When you are paying $700 for a mesh router you expect a solid connection specially when aligning it with a high performance 1gb +’as netgear is. Perhaps is a firmware update that is needed but connection is very buggy and cannot hold more than 30 devices at a time.

I have been using linksys mesh systems for the last 4 years since i switched to this wifi 6 unit i have been having all kind of problems you can think off l, luckily i have geek squad protection so i can get it replaced

I had trouble with this router. Out of the box, one of the 4 I bought had an issue with the power cable. It powered up, but wouldn't work with that power cord. I tried another power cord from the box and it worked fine. I had to return it to get a new unit. I always had issues. They had to send me a replacement, which I decided to do rather than return another until to Best Buy but then they put me off two days to get the senior advisor in tech support, so I bailed and bought the Netgear Orbi and got that set up fine. The Linksys might work, but I gave up on it. Now I'm stuck with 4 units that neither Best Buy nor Netgear will take back... :-(

The AX5300 Mesh Wifi System is a nice addition to the Velop product line from Linksys. The installation process is always easy with Linksys routers and this was no different. Connect it to your modem and follow the step by step instructions on the app. Within 20 minutes you're up and running depending on the amount of nodes you want to connect. This edition comes with 2 nodes which was enough to cover my 2500 sqft single story home and part of the detached garage. I was also receiving max speeds from both nodes as well as similar ping and latency. I was also able to add my 3 existing nodes to this network from the first original Velop system which just completely surrounded my home with no deadspots. Both nodes also have numerous ethernet ports for hardwired connections if you want more reliability. The only downside that I could not figure out was how to manually turn on 2.4 and 5 ghz wifi as some of my devices only work on 2.4 ghz. I can manually turn off 5ghz on my previous Linksys router but this one seems to always run 5ghz and now I cannot re-connect my doorbell camera. There is a ton of customization in the app with details about who is connected to your network and you can prioritize certain devices if you want them to receive majority of the bandwidth. Overall, this Linksys Velop Mesh system is all I need for fast reliable connection. I am able to access my wifi inside and outside of my house. The price is steep but you truly get what you pay for as it is basically 2 routers in 1 box.

Overall not that happy with upgrading my router have not noticed any significant speed changes which I have tested thoroughly with many different devices and apps. My older Tri-Band Netgear Nighthawk had the same speed and coverage.

Returned this after 3 weeks. $750 all in for 2 units not worth the money. My house is long and I spaced the 2 towers out however the signal strength at the far end was very weak. I did speak to customer service and they confirmed that the signal was weak after running diagnostics but said that was to be expected as I was 50 feet from the unit. They also asked me if I had walls in my house....Do they think most people live in a warehouse? I called back a second time and was told2nd tier service would call me back which never happened. Anyway after exhaustive research I returned this system for a refund very underwhelmed. Wait till they improve this technology.

This is my second Linksys router, and the Velop carried on the tradition of crashing, but when it works - it delivers. Save your money and go with a more reliable brand,
