We have tried several others, and didn't get good reception in some of the kids' bedrooms. we had to move some of these up to the main floor to get better reception. We have this one in the basement, and even with brick walls in some parts of the house, reception seems fine.

The former was a less expensive model and would "drop" a Kindle on a consistent basis. This one is engineered to have a guest provision, the former did not . This one has been in service for approx. 4 weeks without failure as mentioned earlier.

Unhappily, the setup process was painful due to all the equipment but mainly the printer was the real pain point. It took 3 hours to get it to connect and then it connected only after reinstalling the printer. Overall I would purchase again....just be aware of the setup requirements.
