Have had a good experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to get this one for a good deal, making it about the same price as the EA7500 (AC1900). But you're looking at the cost of both, and wondering why you should get the EA8500 (AC2600), then you probably shouldn't get it. Unless you're streaming 4k to multiple TVs at the same time you probably won't see much of an improvement here. But that being said. Great range. Supports many devices at the same time. I have no complaints. Works well in a 2 story house and even works outside.

Inconsistent wifi connectections
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program Set up was a snap and no cd required. At times I had to re-enter wifi password on my phone and computer. It was not able to take care of weak wi-fi signal in one of my bedrooms. I lost internet connectivity at times on my streaming devices and smart tv. Internet connectivity dragged at times. It has good and bad days. Hopefully a firmware update will fix problems.

Linksys did a dud with this one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this product for free as part of Belkin's Friends + Family Program. When I opened this box and saw the size and the four large antennas I thought wow this will just blow out my old router, well not so fast. Speed was just a little bit slower from my older Apple Extreme router. The product worked fine with many devices connected for about a week. I then noticed that with the iOS app it showed several of my devices offline, yet they were not offline and worked fine. About a week later, well most of my products were offline, yet this router showed many things connected that were not. After a router resent everything went working again for a couple of days. Then this became a daily routine of re-starting the router to get all my devices online. After about a week of this I was done and it was boxed back up. I don't think I could give this away knowing how poorly it preformed. I was kind of shocked that it worked so well out of the box to a piece of junk in a week. I rated it two stars because it looks impressive and maybe just maybe someone else in the middle of nowhere can maybe get this to work better for them.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Data everybody wants access to DATA this router have good reach, security and encryption can be customized, recommended for multiple users the external antenas help the signal travel away from the router location this allowed you to work outside on your back yard or install wireless devices such as cameras and sensors in your front yard

Totall satisfaction
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have continually had wifi speed issues with this router. Our previous Router (name with held for integrity) finally died on us after 4 years. The Bestbuy sales guy told us this thing could accommodate a great speeds and will help with the multi family users we had (we have since moved and no longer have so many devices connected). So we purchased the original one this past October 2015. After fighting with our ISP for 2 months we replaced it with an equal exchange at bestbuy. We figured one bad apple out of the bunch isn't bad. But here we are at the end of March and wirelessly (I subscribe to 75mbps internet speed) and we are only able to pull between 20-35 Mbps; hard wired to it we get almost 100. We disconnected everything that uses wifi and tried one speed test at 3am. We were getting 28 Mbps. Now I either have to go exchange it again or switch products.

Posted .Hi, FamilyGamers,
We value your time in writing this product review and for letting us know about what happened. Before you consider on exchanging this for a different model, we hope that you will give us the chance to make your experience better with our product. Allow us to check the unit and to tweak the router's settings to improve its wireless performance. Getting a weak wireless speed can be caused by distance, wireless interferences, and physical obstructions. We suggest that you set a fixed channel for your wireless networks. You may have it on channel 1,6, or 11 for the 2.4 GHz network and channel 36, 40, 44 and 48 for the 5 GHz network. For further assistance, send us an email at [email protected]. Kindly include your contact details, location, and the link to this review.
We'd be glad to hear from you.

