Purchased this mesh Wi-Fi system because there were a lot of dead zones in our house. No more dropped signals!

Works exactly as described! Super easy to set up. My 3000sqft house is covered with strong signal WiFi!

This is a great router, especially if you are trying to create a home wi-fi system that provides even, consistent overage over a long distance.

Easy setup, took about 15 minutes. The problems are that is does't emit enough range for a 5,000 sq. ft. house and the signal strength can be weak at times. Lastly, through the Velop application, I can see that the device(s) in the home aren't connecting to the closest pod to them. Customer service is good but maybe this Velop pod system is better off in a smaller house with some minor software and application upgrades.

All I have to say is wow. I can truly say it's the best wifi system I have ever purchased. There are no more dead spots in my 3300 square foot home.

This WiFi system is very much like my previous reviews of Google WiFi and other such node-based systems. Great unboxing, simple packaging with everything you need to connect to an upstream modem over Ethernet, and the three power cords and the three small towers that act as the hubs. As with competing systems, the Velop comes in a 3-pack and features power and uplink/downlink Ethernet connections. One of the cool things about the Linksys set was that there were reset and power switches on each node device. I did notice that these use proprietary Linksys AC Adapter plugs instead of the much more welcome USB Type C of some competitors. All in all I noticed excellent coverage of my newer home of approx. 2500 sqft. Where the complexity of the home's layout and the far end location of the office and modem make this house too much for any single router configuration. This was the first of the node systems where I saw consistently high speeds at every far corner of the home regardless of distance from, or which, node I was connecting with. I also liked the fact that with Linksys, device priority (the only thing closely resembling QoS in the admin interface) could be assigned to up to 3 devices instead of the usual 1. This allows for all of my work devices to be a priority by day, or maybe our XBox or AppleTV to be a singular priority when needed by the family at night while other downloads and activity occurs. The only downside I found which isn't specific to this attempt at the app-enabled, IoT inspired, multi-node WiFi game is the mobile app's lack of options or customizations. With Linksys, you don't get to give custom names to your nodes, nor can you do things like specify the internal network subnet. It's 192.168.1.xxx for everyone, which while not a big deal, is a security risk if someone gets on your network and wants to find key end points. My guess is the default IP range they'll try is the one you get here. The only other complaint and this one is common to the format also is the lack of Ethernet ports to build out a local network in the primary room of the modem and initial hub. I almost wish these systems came with a traditional 4-5 port router with these nodes as extenders instead of all the devices looking alike, which, if you need more ports, now requires a third device in a 5-port switch or the like. I'm not knocking the core functionality here. Simple. Strong. Fast. Elegant in the home. Just about perfect. I'll go online and begin researching the nerd stuff.

Before installing I use to see up and down in my bandwidth speed. After setuping this, I always see maximum bandwidth speed all the time.

Incredible mesh network! 1GB line and at the furthest point in house (garage) still getting over 100MB downloads. Pricey but worth every penny.

This router is unlike any other I’ve ever owned, it’s promises are bold, 100% coverage up to 6,000 square feet, great for 4k, gaming, easy to setup will it live up to the hype? First impressions: I wasn’t sure what to expect from this router, it came in a large box and was packaged unlike your typical router. I would say the unboxing experience is similar to fancy smart phones, nicely designed box with magnetic enclosure, inside you’ll find the 3 Velop units along with 3 power cords. the tips of the power cords are angled in a way that when plugged unto the device, it angles out to the cord management notch, nice detail. Setup: You won’t be logging into a 192.168.X.X to configure this router, instead, you download the Linksys App on your smartphone and walk through the Velop setup steps. It’s the same Linksys app you may have used in the past, but updated for the Velop. The setup went fairly smoothly for me, my phone turned off a few times while setting up, overall the process took my about 10 minutes to setup all 3 “nodes”. I placed them strategically throughout my house (3,500 sq feet). I have 1 node on each floor, including the basement where my internet comes in and where my switch is. Performance: All I can say is WOW! Every corner of my house has a full signal! I’ve had all types of routers before, FiOS routers, fancy AC routers with 2, 3 and even 7 antennas that promised great coverage. They all had low to medium signal strength in the far corners of my house, it was something I just accepted. Not anymore, with the Velop, 1 node on each floor, the coverage is great, full signal strength everywhere! I was able to set up all my devices with either the app or on the device itself. The devices connected to the network includes ipads, iphones, TV’s, IP cameras, HP wireless printer with AirPrint, thermostat, FireTV’s everything I’ve tested so far works fine. I’ve had the Velop up and running for about 2 weeks, no problems was so ever. The phone app is nice, I can manage my network when I’m away from the house, I can even administer parental controls while I’m away! Conclusion: This is not your “normal” router, if you have a large house and have difficulty getting good wifi coverage, you should definitely look into this system. I’m trying to think of “cons” for this device, but nothing comes to mind. If I had to nitpick, I would say there could be a bit more setup documentation at all in the box. Finally, a router that makes good on all the promises!
