Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Velop AC1300 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, expanded Wi-Fi coverage, and strong signal. Many appreciate the improved range and performance compared to single routers, finding setup straightforward. A common concern, however, is the relatively high cost.

I recently installed a new ring camera system in my home with ring doorbell and two cameras the WiFi router from Spectrum was inadequate due to the size of my home. With this product we were able to obtain download speeds over 200mps Linksys also walked me through the installation step by step. Excellent tech service

      Hello, Dark1dog,

For as long as the Linksys App is running on the latest version, then it shouldn't behave that way. Also, you have the option to access the Velop's browser-based administrative tool; check this out: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article/?articleNum=247426 . Should you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to tap us at [email protected] with your phone number and the link to this review for easy reference.

Works great except when a restart is necessary.

Twice in the last six months when the system stopped during the night a restart was unsuccessful and a lengthy reset session with a Tech Service Rep was necessary. Is this normal?

    Amazing WiFi system!!!

We had extremely weak internet signal at one end of the house. We tried an extended that was no help and just added confusion. This product so far is absolutely amazing!! No dead spots or even slow spots. The BB store rep was also extremely helpful in picking this item out for me. Again could not be happier!!

    Intermittent dropoffs

Pros - great for a big house, helps get around issue of walls, awesome customer service - very patient reps, easily accessible. Overall easy to troubleshoot these things Cons - Have had two episodes now where wifi starts dropping off. After 2 two hour calls with customer service, finally seems to be fixed. Involves examining channel assignments. But man, what a pain in the tushy. Overall - happy, but be prepared for some fine tuning. Still better than other routers we've had in the past.

Wish it was a little easier to set up and wish each of the three routers was just a little bit more powerful (for greater range) but overall once I caught up to it, it delivers as promised.

Great equipment previously had a modem router provided by my ISP which if you have one seriously just don't spend the dosh and treat yourself to freedom from headaches. Before purchasing wifi would drop to Kb/ps and go out entirely 4-5 times a week not a single issue since purchasing

I am 69 years old and I was able to figure this out. Works perfect. Cable tried to get me to buy expensive internet because I had no signal on bedrooms. The girl at best buy said to try Linksys first I did and I kept the low internet and saved money.

Our home is an old one with plaster walls, chimneys, and lots of doorways. The three pack was perfect for coverage throughout the house. So far no complaints and great connections. (The true test will be when the house is full of kids and grandkids and lots of demands on the system!)

The Wifi connects immediately! Lived in my home for about 5 years and could never get good Wifi until my Spectrum tech suggested I buy the Linksys. I never could get Wifi outside by my pool, but now I can. It has made a big difference in my life! Thank you Linksys!

So far the system works well, but I think one of the nodes might have an issue and there isn't any way to check it from the Linksys app that I could find

I've actually got a pretty small house but it's old and the wifi signal from my previous router couldn't reach to certain parts. With the velop I know have blazing fast speeds throughout the entire house and into my back yard.

Just installed this past weekend and so far, seeing a big difference. Places that were like dead zones before are great. Used to have wifi signal shut off in the middle of stuff all the time. So far, that has not happened. Very happy with this product!

Bought a three node system to stream in an area 40 feet from home unit. Had to replace the system after one year ( bad mode). Had a replacement policy and all working now. Very pleased with the system and Best Buy provides no hassle service.

    Complete Garbage

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First of all, no matter how close the bluetooth is during setup, you're never going to be close enough. It took 30 minutes of watching the stupid periscope animation during setup *per node* for it to say, "I guess it's technically connected." I had to pair with the Linksys via Bluetooth for the first one--which needs "an app to connect" but never got recognized by the app it was using and that took almost 45 minutes alone. Then I had to unpair, turn off, and re-pair until the app would agree the bluetooth was present--for both of the remaining two nodes. Second: for something that is rated for a 4500-square foot home, it can't even cover a 10-foot length across a room unobstructed much less handle separation by rooms. We had to pair each of the nodes separately to the main node with one stacked on top of the other while setup informed us they weren't close enough. And that isn't an exaggeration--we had to plug them in to the same wall outlet and put them on top of the main node to eventually agree that technically they were connected. I'm still waiting on the notification of when it will be okay to move then further apart. Each one of those took an additional half hour. Third: the connection is absolute garbage. One of the nodes can't connect at all 15 feet away from the main node because it is behind the slim TV. The other node is about 20 feet away and passes through 3 walls by a bird's eye but about 40 feet open space to go down otherwise. It drops religiously every 5 minutes. There's nothing like having to call in on a Zoom meeting to chew through your data because your personal WiFi is absolute garbage. I have been trying to download a 1GB game for almost 3 hours now on what should be a 1gigabit connection. It'll be blue until you start to watch or play something, meaning you're engaging the network, then it'll go orange for a minute, then red. I had a router-modem combo that was nearly 10 years old this mesh system replaced that was not only more reliable, but was a cheap $100 back then. Fourth: you can't choose bands. It gets to choose the band for you. If you turn off mixed bands, you get no internet at all. It just goes and stays red. Fifth: you can't choose channels. It will optimize them for you. How the 3 nodes are placed it is impossible for this system to engage all 3 at once so it can only optimize the main hub and the one you are closest to. Well, at least the 3rd node did that before going offline permanently after the 2nd node was optimized. You don't get to see which channel. You don't get to see the channel traffic. You just get the knowledge it's optimized in your behalf. Sixth: It was impossible to setup parental controls because the connection kept failing. Seventh: Prioritization of devices doesn't mean a diversion of resources because if it can't connect to the node with the prioritized devices (and you only get 3 no matter what kind they are) it *can't* prioritize anything. And absent drilling holes to change where the main router/node is (which has to directly connected to the modem) *and* cutting holes in the walls, my 1500-square foot home is too massive for the capabilities of these nodes. I'm not sure what home has a completely unobstructed view room-to-room (especially at 4500-square feet) but you probably should rethink your living strategy if it's got less obstruction than my no-insulation, hollow walls or 1/8-inch slim TV. We have 2 Smart-TVs--neither of which show up on the correct node (the one obstructing the 3rd node is connected to the one through which it has to pass through 5 walls and boiler 30 feet away, the one 5 feet from the main node unobstructed is connected to the 2nd node 20 feet away through 4 walls, while my laptop has to pass through 5 walls+washer+dryer 20 feet away to the main node instead of the one an unobstructed 5 feet away, for a few examples). And that's not all the devices. There are an additional 4 smartphones, laptops, and tablets; 1 desktop; one node-looking XBox I now hate because it looks like this product; 2 cable boxes; and anything else guests might bring over. Eighth: The mesh part *alone* (because you have to pair it with a modem) was more expensive than the router-modem combo that had a million antennae and promised to be 8 times the machine than the one we were trying to replace. I hate this machine because it doesn't work. I hate this product because it can't deliver on a home 1/3 the size it is supposed to. I hate this *brand* for keeping this product around because once I started looking up the problems it became pretty clear the very "useful" positive reviews saying they had it for a year have ownerships predating the actual release date of the product--meaning they got Cadillac support and probably a free device (and, hey, anything you got free with max support is worth hyping as long as it works *well-enough*). TL;DR: It took 4 hours to set up and 20 years off of my life expectancy. I had to write this review on my cell phone because the connection is so poor it can't even make it all the way through a single review. The 4500-square feet projection is for a completely empty room--as empty as the promises this product offers.
