I be live I am very knowledgable about how to get wireless devices to talk to each other. This device, however, is very frustrating to set up. After attempting to set it up myself, I talked to Linksys tech support for 90 minutes, with no success. I returned the extender to Best Buy. I purchased a different brand which I successfully set up in a matter of minutes. I think this extender is worthless. It only causes frustration. Don't buy it.

We appreciate the time you spent in sharing your experience with us. How far is your extender from the router? Place it in an area where there is still a good connection from the router. Use a handheld device (phone or tablet) to check for your router's signal strength. Once you can find a place where there is still 2-3 bars signal, then that's the perfect location for your extender.

I need to boost my signal in order to have my PS4 that is located in the basement remain synched with my PS Vita. This unit did not help to any noticeable degree. In all fairness though, there is quite a bit of duct work between my router and any location I could situate this booster. Not sure if any product costing under several hundreds of dollars would work.

It might be possible that the range extender is too far away from the main router. It is recommended that the range extender should have a clear line of sight to the router to make sure that the connection remains solid so that it can extend the signal properly. It did, however, take me a few hours on the manufactures helpline to get it working. In that time they had me reset the device and then told me that my warranty was good for a year until a date the was approx 9.5 months out. I told them the discrepancy in the dates and they assured me that it would be good for a year, but it sure does seem like it was set up and warranty activated on someone else's network.
