This Linksys - Velop AC1300 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System (3 Pack) - White is hard to set up. Ended up with Eero and LOVE IT!

Description: This is a three-piece dual-band system. Not as much area coverage as the tri-band system, but works well and is more affordable. This is basically for medium sized homes or apartments where you want full coverage and are not getting it with a regular router throughout the home from one end to the other. It is great if you want good coverage out toward the patio or deck and weren’t getting it with the router you had. There really isn’t that much difference between dual-band vs tri-band, unless you have a bigger home and want more coverage. In that case, I would advise the tri-band system. Explanation: The nodes communicate with each other using mesh technology to provide whole-house coverage. They offer seamless roaming using a single network SSID and password, unlike other type extenders that use their own username and password. The extender doesn’t have as much of a signal as the Velop system. Design/Style: The nodes are smaller than the originals and the plugs are in the back toward the bottom which is much better than the old system where they were on the bottom and awkward to plug and unplug. At 5.5 by 3.1 by 3.1 inches, the nodes are about 2 inches shorter than the original Velop nodes, but they retain the same stylish aesthetic. Installation: This system is super easy to install and manage using the Linksys mobile app. Basically everything you need is in the app such as allowing Parental Controls, Device Priorities, Guest Access, etc. Recommendation: I highly recommend the Linksys Velop system. It has a simple setup with the app and you can extend to other rooms so easily without the hassle and worries about them connecting to each other. The app can even tell you a location to place each extended node via the app. What more could you ask for, especially if you are like me and not all that knowledgeable when it comes to things like this.

The Linksys - Velop Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System is one of the best wireless systems available. The Linksys Velop offers everything one needs to build a fast, scalable, and reliable network. The Velop is very simple to setup. The Velop mobile application guides you through the deployment of the nodes and helps you place the nodes in optimal range of one another to provide the best wireless experience. Even more impressive, the Velop wireless mesh system is scalable. This means you can start with one to three nodes, but add on mode nodes should your wireless needs grow. Remarkable! You can connect the wireless nodes to physical network devices using Ethernet connections and expand your network beyond the wireless realm. This was important to me because I have several devices that I prefer (or are required) to use Ethernet. Network speed (bandwidth) on the Velop system is excellent. I currently have a gigabit internet connection and I can take full advantage of the high speed throughput while on the wireless network. This is true even while I move around my home. As my device (laptop/tablet/phone) seamlessly transition from one node to another, I never experience a clip in connectivity. File transfers between systems are fast, HD video stream without interruption, and I can play HD gaming consoles on the wireless network without increased latency or decreased network performance on the wireless connection. In short, the Velop is great! The Velop management interface is easy to use and offers nice features like guest network enablement, security profiles, and speed test. The Linksys Velop wireless mesh system is powerful and easy to use. It is light years beyond traditional wireless extenders. I highly recommend the Linksys Velop. It will change your wireless experience for the better.

While I like Linksys, this system did not increase my connectivity. The signal actually decreased in speed.

All three nodes have stopped working completely within eight months of purchase. Do not buy.

Product did not work well. We tried using it for a few months but our internet was worse with it.

I was past the return date when I tried to take it back and had to buy a stronger, more expensive product.

Works very well when it's working, but frequently needs to be reset and reconfigured, which takes an hour or so per week.

This Velop Wi-Fi system by Linksys is a great configuration if you have a large house. This is a standalone system that offers robust Wi-Fi signal in a dwelling of up to 4500 square feet in space. Our 150 some year old, 1700 square foot farm house, which is full of plaster walls multiple chimney's and a variety of different types of plumbing pipes along with miles and miles of nob and tube that is disconnected and new Romex wiring which is distributing our electricity currently. All of this just sucks the life out of most Wi-Fi producing routers. For years I used several different routers and created a backyard mechanic's mesh Wi-Fi system that kind of served its purpose. Then we got our first Linksys Velop system in December of 2016, it was a three node Tri-Band setup which thoroughly improved or over all signal, but as our girls have aged and desire faster Wi-Fi in their individual rooms for homework, Netflix and YouTube, I was hoping to get another set of nodes to add to our system. So now steps in the Linksys - Velop Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (3 Pack in white) that I actually chose to add to our existing Velop system. Creating a six node Linksys Velop system that absolutely rocks. I have had no more complaints from my daughters about the Wi-Fi speed in their room...and It has improved signal to my Linksys range extender in my garage. I love using the app to manage this system, it makes setup super easy. If you are looking for the most robust Wi-Fi system for your large home or small business. It is so versatile and just works, all of the time.

IT WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED FOR 24 HRS. IT CRASHES 2 OR 3 TIMES A DAY. I AM GOING TO TAKE IT BACK!

With the Linksys since the installation my home phone now does not ring and I cannot make outgoing calls very upset

Devices drop signal constantly. Signal shows strong but all decided are extremely slow. Can barely watch tv.

This sucks. I have one sitting right next to my laptop and I can't get wifi.

We purchased this system in March of 2021 it died 9 months later.

Returned to the store where they did not have item available. Got a refund and bought a different brand

Broke down less than a year after purchase. Poor quality.

The Velop System and App to run the system is very disappointing. Didn’t work after a lot of trouble-shooting.
