Customers are pleased with the router's ease of use, performance, and range. Many also highlighted the strong signal and relatively easy setup process. While some experienced connection issues or compatibility problems, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs the negative. The affordable price point was also frequently praised.

Solid Home Router

I bought this router almost 3 months ago to replace a Cisco router that died. It has been pretty solid and throughput has been good even to the back of my house. The setup wizard was ok, but lacked advanced options upfront.

502 Bad Gateway Error

I got this product about a month ago and have not been able to modify my router settings at all. Everytime I type in my IP address on any of my devices connected to this router, it spits back the error code 502 Bad Gateway. Since I can't modify the router settings I can't even connect my printer to it, which is another hassle. Would not recommend this product or any other Linksys product to anyone, terrible experience.

I have a Linksys E1200 router which was crashing 2 - 3 times every day and tried to upgrade to this EA3500 router. I don't understand all the great reviews. Easy setup? I followed the directions, plugged in the power and used the blue cable to connect the router to my modem but got "Router not Found". Then I tried the same setup process on another PC with Windows 7. Same problem. .I'll return this junk tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, I re-plugged in my former E1200 router and had to recover my Windows 8.1 PC before I could connect to my home WiFi again. Total waste of a few hours of my life.

The speed for my tablet and phone running on it work perfectly, during online gameplay the connection speed is fine enough but of course not always perfect. Definantly worth its price.

SSID Broadcast?

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This week I had to replace my old Linksys as it died and I purchased the package listed as N750 but is actually model EA3500 (Make sense of that one). Setup was fine, except that they require you to create an account for management- annoying but tolerable. However, when I went to locate the option to turn off SSID Broadcast I couldn't find it! After 20 minutes on the phone with their support service I was informed that they no longer offer this "feature" and suggested I simply turn off the wireless networking if I didn't want it to broadcast. She actually offered that as a reasonable solution. That's equivalent to buying a car that doesn't have reverse and being told that not starting it in the first place will solve the problem. Obviously, I am returning it and will no longer purchase any Linksys devices.
If you have no desire to turn off SSID then this will probably work well for you. If however you consider yourself a sophisticated user and want complete control of what you paid for- try someone else.......

Quickest and easiest set up ever. Connection speed is much faster. My previous Netgear router was only 2 years old. Have things changed that much in 2 years? VERY happy with this router.

Unreliable after Super-Easy Setup

Although this router has the easiest set up of any router I've seen, once I got it in place to use it was unreliable.
I first noticed the dropouts when I looked for the signal on my wireless network signal meter. The wireless signal was coming and going; and I mean dropping entirely and then coming back full signal.
I watched it over time and determined that if there was no traffic on the router, then the network would stay available. Once any traffic from more than one device started, it would run for a minute to three and then all the connections would just go away (stop passing data) or just totally drop out. This process repeated as long as there was more than one device connected.
I could have done better with a bunch of long cables and a switch.
Seems to be nice hardware, and the signals were strong but that doesn't make up for the unreliability. See other users similar experience in other reviews.
I would not recommend this router, even to someone who, like me, thought they could configure it to run better than others had in the reviews I had read.

First the bad stuff. Since Cisco purchased Linksys, the service is awful. I called the service number about 30 days after purchasing the product and they were not able to fix the issue. Since they were unable to solve the problem at Cisco\Linksys, they sent me to another company to help fix it That company wanted to CHARGE A FEE to fix a router that was not even 30 days old.
After throwing a bit of a fit, they said they would send me an email with a link to an online form to fill out so they could replace the modem. Then I found out that I would have to ship it back to them at my cost. My next fit came and went back to Best Buy and returned it. Too bad Cisco\Linksys...
The good part was that it was great bandwidth with great distance. But don't try and download multiple files through FTP or other file transfer types. It will firewall that site automatically, burn it to the internal setting and not allow access that site again. Cisco\Linksys couldn't even get it working again.

Setup disc was useless

Router worked okay once I set it up manually. I tried to use the setup disc but it kept asking me for my DSL password. The only problem is that I don't have DSL, I have Charter cable. It wouldn't let me past that screen. Fortunately, I know enough to bring up the config screen in my browser but the average user would have been stymied.

I wanted something new and current to stream videos.Thought my old router might of been out of date. The range was not a bit better, the speed was not a bit better. Then it went unsecure connection on its own and locked me out of the controls to do anything. That is not the worst of it.Linksys support has to be the worst I have ever dealt with. She was working on live text support at the same time as on the phone with me.After a few hours of what I felt was her guessing how to get into the router firmware I got anger because she then tried to charge me $9 ,refused to let me talk to a supervisor, continued with same things over and over for another 30 minutes. Then I was told to take it back to BestBuy for a exchange even though she new it had been 20 days. Then told me I could not call Linksys Support after 60 days from purchase unless I bought a extended warranty. They did not want to honor the first warranty why would I want to buy another one. That was where it was left and I was going to Best Buy when I got a email from Linksys with a Return Authorization number and told to return it for replacement. I wish there was some way I could never ever have to deal with Linksys again. I hope they send a new one so I can sell it at a loss as my own warranty to never see there name in my home again. I do want to say best Buy was not involved in the call or refused to do anything for me, They were not asked to. I know we all have problems with purchases, it is just my turn, I just wish I could put in the Brand Names that I have called that did not act like this.

