Great router for gaming/using several WiFi devices

We've had this router for almost a year, and it's still working great! I mainly bought this router since it has Wi-Fi 6, which is recommended if you want to use the Air Link feature on the Oculus Quest 2 to connect wirelessly to your computer to have cord-free VR, which this router has worked perfectly. It also has the benefit of have longer range than the router Spectrum gave us, and it can handle having several phones, laptops, and video game consoles connected to the internet at the same time without disconnection or noticable slowdown. With how much we all use the internet, it's definitely worth it!

Best upgrade to the house so far. The internet was already pushing more speed than our old router could handle. This upgrade now reaches more parts of our house!

Quality router with great price. I replaced my rented cable router with this Linksys Router and so far it has exceeded my expectations. It was simple and fast to install. Quickly recognized and connected to all my smart home devices (IOT) much better than my cable provider Router did. It’s has been problem free so far and very good support from Linksys when need. Linksys continues to show why they lead the other in Router design and reliability and the web diagnostics tool is excellent for viewing and changing connected devices.

So this is a tricky one, the box of the router is misleading, I wanted to use this as an extender of my old linksys router, and the box says its a “mesh” wifi router and extender so I bought it thinking it would work as any other wifi extender. However, it only works if you have another router that is a “mesh” router from linksys. My old linksys router did not have this technology at the time, so this new router will not work as an extender, it just created another network once I connected an ethernet cable to it from my main modem. They the mesh as they call it is referred to as “nodes” a parent node and child node. The parent node would be your main wifi router that needs to have mesh technology, and then you buy another router with Mesh as well and the set it up as a child node, which just extends the parent routers Ssid without creating another network. So you wouldn’t have to switch between multiple networks in your house. It sounds great but the box did not say “this will only work with other Mesh routers” or something similar. I was about to return it, but I actually had a long ethernet cable to run to another part of the house and set it up there as another network, the coverage of this router is fantastic at least and fast, so in the future I may buy another mesh router, and replace my older linksys router to have one single network through out the house. The linksys app was glitchy as well and had to try multiple times to set up the network due to an app error but it did finally work. I bought this in 2021.

Been rocking this at a couple of different locations as I moved for work. In my new apartment (500ish sq ft) I have complete coverage throughout without any connection drops. I have a Wifi 6 laptop that I use for work which also doesn't have an ethernet port, and it is very reliable even with work mainly taking on an internet connection to a remote desktop. It completely utilizes the internet speed I pay for, 200 down, so I am very pleased with it. There are other great options, but for the price, I am more than satisfied.

This is really fast and it works great. Absolutely no complaints here. I have this running off my main router into another room, where my PC and other devices are connected via ethernet to this router. The speeds are just as high as if you were wired into the main router. This also allows that room to have its own small wifi network which is really fast because of its wifi 6 capabilities. Setup was incredibly easy as well.

    Good Router, Crap App

This router is a great entry level Wi-Fi 6 router. Speeds are great and it's been pretty reliable. My only real gripe with it (and the reason I'm giving it 4 stars) is the requirement of using the Linksys app to setup the router. It took me way too long to set it up as the app refused to let me sign up for an account (something you really should NOT need on a local device) and I was forced to do it from the Linksys website. Then it kept refusing to acknowledge that my modem was connected and just kept saying I had no internet connection. Any attempt to try and set up the router the old fashioned way (through the default gateway address) just led to more frustration as it just tells you to download the app. Overall good hardware (especially for the $100 I paid for it) but just an awful software experience. For anyone without a good understanding of how to troubleshoot technical issues, steer clear of this thing. However if you can get past the hurdles of setup I would recommend it. (As long as it's on sale)

I was looking to replace my current router before it failed. It has been a few years since I went with Linksys but the reviews online for this unit were very good. Setup was simple and frustrating at the same time. Instead of setting up via computer connection you must use the Linksys app. Simplifies some things but using a full sized keyboard and display makes a lot of things so much easier. But once it is configured you can log in using the web interface and manage settings. Once set up the connection speeds are very good. I do a lot of streaming, several computers/android devices and a lot of smart home devices. This router handles them all just fine. No lag that I have noticed. Range is very good. My home is around 1100 sq ft and I have good signal everywhere inside and over most of the front and back yards. Updates and done overnight automatically which is a nice touch. Trying to find a good time for updates has always been a challenge. So 2am is a good time for me. Overall I'm happy with this router. I do like the fact that it does not have 25 randomly blinking LEDs on the front creating a distracting light show. Haven't needed those in years so I'm glad they are not on this one. Good job, linksys. Hope to get a fair lifespan out of this unit.

I haven't had it long but so far I am impressed. My house is about 1600 square feet so take that into consideration but I am getting a strong signal throughout with better speeds then than my previous router granted it was about 10years old. Set up was pretty interesting but easy none the less. Great product

Easy to install and the speeds have been a game changer from my old router. Happy I went wifi 6 even if it doesn't necessarily lead to faster device speed. It's great having reliable, fast internet across all of my devices.

I am a college student who knows nothing about having my own wifi, so when I moved to an apartment where I had to buy my own router I was very distraught. Someone recommended this to me and I can't say enough good things. As a student who is online constantly doing work this wifi hasn't been slow once. And I currently have at least 7 devices added to it. I also liked how it was easy to set up, I was worried that I would need to watch a 30-minute YouTube video but I had it up in less than 10 minutes without any outside help.

I purchased this product almost a month ago, and I've been thoroughly impressed with its speed and functionality. It's incredibly fast and can support up to 20 devices simultaneously. The signal strength remains excellent even when I'm outdoors, ensuring a reliable connection with good speed. Downloading and uploading are both seamless and efficient. I highly recommend it.

Ten times better than my old router after unplugging my old one and “blaming” the ISP! Backstory: I recently purchased a new modem so I didn’t have to rent from a local internet service provider (ISP). But I still had to unplug my 5 plus years router to get my internet to work. From my local ISP, I was told or recommended to buy within the same brand for the router, but went rouge…and the combo/two different brands worked great. Setup: After purchasing, I was anxious about setup. But after I got home, took some time to relax, and then set up….I was surprised at how easy it was to set up. Not a tech wiz here! Their app was able to troubleshoot and provide me with tips and VOILA! it was set up after 30 minutes. Definitely recommend for a lower price router!

The Linksys AX1800 Wi-Fi Router is working great. My previous Linksys Router was Wi-fi 5 but was dropping signal and loosing strength. It was at least 5 years old. The signal is great now and even my devices that use 2.5 are working fine with it. Working with a cell phone to set it up was a little different, but I was able to set up my old devices the same as in the past. Range can be expanded using Meshing, but 1700 ft is more than I need. All in all a great price on sale for $115.

For $100 this thing is a steal for WiFi 6. I went to school for Cisco networking - linksys used to be in bed with Cisco about a decade ago and it still shows. This thing is a work horse if you have a house that is under 2000sq feet. Any apartment should use this router if you game or stream TV. Also to note - if you do the basic setup - your WiFi SSID or name will only have one option - no more 2g and 5g - its all on the same name!
