We’re constantly restarting and reconnecting client devices. Amazon Eero is on order and we can’t wait to throw this expensive mistake in the trash.

Expensive and unreliable

I had it connected to Arris SB6190 (pretty common cable modem). After troubleshooting I found that I have to reboot modem to get the system back online. Rebooting router would not fix it. This happened on a daily basis. Returned back to Best Buy and bought the Orbi wifi system. Have been online for 3 days with no issues. Even before the Velop system I never had that issue before. Seems like an incompatibility issue with modem.

Terrible product, terrible support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Velop system for a while, replaced it in my home with the Orbi, which is fantastic. We bought a new condo, and I wanted to try installing my old Velop in the condo to improve wi-fi coverage. However, setup requires you to use the Linksys app on your phone, despite documentation on the Linksys website which explains how you can set them up with a "local access" option on a wired network. So, the Linksys app on my phone wants me to log in with my Linksys account. No problem, I know my password, I will log in. Wrong, they have locked my account. Okay, no worries, use the "reset password" link, right? Despite submitting a password reset multiple times for TWO different email accounts, I never receive the password reset link. Okay, I should be able to contact customer support and get my account unlocked, right? What a complete waste of two hours of my time. "Sir, can you check your spam folder?" How many variations of that question do you think the tech asked? Absolute no level of skill in their tech support available, no ability to resolve the issue, and no help in escalating the issue. The product is a piece of junk, and the tech support is even worse. Do not buy.

Not made for high traffic

The first couple of days it seemed to work well but when we actually started to use it for months its can't handle many devices. Everyday it drops in and out and it seems like the amount of devices being used doesn't matter. I can be home alone using 2 devices and it won't work well. Even hardwired devices lose connection. The app is ok to use but not the greatest and gives you false speed test. While testing through the app I received speeds around 376 mbps (I pay for 1gbps) which is ok because that's all I really need but when testing from each device I am receiving anywhere between 14mbps and 48mbps. Its very frustrating when attempting to use full speeds.

Worse WiFi connection EVER

Within 3 months the adapter on one of the nodes went out. The WiFi signal output has been tested by multiple people and its horrible. The incoming WiFi is super strong. I have called their help desk several times and they cannot figure out the issue but agree the signal is weak. They tried to charge me for replacement parts under warranty and stated they do not honor any extended warranties purchased through Best Buy. This was the WORSE purchase I’ve ever made and still having issues with weak WiFi signals,

Can't get them to connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm returning these. I spent over an hour and could only get the first unit connect. The other two would start the process of connecting and then tell me to reset the unit and try again. After an hour of trying to get this to work and seeing how much less range each unit has than the wireless routers I was already running have I've decided this isn't worth wasting my time with. I'll just buy another router and set it up as an access point to extend the range.

When adding the second node, it's best to position it closer to the parent node and make use of the Spot Finder feature. pods drop off

Signal Drop

After connecting the nodes are keep on dropping internet connection. I called technical support and they troubleshoot the issue with me and ask me to swap the nodes. I followed the instructions but still having the same issue. I’m very disappointed and Best Buy is not returning it either. I’ll call again LinkSys and hoping to have it replaced or something.
