I have my main router in the basement and the extender on the first floor. The extended doesn't reach much further than the main router.

We told the Best Buy Sales person, we needed a replacement router for our home. (electric storm fried our last one!) We told him we had multiple devices, PC's, and, other devices (we told him about).. So, he sells us one with only 4 PORTS? What was he thinking -- since we were in a hurry we bought it. Got it home.. And, saw the 4 port limit - and, had to go back to best buy to get one with enough ports to at least handle our pc's, and, other devices.. well over the 4 port limit. What was he thinking????
NOT happy with their unknowable sales staff.

I bought it in early May, it worked great for the 2 weeks and all the sudden stopped working without any reason I can think of: the weather was good, no power shortage, no body touched it... So exchanged it in the store for another one of the same item. After 12 days of usage, the newly exchanged one stopped working as well. I had to return it.

This router seems to work OK when just browsing, but if you have kids that use games such as the PS4, get something stronger. Needs re-booted quite a bit.

This router was very small and slender. The price was very good. The software made for an easy setup and installation. The speed of my internet now seems even faster had download speed of 50 before, now I have 63! Nice that this is a combo unit, both hardwired and wireless, I use both, they work great. Great value for the money!

This is a great device if you only have 2 wifi devices. Anything more than that and get the dual band.

My old Linksys WRT54G was still running strong like a tank, but unfortunately it was just not able to handle the higher service speeds that exist today, so I started my search for a more powerful router. I had excellent success and satisfaction with my Linksys router that was from the pre-Cisco buyout days, so naturally I went back to them as my first consideration.
Started searching around, and was shocked to see so many negative reviews on all the more recent Linksys routers I was interested in. So many people saying, "their customer service line is awful", "router won't output over 2-3mb wirelessly, nothing fixes it", "overheats and dies months after install", and several other things. I was almost dissuaded from buying a new Linksys after that...ALMOST.
Expanded my search to some other top name router/tech companies, found some comparable routers with them that I thought I'd be happy with, and then I saw the reviews on those...a whole lot more negative reviews, many stating strikingly similar issues to what I read about on the Linksys ones.
So, after much consideration, I decided to take a chance and go with the company I had trusted for my internet needs for years, and went in preparing for the worst to happen. #Oh, and do NOT use the quick install cd's they give you with routers, be it Linksys or any other brand.# Yes it usually makes the install about 5 minutes instead of the 10-15 it should average if you do it manually and have a decent understanding of how these things work, but THAT is where people end up with so many of their issues. The quick setup install for most of these routers are meant to enable all the settings that the MANUFACTURER has concluded is most likely the best way for the biggest percentage of the market audience...this does NOT mean it is really the best. Many of the issues people had with the wireless signal strength/speed #on this specific router at least# was a very simple setting in the router, and it is likely that the auto install cd is set to turn this feature to the option that causes that issue.
I did the manual setup, and never ran into the speed issue, or any other issues actually. Install took me about 45 minutes, but that was due to my older laptop not cooperating with the procedure, not the router functionality. It's been up and running for months now with not a blip in quality of function. Upgrading from my old WRT54G to this one took my wireless signal from around 18mb all the way up to around 34mb, and my wired from about 22mb up to 45mb #paying for 60mb, but that's broadband, aka "shared" signal, and we all know you should never expect to get 100% with it# My service provider guarantees about 70% speeds wired, and around 60% wireless, obviously with wireless varying more due to increased signal transmission variances.
To sum this up, this is an excellent router for small to medium home needs. I can stream and download content on more than 1 device in my home at a time with no lag, and again, I have literally not had 1 issue with this router so far. Just goes to show that you should take some of the negative reviews you read with a grain of salt. Some #not all, but definitely some# issues that cause people to write bad reviews, are definitely user errors.
I'M GLAD I WENT WITH MY GUT IN THE END AND BOUGHT THIS ROUTER! Linksys has treated me well for years, and it looks as though they will continue to do so for many more!

Unit did not work from the unit to the main PC (wireless signal was fine). Called Cosco support and got 1hr of runaround and a tech that told me the unit is working now when I got Google to load after 20 sec.
I returned the unit and am very happy with my new Netgear setup!

I bought this wireless router to take with me when I travel and for different presentations I do. It is compact and very lightweight, I don't even notice it in my bag. I have another Linksys router (AC1900) and prefer the web interface vs. the application that you are prompted to install. Getting beyond the nag screen to install wasn't as intuitive as it could have been.
So far so good. Range is good, easy to setup and use.
