    Great mesh system

The Linksys Atlas 6E mesh system give great coverage around the house. Also, each of the node has 4 Ethernet ports, compared to other mesh systems, they only have Ethernet ports at the main node. Having Ethernet ports at each node would help if you have many gaming or streaming systems that need that extra boost in speed through wired connection. It also says you can connect many devices (only drawback it does not allow older WiFi devices to connect, which this is minor to me), which is plus for the future. Great value since you get three nodes.

Have been very happy with the product, the Ethernet backhaul was a big selling point for me and it has worked flawlessly over a broad/large area.

We upgraded our old one to this, it's a very strong powerful router. Even though it's a little pricy, but worth any penny.

    Can't handle duplex well...

signals drops a lot. couldn't handle it for 3 months+ so far, that I ended up just buying a different 6e wifi device which was an orbi. Had family come up to me saying the signal drop a lot on the linksy. They were comparing it and always hop onto our network which did handle being in a duplex and hardly any drop. This 6e linksy device didn't handle being in a duplex and had lots of inconsistency...that I ended up buying a portable hotspot at t-mobile for 50 bucks for that month to make sure have consistent wifi.

Had issues with nodes randomly losing connectivity, in a layout and home size where EERO pro never had issues for 4 years. Exchanged for another of the same system, and the same issue occurs. I've tried resetting, upgrading firmware, renaming ssid and password and manually reconnecting each device one at a time to verify there are no ip issues. Very disappointing that a system this expensive is this unreliable when a 4 year old, 2nd gen EERO PRO system at less than half the price never experienced stability and connectivity issues. This $1200 mesh will probably get returned before the return policy ends.

      Hi,

The Linksys Atlas Max 6E should be able to deliver a seamless and stable connection. But, we would like to have our Escalation Engineers investigate the system further. You can share more details at LinksysCares@linksys.com with the link to this review for our reference.

Great Technology BUT No Useful Parental Controls

    |

Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had this for a week or two. I've been trying to figure out how to turn on Parental Controls or add the Linksys Shield (which is the paid subscription that lets you block sites by age group/category). I tried everything and finally called Linksys support. They said this router does not currently support Linksys Shield. What?!! So the only Parental Controls are that you can type in specific websites (not useful) and you can Pause the internet. That's it. There is no blocking by category or filtering by age group. Upset does not begin to describe how I feel. I spent $1000 on what is supposed to be the best, and it includes no parental controls. I have 2 young boys that I need to protect online. Now I have to return it. It's my wasted time. This is the second router I have tried. The one before it was the new Eero 6e mesh router. That one had major range issues. I don't have a huge house either. Maybe that one was bad? But now I'm going to have to return this one. I feel like I'm in the Router twilight zone. So much for trying to go cutting edge.

      Hi Scott,

We’re so sorry your experience with our product didn’t match your expectations. As of this writing, only Velop tri-band models support Linksys Shield.

I was having dropped nodes every 1-2 days. I have close to 100 devices connected over Wi-Fi. So I went all in and purchased the latest from Linksys when the price dropped $200. I couldn’t be happier, very fast and stable. Not one problem since I installed the Linksys Atlas Max 3 node mesh system. Expensive: yes. Not having “Dad, the Wi-Fi is out again”: priceless!

I purchased this product last night. Very expensive. I was hoping the bad reviews other people provided I would not experience. Needless to say, I have encountered the same and possibly worst. My At&T router from many years ago provided better coverage than all 3 towers combined. I called for support. The 1st level support informed me that there is a special group for this product. They told me my ticket would be escalated for a return call. It has been I think more than 8 hours. You can't contact this group directly. Needless, to say my first call to support they dropped me. My 1st level support case is 14370811. They created a 2nd ticket for that special group 14370887. I hope Linksys follows up with my ticket. Most likely I will return it shortly if no one calls to work with me. I will make one final attempt. Service is terrible. I don't think I will ever buy a product from Linksys.

Absolutely love this product. Definitely a high price purchase but worth the money. Not only love the range and high speeds it distributes, but love the "trendy" look. Able to place it out around furniture without needing to conceal it. Very happy so far and looking forward to being able to use the Wifi 6 when devices catch up.

I contemplated between this system and the Orbi 6E, and ultimately stuck to Linksys based on an overall good experience with my old AC2000 WiFi 5 Velop. Unless you have 100s of devices connected at once, most homes will probably do with just two of the Nodes.
