Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Velop AC1300 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, expanded Wi-Fi coverage, and strong signal. Many appreciate the improved range and performance compared to single routers, finding setup straightforward. A common concern, however, is the relatively high cost.

Very easy to set up. Increased my signal strength by two bars out of four. Called Customer Service on a technical question not related to the setup and got through with no wait. They were able to answer my question immediately and were very professional.

These were easy to set up and now my whole house is covered with wifi at full signal strength at a higher speed than my Verizon router modem combo. I can now watch woodworking videos in my shop and stream Netflix in the playroom. Awesome.

Our internet was always OK but never anything to brag about, until now! No more lagging xboxes or loading Netflix! This was one of my smartest purchases and so easy to install! The hardest part was logging all our devices into our new network!

    Excellent wifi router

This is an excellent wifi router. We have a 3700 sq. ft. home and I can connect anywhere in the house or even outside on the patio. It seems to be faster than my old standard router. It was easy to set up once the Linksys app was downloaded.

Unbelievable improvement over my last router...

Initially, I was a little unsure about using this system because one of the placements would be about 350 feet away in an outbuilding. Shouldn't have worried, after an easy, pretty much automated setup, the system has performed flawlessly.

    So far, so good!

Easy to install and add new nodes with the LinkSys app. Great range and no dead spots in the house. The only thing I was disappointed in was the parental controls. With my older router, I used a different service (for a monthly fee) that was much, much better than the controls for the LinkSys. Sometimes when you pause, it doesn’t pause. That’s frustrating. If parental controls aren’t an issue for you, this is a 5 star rating. If you want more control of what your kids are doing, go with the competition.

Need to get a new router to handle the download and upload demands of my household. Decided to go with the Linksys - Velop router. Set up was easy and also synching my airport express routers to give me end to end property coverage.

Good product but not for everybody

The system is easy to install and easy to set up, at least the basics. When I connected the first module (basement) to the modem, WiFi was up after the brief initial settings, speed was as suppose to and internet quality was good. When I added the second module to the main floor, it was also quick and easy, I did some speed tests in the main and 2nd floor; the main floor had good connectivity tho not as fast as basement, 2nd floor had really bad internet with some dead spots and slow speed. I proceeded to install the 3rd module on the 2nd floor and it took a lot longer to connect to the modules, but it did. Internet speed and quality increased in the 2nd floor, but wasn't that good. Next morning I had no internet on the 2nd floor, this 3rd module read that it was "OK" and connected to the internet (it wasn't). I restarted the 3rd module and moved it to a better location, but now the light was read, reading "No internet". I moved the 3rd module to the 2nd floor as well, 50 ft to the 2nd module, and when I turned it on, again was reading red. So maybe I got a defective product (a damage module) or maybe the modules do not communicate very well in 3 stories. I tried to set with just 2 modules, but internet on the 2nd floor was not good. I ended up returning the system and getting a 3 band router which works pretty well, still not great connection on the 2nd floor (router in the basement), but better than with the mesh system.

    Best Purchase Ever

After a recent string of car break ins in my quiet neighborhood, I decided it was time for a home security system. After looking online nothing seemed to fill my needs. I decided to build my own wireless system using motion activated video cameras. All of which record 24/7 to a cloud. The problem I encountered was eliminated by the Velop Mesh system. Multiple dead zones in the places I felt had the best positioning for a camera. The mesh system went up quick and I've added 2 more nodes. All of my devices attached almost flawlessly. There isn't a dead zone left on my acre of property. I completed a speed test shortly after install. I'm very pleased with the 50 to 90 mbps download speed and 10 to 14 upload speed the mesh system produces.

    Easy setup with occasional maintenance

Super easy to setup. Software is very easy to use, looks clean. The only complaint I have is, the nodes tend to disconnect more than I expected. The software is quick to give you a notification if a node goes down and it’s pretty simple to re-initialize the node. All this said, Not sure how common these drops are in these systems, but when the mesh is up (say 90 - 95% of the time) it works perfectly.

I love the coverage I get in my house now. We just upgraded from an AirPort from 2011. I appreciate that the system has an analysis for the connectivity of each router in the house to ensure it’s actually doing a good job providing a mesh network. The actual setup took me over an hour. As someone who is tech savvy, I was actually surprised at the tedious nature of the process. I really did not like having to setup over an iOS app. Give me a computer back end interface any day. I didn’t see any instructions for doing that so if it’s there, they must not want us to do so. Now that it is up and running, we are browsing the web without weak spots of trickle speed bandwidth. More than sufficient for us.

This might be a bit early to review as I've had the product for less than a week. I live in a 1600 sqft two-story house (average 800 sqft per floor) and have UVerse as my internet provider. UVerse coverage is spotty, at best, throughout most of my house despite multiple calls and service visits. The worst case example is my Roku would continually buffer or fail due to signal loss. Thus, why I wanted the Velop. I bought it as a Cyber Monday special so my price point was significantly less than the full retail price. *Pros* -Nodes are incredibly easy to set up. -Linksys App is easy to use with good monitoring and security features. -Nodes are reasonably unobtrusive and aesthetically acceptable. -Nodes have two Ethernet ports for direct connections. -Signal strength is fantastic throughout the house when the nodes work properly. -Connects and transitions seamlessly when moving between different nodes. *Cons* -Node disconnected from the mesh network within the first 24 hours of setup. The app didn't notify me and it wasn't apparent until my Roku started freezing up. After researching online, nodes dropping signal seems to be a common occurrence. However, where I'm buying a product to improve the reliability of my in-house network, having one third of my coverage inexplicably fail is a problem. *Overall* The Velop is a good, but not perfect, product for the average user who needs to improve the reliability of their Wi-Fi coverage. **Note** I would give the Velop five stars except for the disconnection issue. I may revisit this review and rating after a month or so if the problem doesn't repeat.

I’ve used the Linksys Velop system for about 5 days now. It’s performs on par with my current system and really does not appear to have increased my WiFi coverage in my home. Set up was easy, with no issues. I just downloaded the app and followed along, it was painless with no hiccups. I figured with the 3 nodes I would see increase in my WiFi signals in the far end of my home. I did see stronger signals, but no real increase in WiFi performance. Perhaps in a much larger house it might be the ticket, but for me it seems that my WiFi is where is was and no better.

Great product. I know how full wi-fi coverage on my house. The App has a lot of information in it and a lot of useful options. The set up (Fios) took a lot of time but that was mainly 45 mins on the phone with Verizon. Once the verizon part was done, it only took about 30 mins but had to start over a few times. Had to start over a few times to follow the app correctly. Set it up last week and haven't had any problems since the set up.