Bought this router based on the reviews and the fact that I currently own a G series Linksys. Hooking up was a breeze and I was excited to have an N series due to the multiple devices in my home. I have a small home so the distance was not an issue. Day after hooking up I started to notice some of my WiFi devices acting a bit different than before. After performing multiple speed tests both during peak and non peak internet usage hours I noticed that this router was horrible at maintaining a stable, fast signal. I can get 30 MBps plugged directly in to the router but my wireless speeds would start at 11-14 and then strangely drop to 3 then back to 9. Hooked my G series router back up to test and it stays strong at 18-19. Taking this back to try something else.

Piece of junk

Set this up at a customer site. The customer has a secure ftp server, and when I tried to setup Port Forwarding, the settings would not save. I kept getting an "Unspecified Error 2118". Called Cisco support. I was using TeamViewer to connect remotely to a PC in the customer's office and that computer was directly connected to the router. The Cisco support "engineer" insisted that I could not remotely administer the router and could not understand that I was not remotely connected to the router. Asked for an escalation. Waited 25 minutes on hold. New upper level "engineer" starts asking me what internet provider I am using. I explain to her that I am connected directly to the router via TeamViewer. 15 minutes later she is convinced that I am direclty connected to the router. No answer for my "Unspecified Error" so she suggests that I return and exchange the router. This is after 90 minutes on the phone with no attempted solution. I informed her that I would be exchanging it for a Netgear router and hung up.
I have always used and liked Linksys products until Cisco bought them. Have had a string of disappointments since then. Cisco support for their "consumer" and "small business" products is the worst in the business.

Dropped connection 10+ times in 24 HOURS!

Bought this router yesterday after our last LinkSys router (the Class A, $45 model) kept requiring us to disconnect the power cord almost nightly because it no longer broadcast a signal.
Within an hour, I had a bad feeling about this one because it briefly dropped a connection to my Samsung Chromebook and Galaxy S4. I then noticed a fairly regular drop in my connection speed. Ran Ookla Speedtest and, sure enough, got results of 0.1 MB/sec!! It should be around 28 MB/s on my Xfinity connection.
Just now, it dropped connection twice to my Galaxy S4: first when trying to stream an album on Spotify and then again with Netflix. I can only imagine the data usage shock I would've had if I'd been watching a full movie, not realizing this router had kicked me back onto Verizon's LTE network TEN SECONDS INTO PLAYBACK!!
Boxing it up tomorrow morning and taking it back to Best Buy for a full refund. Guess I'll try the ASUS router (Netgear was also a lousy experience for us a year ago).
AVOID THIS ROUTER AT ALL COSTS!!

I ended up losing my mind over this stupid router and throwing it away. I have since found nirvana with my new Netgear router. This router required a CD in order to install. So right off the bat, I had to find the CD because It was lost in the move we made. It asked for the software to be installed every time I started it up! I was already losing my patience by this moment. Then I finally was able to get it to work for a little while. It had the poorest signal! The signal was ONE bar in the very next room! The WPS button was on the back of the router like some "reset" button. Its not able to be mounted to anything. Its not DUAL BAND like it says! The second band never showed up on any of my electronics even though it was enabled. This router was just one headache after another! I will never own another linksys router again.

I purchased the the EA3500 (Linksys Smart Wi Fi Router N750) to replace a Linksys / Cisco WRT54G2. After putting up with very frequent dropped connections (wireless connections to a desktop and two iPads; hard-wired connection to a desktop) for a week I went back to the old WRT54G2.
After a connection was dropped it would take 15 to 20 minutes to reconnect - only to be dropped a few minutes later.
I will taking the router back to Best Buy this coming Friday.

I bought this to replace a Belkin router that was a few years old and too slow, to try and upgrade in connection with upgrading a cable internet connection etc. We are in a multistory home with several kids, multiple users etc and this came recommended by the Best Buy sale man. This is not my first router and I use computers daily. The setup should have been easy but the router couldn't find itself, then couldn't connect to the internet, then couldn't find itself again. I tried all the suggestions listed but after multiple attempts and over an hour gave up. Reconnected the Belkin and it worked so its not the internet connection. The Belkin is just not fast away from the router. Returning the Linksys tomorrow for a Netgear. Normally happy with BB but this was a major waste of time and frustrating.
