Customers are pleased with the router's ease of use, performance, and range. Many also highlighted the strong signal and relatively easy setup process. While some experienced connection issues or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative. The affordable price point was also frequently praised.

Had to call support to get router set up due to a problem with the setup disk. After setup, the connections were spotty and after the first day, our smartphones would no longer connect. iPads would have problems connecting. Returned the unit one week after purchase.

VERY UNHAPPY. I found that it was easy to hook up, but every time I got the internet to work on my computer upstairs, it would stay on for about 3-7 minutes, then it would disconnect & my airport would not recognize the router. So I would have to unhook ALL (modem, router, computer) and start over. This would work again for a few minutes & disconnect again. I tried calling the Geek squad- not much help.... Linksys has no contact number on their instructions & the number the Geek Squad gave me was disconnected. AFter 35 + times of this happening, I returned the router.

I'm done with lynksy product I bought this one to replace another lynksy... which I had problems with also. With both product they claim " easy connection" not truth... Do not buy this product.

I purchased this because the wireless modem that I got from Xfinity was not providing strong enough signal to stream in my living room. I explained to sales person the layout/size of my house and even purchased the product with range above the model that he said would be sufficient. Sadly, I still can't stream content in my living room and am not seeing any better wireless connectivity around the house.

I had previously owned Linksys products so thought I would buy another one. It was a mistake. Either the router was defective or it is just a bad product. I had professional installers come to my house twice to fix the problem with no success. It would work fine with my desktop but as soon and I accessed the internet through another source I would lose my connection. I finally returned this product and went with another brand and am very happy. Have had no problems since then.

I bought this to upgrade my 3-4 yr old router but was never able to get it to work! I called Linksys tech support 3 times and spent over 1 hour on the phone. All they ever did was go thru the setup process over and over. They had no idea what they were doing. I returned this router and bought a Net Gear and it works perfectly!! I'm not surprised that Cisco is selling Linksys Division to some other company. Please don't waste your money on this product....

I bought this as it was the unit that Linksys recommended for a medium sized house for good coverage. My several year old Linksys router has disconnect issues and slow transfer speeds on the second floor of my house. The 2.4 GHz range of the EA3500 was no better than my old router. The 5 GHz range was pathetic and useless unless you were in line of sight. I ended up returning this as it was no improvement over my old outdated router.

I have used Linksys for years and the new model does not disappoint. My last one was in use for over 6 years, I only decided to replace it because with age comes less security and newer WiFi standards that my laptop, tablet, media and game systems have I was being held back.
The only confusing thing was that you do need to use the on at least one PC to configure it. It explains this in the quick start guide, sort of, it misses the most important step in the software walkthrough. It tells you to hook the router up to the cable modem, plug it in, and then run the software. I was doing this from my desktop, which is not WiFI, it doesn't tell you to plug a cable from the router to the PC. To me this was an obvious oversight, but to a less experienced person, this could make them think it doesn't work and return it.
Once up and running all my other gear had a nice boost in speed, My wife was sure that facebook games loaded faster and ran the true test with a video streaming service as her laptop was able to see a higher quality connection downstairs on the other side of the house and also it was using the 5GHz signal, it was definitely faster, which is another reason to upgrade as she'll be taking some online courses and need high bandwidth video streaming over WiFi.
I'm loving that it says it can be configured to automatically update it's firmware to keep me more secure and the amount of features in the setup pages are very nice to have. I do't think i'll use the USB port to attach a network drive, but i might in the future, it's nice to have.
I also love the aesthetics, flat with curved edges and no visible antennas to be knocked and disrupt my signal. the only thing I miss is I would prefer the connection lights on the front, not the back where the cables go in, but I can deal with this.
I did take the internet forum recommendation and disabled WMM which tries to prioritize media traffic, which could slow it down, but since i'm not really concerned with that prioritization I turned it off.

Bought this about 6 mo. ago.Replaced my aging WRT54G.It was still working! Could hardly believe how easy the setup was (used CD). Love the dual bands. Downloaded Wi-Fi analyzer from Google then tweaked the channel number settings for each band. Great signal on both channels. This router has never dropped a signal (fingers crossed).Note: if your devices, tv, phone, laptop, etc. don't have 5Ghz receiver capability (many newer ones do) the 5Ghz channel won't show as a connect to option. I found this out the hard way. Channel names, passwords, etc. are very easy to change using the interface page that downloads using the CD.

I was told that this would work excellent with my business needs and found out that I only get 1 -2 bars on wifi and it drops off throughout the day. I'm planning on taking it back to Best Buy. I have cement bloc walls and the router is only 15 feet away from the computer.

Brand response from Linksys Product Expert

Hi Joshua,
We value your feedback on this product. Allow us to look into the situation. Have you checked the connection using other wireless devices? Can you get full signal strength when you move closer to the router? This challenge could be due to wireless interference. Access the setup page of the router to adjust the wireless channel of the router to 1, 6, 9 or 11 and observe the performance of the router.
Tell us the results by sending us an email at [email protected], indicating your name, contact details, location and the link to this post. We'd be happy to assist you further.
Sincerely,
Linksys Support http://support.linksys.com

Was running a Motorola SBG900 was working good, sometimes it would slow down. I run a lot of wireless stuff two laptops, home theater system a couple of Iphones and my office desktop which is hardwired not counting my printers. I upgraded my cable speed so I needed a new modem as charter only provides wired modems I ordered up a wireless router the EA3500-NP ran the CD and followed the instructions had everything up and running in about 5 minutes. It just doesn't get any better then that. I figure I will sell my old wireless Moto and EtherFast on Ebay and recoup most of if not all of what I spent on my new best friend. Way to go CISCO and thanks BestBuy for getting it to me so quickly.

Best upgrade in the house

Needed this to make everything in the house work right. Now we can run the Wii, PS4, laptops, iphones and smart TVs work - even all at once without bogging eachother down. Comcast came out more than once and couldn't tell us what to do to get the internet to work smoothly, but this did the trick. Now we are working quickly and smoothly - together in the house. Love the speed.

I bought this like 3 weeks ago because it was highly recommended. I think I'm gonna have to return it because even when I'm sitting right next to it with my iPad the wifi is slow.

Keeps going off by itself and resetting. I was hoping this would secure my wireless connection.
