I got this to replace my old Negear N300 which I loved but of course without physical antennas the range was down and it was outdated by 3 or 4 years already it had done its job... So I decided to try Linksys since I heard it had great firewall and encryption protocols and I went with the AC1200 with antennas and it worked ok, the range was not what I expected neither was the speed I was getting and my modem has nothing to do with it since I replaced it with a new model and the same thing persisted... So I just replaced mine today with the Asus N900 and its a far better experience because the Linksys AC1200 breaks within 3 months due to heating elements not being able to cool down properly even tho I had TWO yes 2 - 90mm fans cooling it... Put in short you are better getting anything that is not this particular model. Not hatting Linksys just hatting their choice of Hardware and software on this item....

I had high hopes for the router. I have had it in use for about a week and it has dropped several times since then. It is also runs HOT. Please know I mean HOT, not warm, HOT! Seems to be an issue I found after reading up on this model. It's going back tomorrow!

I need to be able to access my router settings offline. Linksys has taken their interface online, which is not a problem for many people. But I want to access my router locally if I am having issues, in order to determine if the problem is at the router or at the modem. I also carry a router with me on job sites that I only use offline. And I have to be able to make changes to the settings on that one on a regular basis. That one has also been replaced dozens of times after leaving mine behind as part of a system and buying another to replace it. I have purchased Linksys only for at least 10 years. But I am returning this product and going with another brand from now. Only a shift of people spending their money elsewhere can make the point. A second point is that the ability to access my router remotely already exists if I choose to make it available. I choose not to.

    Disappointing router from linksys

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have been one who has usually found Linksys to make some of the best routers on the market at usually a bit of a premium compared to other routers on the market. When I got the AC1200 I expected it to be a well performing router for a medium number of items. What I came to find is that even after the firmware update low power devices such as cellphones, tablets, thermostats often will be unable to maintain a strong connection(it'll often show it as connected but try to do anything online and you will receive a timeout). The router also only has 3 QoS "slots" on it to be able to change priority based on activity. It was also significantly inconvenient that the router needs to restart anytime you need to set a static IP address for a device. This model seems to be a dud and honestly if I was not outside the return window on it I would return it to the store.

      Hi RDriver,

Thank you for sharing with us this review. We regret to hear about your recent experience and we would like to extend our support in getting this unit to perform at its full potential. We suggest that you place the router on a higher location to ensure that the signal is properly transmitted. It's also best if you set a specific channel on your 2.4 GHz network so your wireless devices running on this band can easily connect. For the wireless channels, you can choose either Channel 1, 6 or 11.

Let us know how it goes so we can further assist you. Feel free to email us at

    Good price, Lousy Performance

I bought this router for home use and it is proving to be very unreliable and a poor performer. We started having issues shortly after installation and would constantly have to power cycle the device. I attempted to update firmware through the management web page but a check for updates showed that there were no updates available. I went to Linksys' website and was able to manually locate a firmware update for the device. Since update the device seems to not lock up anymore, but we still only pull 40 Mbps through either Wireless on either band as well as hardwired to the device from a modem that serves out over 100 Mbps. I would not recommend this router, a clear case of you get what you pay for.

      Hi, Jaybird,

Your EA6350 Router should be able to provide you a stable connection if the firmware is up-to-date and the settings are properly configured. We'd be glad to have one of our Escalation Engineers optimize your router's settings to achieve a stable connectivity. Please drop us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review.

    Solved a Problem

Our modem/router ia at one end of the house, and the wireless signal in the room where we spend most of our time was lousy (too many formerly exterior walls)! Figured out the solution was 50 ft of ethernet cable and another router - bingo! Only sorry did not figure this out months ago.

I've had no issues with this dual band router, even having 4 devices connected to the network. With my old Motorola b/g gateway, I would occasionally be "kicked" off the network. I also recommend a Linksys AC1200 network adapter for a laptop or desktop if you're using this router.

Over an year of everyday use. Its a very good router. It has some problems to reach out the other end of my house, but it 4 walls appart. It has a cell phone application for configuration that is very easy to use. It can manage 5 and 2.4 wifi both at the same time! That's great!

I bought this with my mother anticipating she might have issues with her Internet connection at some point. I can check her web access on the Internet and find out if there are any issues with her connection before I have to come over to her house to fix it .
