Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am typing this review from my laptop via wifi directly to an upstairs wifi switch, that the N600 pro is not able to find from the same room my laptop is able to, and there is a straight line distance of 50 ft between the devices from downstairs room and the upstairs room. It is able to pick neighbors signals, but not the closest which I am trying to extend. Will return it tomorrow to store. Device serial number: 16A10P04509189

Decent extender

It's possible my router is the issue too. I am happy enough with the extender to keep it. I do wish there were more tweaks that I could make, though.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The Linksys RE4100W is designed to improve the router's coverage to hard-to-reach areas through a wireless connection. We could try a couple of steps to improve its performance. It is recommended to ensure that your range extender is getting at least 50% of your router’s Wi-Fi signal and is located midway between your router and the area without Wi-Fi. To check your Range Extender’s wireless signal, access its web-based setup page and click Status > WLAN Statistics > Signal Strength. Also, you can set a fixed channel for your wireless network.
