Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Velop AC1300 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, expanded Wi-Fi coverage, and strong signal. Many appreciate the improved range and performance compared to single routers, finding setup straightforward. A common concern, however, is the relatively high cost.

This product is definitely not for someone who is looking to extend your range. Had better range with the normal router. Went with a Nighthawk and works perfect now

      Hi, MPALOOZA03,

This is very unusual since the Velop system was designed to cover a floor space of up to 4500 sq ft. With a few adjustments, it should meet the projected range of the device.

I have never had more issues with a router. As an IT professional, I deal with routers every single day. I bought these for my new-built home and have had countless issues. They go down without warning, without explanation, and often. Its a NIGHTMARE getting them to come back online, since the indicator lights do line up with each other. I have already had one of the nodes replaced by the company and I only bought them 6 months ago.

We have ATT Fiber internet, and while our wired connections have always been great, the router they supplied us kinda sucks. These have drastically improved our wifi quality through the whole house. I definitely would recommend a mesh system such as this to everyone I know who has wifi troubles.

For the first 2 1/2 weeks the Velop system worked great. Then it started to disconnect from the Spectrum modem. During the past 10 days I have had to reconnect the system 5 times. Only 1 was because of a Spectrum outage. Spectrum claims that I have not had any disconnects from their system except for the 1 local outage. I woke up this morning and wanted to check the news. I had to reset the system. If it stays on the system works great. If you are lucky the reset only takes about 5 minutes. If you have to reinstall it could take 30 minutes.

      Hi Mikef604,

The Velop system is designed to have a stable connection after it has been set up. You can try to swap the Ethernet cable connecting your Velop to the modem as a defective cable can cause connectivity issues. Also, you can try to update the firmware of the Velop system as this usually fixes some issues.

Let us know how it goes at [email protected] with your contact detail and the link to this review so we can have our Escalation Engineers look into this issue.

We have a large split level house and have had problems for years with getting and staying on wi-fi. We always blamed our internet company but our son-in-law recommended we get this mesh wi-fit and we are finally having much better success with getting and staying connected. A great product.

Our home is roughly 2800 sq ft and our modem, which is right under our basement TV, is in one corner of that house. We have 100 Mbit/s advertised speeds from our ISP, and with the modem router we were provided the WiFi range isn't wide enough to encompass all of our rooms. There are plenty of dead spots throughout our home. Enter the Velop mesh network. The first and most important thing to know is that this particular line is NOT the high-end Velop mesh network system, which retails for about twice this price and provides the potential for much faster speeds. No, this is designed and priced for the crowd who need a basic mesh network and need to compete against other systems that come in right at this very same price point. It will not offer a blazing fast experience, but it's more than enough to get the job done. The mesh network is advertised to cover about 4500 sq ft, and I can definitely see that. We used only 2 of the 3 nodes in this package and were able to get excellent coverage in all rooms of our home. Setup is simple and very similar to other mesh networks - you just hardwire your first node into the modem, then plug in the other nodes in areas of your home so that their ranges overlap. You download an app and it walks you through the process. It takes a surprisingly long time for each node to be ready to pair, but once they are it's a matter of pressing like one button on your phone to add them to the network. There aren't a lot of customizable options for your mesh network - it's basically as close to plug and play as you can get - so it's probably not appropriate for businesses that need security and manual control of the connection types and each individual node. However, for home use this is a painless process. It took a grand total of about 20 minutes from box open to completion of network setup. The nodes are all pretty small - maybe about the size of a Google Home - which means that they're relatively innocuous and easy to hide behind other decorative items in your rooms. They do emit a top-side blue light when they're running, which can be pretty irritating if you have one sitting in your bedroom. As mentioned before, our ISP provides us a 100 Mbps advertised speed, so it would be difficult for me to give an indication on how this network performs at very high speeds. However, I do note that placing both our nodes at diametric ends of our house does not result in ANY degradation of our advertised speed - that is, we get 100 Mbps everywhere in our house with just the two nodes. That's more than enough for us to stream Hulu/Netflix, Plex, and work on our computers on a remote desktop connection. We're both very pleased with the speed of our connection as well as the really impressive range of the mesh network. I'm not sure that the Velop system was always priced competitively against other mesh networks, but now that it is, I think it is an excellent buy. Linksys is a really reliable brand when it comes to networking and I would absolutely recommend this to a friend.
