Use a handheld device (phone or tablet) to check for your router's signal strength. Once you can find a place where there is still 2-3 signal bars, then that's the perfect location for your extender.

Boosts the connection

It has trouble handling all the wireless devices and there are so many dead spots in our home for wireless. This booster has helped. What I found is the booster has to be plugged in within 10 feet or less of the device I'm using. Example, I need the laptop downstairs (modem upstairs) so the booster has to be plugged in downstairs by me. The instructions say to put it in the middle between the dead zone and the modem, but I found this did nothing. Plugged in by the device you're using seems to work. I couldn't connect to wireless before with the laptop downstairs and now I can. It's not like being hardwired to the modem speed wise, but it does really help.

Easy to set up and strong extender

Its very easy setup and works great. Only downside for me is that when it gets unplugged by an enthusiastic dog - you lose your boosted wifi. Have to find a better location.

Placing this unit in the upstairs hall way fixed the issue. Now all systems up stairs have access with good signal strength.

That didn't seem to work. I went to Best Buy and spoke with a great sales person who showed me this product and it works great! We can get WiFi connection in our yard without any problems as well as the whole house.

It also dropped out more often than it helped and when it did drop out we had no internet at all. On a positive note though, it did extend the signal though. But it wasn't worth the price.