Broken, Broken, and Broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my first EA8500 router at Best Buy. None of the ethernet ports worked. Had to return it. Got another one. My first mistake. Worked fine for nearly 1 MONTH. Then it just started shutting off whenever it felt like it. Found several posts on the internet about this issue. Didn't see a solution so I decided to try LINKSYS Support. "It must be a known issue to have all these posts about it on the internet", I thought. "Maybe they will be able to help." I try Online Chat. Which apparently the agents have a very good union as they get a 10 minute break after every 5 words it seems. Anyway, after 20 minutes of unrelated questions I am finally told I will be transferred to someone that can help. 20 - 25 minutes into this chat and haven't even approached my issues at all yet. Transferred to the next agent. She proceeds to take me down a general troubleshooting checklist. Arrrrg. Apparently they are unfamiliar with this Router as she proceeds to have me disconnect my network and therefore disconnect my Chat. After I warned this would happen. Luckily I gave them all my information Name, Phone, Address, Email Address. They will surely see we have been disconnected while doing her basic checklist and will get back to me. NOPE. NOTHING. NADA. But a couple hours later I did receive an email stating that we were disconnected and she would like to continue our journey down treating me like I never used a router before troubleshooting 101. Except the email offered no way to continue the chat, No link, not even a case number. I suppose LINKSYS believes that I as their customer deserves to be inconvenienced and treated like an idiot because I found what should be a well known issue within their support. Yet they want me running through whether its plugged in or whether I turned it on and off again. Unacceptable Hardware and Unacceptable Support

DO NOT BUY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router to upgrade my old router. After a few weeks I started having problems with devices connecting to the internet on the wire ports. I called Linksys support and after a power cycle the device started working. A few weeks latter the router had the same problem. Only after a month of on again off again calling did they let me exchange the product. Now the new router they sent is doing the same thing. I would not recommend buying any Linksys products because to the lack of support.

Great upgrade over basic router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was extremely easy to set up. Wired and wireless connections seem very stable and have reliable high speeds. No problems have occurred due to connecting multiple devices at the same time. Has performed great with streaming video.

Linksys Support could not get the router to work!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router last weekend. Was incredibly excited to get this stood up and flying. Took out of box and installed...here is where the problems started. Not compatible with OS Yosemite. So, I called support who said this would not be a problem, we just have to install it manually. After an hour and half - absolutely nothing. Every troubleshooting idea was met with no connectivity. I can plug and play my old wireless-g router and my N900 and they work fine. After 2 1/2 hours of trying to install a router, generally a simple task, I finally gave up. Unplugged the new router, put it back in the box, plugged in my old N900 and ordered the ASUS AC2400. Sadly, my problems with outages with my EA4500 and this have caused me to move away from Linksys products. Think twice if you are on the Yosemite OS as no one could tell me for certain if they ever had success installing this new router on this system.

Awesome No Fuss Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this router for my parents after their old router started to become unreliable. I am a big fan of the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi interface and the app is very well done. Being able to log into it from anywhere whenever they are having a problem is really nice. I know that is a feature that other routers have, but Linksys' implementation seems much better than most. The Wi-Fi range and speeds are great and it covers a larger home with a basement easily. Having MU-MIMO, while not that beneficial right now because it's still new, is also really nice.

Headache!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first one was DOA. I spent an hour with customer support and they could not access the router even with remote access. At the end of the call tech support actually told me that it would be a good idea to look at another product due to the number of issues they have seen with this device. However, the price and specs intrigued me into taking a second chance. This time I was able to get internet access and that was about it. If you have an ethernet based NAS (such as the mycloud) don't bother with this one. Tech support was unable to resolve this connection issue with the NAS (I assumed it was because it is ethernet based and not USB). I spent many hours of wasted time trying to change configurations and do resets only to end up with one issue after another. I plugged in an ASUS router and .......instantly everything was working. This thing looks great on paper but save yourself some trouble and stay away!!!!!!

Two Dead out of Box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this unit after reading it was the highest rated router per Consumer Reports. However, I was unable to get two units to work for me. After spending almost an hour and half on the phone with Linksys, I was unable to get this unit to work. The Linksys rep and I tried everything -- even tried to manually set up the router with a Mac, Windows, and app on my iPhone. The Linksys rep went to get "approval" from his manager to return the unit, which I thought was odd when he knew I purchased this the day before at Best Buy (where there's a minimum 14 day return policy). I decided to go back to the store to exchange it. As soon as I connected the second one, I was having the same issue (blinking power light signaling no steady connection). I will be returning this for good and buying a different brand completely. I used to be exclusively a Linksys customer, but not again.
