Not only are these the worst routers I’ve ever owned, they were also the most expensive. I would return them if I could. Initially I had issues with one of the nodes’ Wi-Fi stop working on certain devices. They would be connected, but no internet. The effected devices work fine with all other WiFi networks and other devices connected to the same node still had internet. Spent hours n the phone with tech support, which resolved it for one or two days. Spent more hours on phone with tech support do the SAME troubleshooting steps until I got disconnected and just gave up. The entire network just stops working periodically. No device has any internet. Have to hard reset by unplugging and plugging back in. Happened while I was out of town two weeks ago, so no access to security cameras etc. then happened again last night.

      Hi,

It depends on the wireless clients which node they find best to connect to; wireless clients dictate roaming characteristics that the system cannot control. (To know more, please visit this link https://bit.ly/3hTqLnI) You can also do the following as a workaround:
      ▪ in the wireless device, forget and reconnect to the network
      ▪ you can temporarily turn off the node that is far from the wireless device so it will pick up the connection of the node close to it

Nonetheless, our Escalation Engineers would be more than glad to provide all the workarounds to improve your Linksys Atlas Max 6E overall performance. Just email us LinksysCares@linksys.com along with your contact details and the link to this review as our reference.

Compared to my Deco xe 4500 , they were pretty much the same range but the atlas would throttle my 2.5gps port to 500mb. Support could barely speak any English and it took several days to get back to higher tier. I returned it.

This product is a mess. It has incredibly limited features in the app, and only a handful of "advanced" features in the web interface. IPv6 support is incredibly limited. QoS is device priority only and not based on modern algorithms or ISP performance. The 6E radios are incredibly flaky and will randomly refuse to pass traffic and require devices to reconnect. Firmware hasn't been updated in 6 months, despite security concerns with current firmware. Wireless range is subpar. The LEDs are always on, with no way to turn them off. Linksys removed their community site, so there's no real way to provide feedback outside emails to a seemingly unattended mailbox.

I have AT&T fiber installed at my home for internet service and I never was able to get anywhere near the speeds promised for wifi. When I installed the Linksys -Atlas Max 6E Tri band Mesh wifi system I saw an immediate increase to the upload and download speeds. It actually more than doubled. What I like about the system is that is was very easy to set-up (although I was unable to set it up per the instructions). It has a clean and very modern look. The app is easy to understand. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is I spent a couple hours on the phone with Linksys because I was having issues with NAT controls for my son's gaming device. We would with get double NAT or strict or no internet at all. We found a work around - but I don't feel like there should be a work around. Maybe something that will be worked out soon. Other than that - we have reall enjoyed the faster speeds that we have been paying for all along!

In principal, this should be a fantastic product. Sadly the setup procedure is not safe. Instead of using a web interface to set up the mesh network, you are forced to create an account linked to your physical device and set it up online using a smartphone app. This gives control of the device not to you, but to Linksys. When looking at the online manuals, there was a tab listed on the web interface that you could click on to set up the mesh. That tab was missing on the production version. I tried a software update. This did not help.

      Hi, RalfTDog,

First, there is no way for us to control the router or view your network environment using the Linksys account. It’ll only let you control the router remotely. Second, you can actually set up the Linksys Atlas Max 6E Tri-Band Mesh Wifi System using the web interface. Just get in touch with us at LinksysCares@linksys.com so our Escalation Engineers can walk you through the process and help you answer the questions that you might want to know about the Linksys account. Just include your contact information and a link to this review as our reference when you reach out.

I am very disappointed with the use of this mesh system. After 5 months of use I can asure you it does not work well with FIOS 1Gb. It is important to mention the low speeds, the disconnections, devices not able to join, devices not able to transition from one node to another. As of December 2021, there are no updates that can fix these problems. The app interface is a mess. Terrible product, too bad I can't return. Wait for another brand to come up with a Wifi 6E mesh system. You will thank me.
