call my ISP and complain. Upstairs was between 1.3 and 4.1 MBPS. I carried my laptop downstairs and set it next to the router and retested the speed, 48.7 MBPS. My house may be 1000sqf with no exotic materials in the construction. The signal on this is awful, my faith in the BB staff knowledge is severely shaken. I think I could have done better by choosing the prettiest box.

Our Best Buy store consultant directed us to the perfect router to replace an old outdated one we had been using. Giving necessary info to consider & potential options, we chose LinkSys and are very happy with its ease of connection & performance level

This has been the first time I have ever used anything like the Linksys. I am not tech savy at all! Easy to set up and use. I even forgot my password and it was super easy to reset. I have not had a problem with it at all!

Does not work well with Fixed IP addresses

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The initial setup worked fine and I was able to setup the DNS to allocate dynamic addresses outside the range of the fixed addresses in my network. Then summer came. This router AUTOMATICALLY changes to new IP ranges for the local lan when it thinks there is a conflict. Unfortunately power glitches (summer storms) can convince it to switch to new ranges due to dropped packets or other issues while devices are rebooting. The router is on APC battery backup but not all devices in the network are. After this disabled our IP phones on multiple occasions it became a safety issue. I diagnosed the problem too late to return it to Best Buy. Getting something else.

    Excellent Router

This router is really amazing for the price. I have a 200mps network, and with my older router I would only be getting around 100mps in download and about 25mps in upload. With this router however, Im getting up to 256mps download and 45 upload. One problem that I've unfortunately encountered was the antenna signal. Its not weak but, its not so strong, the good thing is that even if you have low bars on signal you still get a good speed of internet. And the best part of it all, I haven't had to reset or had any internet crashes with it. It also comes with great app for your smart phone that lets you control your router giving you many options. Or you could also do it all through the website as well. I would really recommend this router to anybody that is just looking for a router that isn't to expensive yet gets the job done.

I have several routers throughout my home. The Linksys router is the best by far. Strong signal strength. I used their technical support to set the router up. Their support was great. I highly recommend this product.

Upgraded from an older wireless N router to this one. I use it along with an AC1200 Access Point. Great signal and consistent speeds all over my house (300Mbps/40Mbps). No dead spots. I stream movies and game online with this with out any issues.

The unit is very good with very acceptable performance; however, the User's Manual is in many languages EXCEPT ENGLISH! But other documentation is just fine but it could be further improved and simplified.

I could not connect to Smart Wifi to configure my router. Although my router is out of warranty because it is 6 years old, Linksys still provides tech support for the life of the router. Lex stayed on the phone to ensure my issue was resolved. It isn't always the product that makes a happy customer, it is customer support that does. I love my Linksys router and will stick with Linksys products due to their customer support going above and beyond!!

Works fine - Parental Control insufficient

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I didn't read the parental control details well enough. Built in control allows to to set times when certain devices can access the internet which is useful if you also pay for that service from your cell phone provider otherwise the kids phone just starts using your mobile data. There is no web content filtering it provides you the ability to block a website at a time but that is pretty useless. I was unable to get the router to use the custom DNS entries for OpenDNS (a good content filtering service(that's free) The router allowed them to be entered but there appears to be a firmware ssue to them being used. If filtering unwanted content is important avoid this router

I've been having Wi-Fi problems for awhile and decided to go up to an a/c router. I went with Linksys because I had trouble with Netgear. So far this router has fixed all of my issues and was incredibly easy to set up

    Not what I expected

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had an old linksys router that was still working OK but its power cord was bad and if power was interrupted, it took forever to restart. So, I went to get a new one. Thought I upgraded (certainly paid more), spoke to an employee to double check that it could do pc gaming, streaming, and mobile connection all at once. And toss in the occasional Xbox session. Not the case. Right now, only 1 pc hardwired to the router and at 15 feet away (at most) and my cell will connect but will do absolutely nothing internet related. And I recently upgraded my internet to 30mbps. Really rather pathetic. Wish I wouldn't have listened to the employee and skipped linksys entirely. It does work intermittently, but worth the $? Not in my opinion.

    Great Router, Easy Programming

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is the first router that I have ever purchased that has "next generation" technology that is easy to set up. I plugged it in, followed a couple prompts and was up & running in a just a few minutes. I am quickly able to change the password in order to remove all devices from the service (as a way to ensure children go to sleep & stay offline) and even have easy access to parental controls as well as the option to direct most of the Wi-Fi signal to my own personal computer before the signal is sent to my children's computers. (I feel that Mom's work takes precedence over Snapchat & YouTube.) I would definitely reccommend this router to anyone looking for a strong signal & plenty of user friendly, family supporting options.

Junk. Many other better routers on the market.

This thing sucks. When you go to configure this thing, you need to create a Linksys smart wifi account. So, think about this. That means you cannot use this thing unless you create some account with them. Its almost like you cannot fully own this device until you do this. And once you have created your account, you can access your router even away from home. So that means, your NAS appliances, every PC at your house, your camera watching your baby's crib, may be accessible from their end. I don't know about anyone else, but I want to fully manage my own infrastructure. I can already do the things they say they can provide from my old router already WITHOUT their help. Plus, Setup was not fun. I had trouble at the account part, and since my patience was already done, I gave up and re-boxed it. My advice: buy a router from a company that doesn't require you to create some account with them so you can have the privilege of using said device you paid $$$ for. There are many of them out there, buy those instead. PS: Linksys, expect this device to show up on the pallet of returns soon to arrive at your dock.
