I've 2 of my 3 nodes fail since I bought this, but Linksys's customer service is decent, and both were replaced. The only out of pocket costs I had to deal with were shipping the failed units back. The strength of the network was enough to cover my house with just 2 units at a time, so. Neither of the replacement nodes has had an issue, so the bugginess may be confined to the V1 version

Best mesh network yet,. Expensive though, ended up returning and getting the google version for almost half the price as it was fast enough for my needs (streaming HDTV, laptops, tablets, phones connected)

Setting up the first node was very easy. Because my set was part of the first batch released, there was a firmware issue that caused the addition of nodes to fail multiple times. Linksys Support worked with me and the issue was fixed by downloading the new firmware. You will probably not experience the same problem since they already have the fix and most people will receive the newer batches. Design is really good, coverage is excellent but here is where it really shines. I've had many wi-fi extenders and was never happy with performance even with the highest rated ones. Velop is different. I have a 100+ Mb fiber connection to the internet. With other systems I get around 111Mbps download/52Mbps upload near the main router and 29 Mbps/11Mpbs near the extender (first and only one). With Velop I get 111Mbps/52Mbps near the first and 2nd nodes and 83Mbps/52 near the 3rd and probably can get even better positioning that node somewhere else. I really am amazed by it . This really is a high performance mesh system not an extender. The only concern I have is that with the app you cannot change VLAN on the Internet port which is required by some ISPs using PPPOE like myself. You're stuck with the provider's modem/router. There was a back door to do that but was removed after the firmware update and you need to get their support involved to fix that. I do beg Linksys (Belkin) to add that capability to the app and allow access to settings through a computer. Despite the few quirks I experienced, I would recommend this to anyone who needs not only better coverage but also little to no loss in internet speed. Very happy with the results and with their support when I finally got a hold of them. I would have given 5 stars if weren't for the VLAN/PPPoE issue that affects my specific setup. Pros: . Nice design . Covers a big home with amazing performance . App is easy to use . Each node has 2 ethernet ports allowing you to connect wired devices to it if preferred Cons: . App has some bugs. Updates will surely correct them . App limitation doesn't allow some types of PPOE configuration without Linksys Support . No IPv6 which could affect a few people. No problem for me.

Biggest complaint is separating the house from being all on one of them instead of equally balancing the load. Not quite sure how to do that otherwise it works well.

I tried the smaller Orbi first and returned it after finding out the satellite wasn't actually Tri-Band, so I went straight to the top and got this super Mesh system. It was okay and the app was a little weird. Setup was okay but setting the 3 Priority Devices didn't work as expected. I was thinking it would make them...priority. LOL Not so much. It actually slowed them down. We have 400mb down without it and 180 down with then set to priority. Crazy right?!?! That coupled with my garage door being some super wifi blocking force when it comes to these was when I returned it. I actually put a node IN the garage and it was fantastic as long as you were in the regular sized 2 car garage. Once you step outside of the garge...still good since the node is literally 12 feet away....close the magical field and BAM, it kicked me to the node clear across the house (35ft away through walls) and to a much slower speed. Open then door and it reconnects to the garage node after a minute and the speed comes back. Its just a regular residential cheap garage door. I know what I'm wrapping around my head if the aliens ever attack. Anyway, the system also dropped one time and never recovered. I could've unplugged it and replugged into the power but decided to stop at step 1 and return it. I did get the Orbi RBK50 and LOVED IT! It's interface is much more friendly too. The Velop seems to work for a lot of people, I'm just not one of them.
