Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Velop AC1300 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, expanded Wi-Fi coverage, and strong signal. Many appreciate the improved range and performance compared to single routers, finding setup straightforward. A common concern, however, is the relatively high cost.

My son was complaining about speed on his gaming systems, so I added this so he could have a node in his room. Does a great job and easy to set up.

Easy to install and program. Directions with the app were easy, but there is more you have to do than just program these. You must also disable your modem/router combo or your equipment trying to get on the network will fight to either get onto your router, or your Linksys system. They do not tell you that in the directions.

I was expecting to see something really amazing out of this, but it's just a router. Signal strength is definitely better than having one central router at the cable modem. Ability to prioritize devices is good, but this system in a 1800 sq. ft., two-story house should be amazing in every corner. It's good in every corner, but not amazing.

I consider myself average on the technical side of things. I set up this WiFi system with relative ease and their app works pretty well. That is where the greatness stoped. We have a 2500 square foot one story home. We “cut the cord” and use a lot of data and rely on this system daily. It has failed on many occasions and I have had to reset the system totally 3 times in the last 6 months. Nightly it freezes around 10pm o’clock and my wife and I both rely on cellular data. When it works, it works well but it has many flaws. We have have had 600 mbs all the way to 1 gig access. I have a secondary network that works will outside of this mesh system. Spending 450.00 on a system that does not work is frustrating at best. If I were to do it all over again, I would suggest getting the Orbi system over the Linksys! Maybe someone smarter than me can make this work better but my experience has been horrible so far.

We have only had the Mesh in and operating now for about a week or so. It was very easy to setup. Unlike some reviewers suggest I did not disable the wifi on my Surfboard combo and have so far not seemed to notice any issues. I did test my speed on wifi before and after mesh and seem to have about the same throughput both directions.

I purchased this because my wifi kept dropping. When I did my investigation I determined even though everything is on a single level I was not getting a signal throughout the house. This was simple to install and set up but read the manual before you even unpack the units. At 30% off this was a great bargain, easy to install and has fixed my dropping issue

Used the Linksys Velop dual band nodes two pack with Linksys MR6350 Mesh Router to create a 3 node mesh network. I wanted the extra LAN ports of the MR6350 for wired connections to a docking station and two network drives. The MR6350 serves as parent router connected to my modem in the lower level of my raised ranch and the Velop units are on second level near outer walls. This set up provided improved signal coverage in the second level rooms and outside to patio and front yard. It took some patience, research on the internet, use of the Linksys app and a signal strength app to optimize the placement of the nodes. Instructions could be more clear about the various stages and status light activity the units go through during set up and when powering up, as it can appear they aren't connecting when you just need to give more time for the cycle to complete. Also it would be useful if the instructions provided more details on how to best place the nodes vs. connectivity and signal strength. However, now that I have figured it out, I am optimistic the new system will give me the coverage I am looking to achieve.

After watching a couple of videos online I was able to understand and install these. It wasn't too difficult. I wish they would explain right away that you have to use 1 of the nodes as your router, so in a set of 3 you're really only getting 2 satellites. So, I ended up buying a 4th node to be able to reach another room. That being said, it has been very nice having fast speed internet around the house and my devices not having to jump from extender to extender. This seamless fills the whole house with wifi.

While not inexpensive, the three node, two band Velop system I purchased works just as advertised. It is a major upgrade from the plug-in range extender I had been using. Set up was straightforward. Speed is very good and the capacity is impressive. We had a houseful of guests for a weekend with everyone on WiFi. I sensed no degradation of service. Very impressive. Note that because I’m using this in conjunction with Sonos One speakers I had to set it up in Bridge Mode. This reduces functionality slightly but not in any critical ways.
