Had this Cisco/ Linksys AE2500 USB - N Adapter since 2008 nearly 5 years. Works like a champion. The reason Data Rate is lower than a built in wireless card is because of USB limitations of the computer itself. Don't blame the adapter. It has been known some of the products have Signal Issues. If You encounter poor signal strength when you're less than 40 feet away then Return Product and get another from a different Best Buy Store or get one from an Online Vendor. Different batch and delivery to ensure you don't get another semi-dysfunctional unit. Don't buy from same place as you may get another freaky one. Can't go wrong as I need another AE2500 for my newest self built desktop. I wonder when " N" will be replaced hopefully not for a couple more years.

I have been using Cisco's Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter for over a month now without any problems whatsoever. We have a rather large home and no matter how far my computer is from the wireless router, I have a great signal.

Went to get another model at the best buy store and they were out of stock. So after speaking to the bestbuy rep he explained this model would be exactly what I needed for the number of devices I was going to be using.

I had to install a new operating system and could not find the driver for the wifi internally. I bought this usb adapter and it worked great.

Just plug in and forget about it. Works throughout the whole house and barn workshop. Best purchase ever.

Didn't use the CD. Went to the Linksys Website, searched for Win 7 64-bit Drivers, and blam it worked on multiple Win 7 64-bit machines.

Have not had any issues with it so far. Streaming has been great and reliability is high.

Worked great out of the box. Would occasionally drop connection that would be fixed by unplugging and plugging back in. Drops became more and more frequent. Eventually would only connect for 10 seconds before dropping again. Probably only a month or two of use with no problems. It quickly became a headache especially when printing to a wireless printer. Would not recommend this product. Just purchased a replacement of a different brand.

Saved me $ on computer repairs after losing the ethernet card in my desktop computer after a lightning strike.

needed to get wifi on my desktop and being that i already had a linksys router this was the obvious choice

I have had this adapter for a while and have used it on several machines with easy setup. I have been having nothing but issues for the past 2 months with it constantly dropping my wifi signal, not finding any networks and loosing the driver software. This happens on multiple machines with different and same operating systems so I know it is not my machines or network. I have even set up this adapter on my pc sitting 2 inches from the router and it still could not find a signal. I would not recommend at all

I bought this adapter about a year ago. Since then I've updated my PC and operating system to Windows 8; Cisco doesn't provide driver support for Windows 8 in regards to this adapter. Now it continual drops signal. I have to unplug it, then plug it back into my USB port. I find myself constantly right clicking my WIFI connection bars, to refresh the "Troubleshoot problems." option, because this adapter drops off. Right now I am in the process of finding another wireless adapter, by a different manufacturer. I suggest you don't waste your time or money with this.

Not good at picking up signal. I have a wireless ready laptop and place beside my PC that uses this adapter, I get 100 Mbps in laptop and 33 Mbps on this adapter.
