If the slow speed is only true on wireless network of the Linksys WHW0303B, then try to run the channel finder and make sure to update its firmware for further isolation. Each node of the Velop Tri-Band can cover up to 2,000 square feet. However, the number of nodes and the placement of each node depends on a lot of factors. The factors include the layout of the home and potential-inducing obstacles such as brick walls, metal doors, and large appliances. To maximize the coverage, you can place the parent node at the center of your home and place the child nodes in areas where the Internet connection is much needed. This product does not work .. . neither the original or the replacement Linksys sent. Their support is terrible. I spent hours (6 hours during one session alone) with their support team only to have their recommended solution fail within a few weeks (or less). Linksys continued to blame our cable company, which I paid to come out to our house, where the technician clearly demonstrated that Linksys was the issue. Further proof that the issue was with Linksys is that I replaced the Velop routers with Eero routers and have not had a single problem since. When I asked Linksys for my money back, they further demonstrated complete indifference to a customer. They asked me to go through the same process that I went through with their support team something like 10 times, as if that would make a difference. When I reminded them that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome was the definition of insanity, they still asked me to do it again anyway. No thanks. That’s when I moved on and replaced the product. Better than being driven to insanity over a router that doesn’t work. So, if you missed my opening sentence, here it is again ... DON’T BUY.

Signal drops

Experience a lot of rebooting and surge from thunderstorms takes awhile to restart.

Each node in the Velop system should provide a range of up to 2,000 square feet. You can try to relocate the nodes and make sure that nodes are updated to optimize the device.

This was supposed to be an upgrade to my old 6yr old Asus router. I have fiber at 500/500 and my Asus does right around 500 up/down. This new Linksys does about 400 down and 60-100up. I tried to run a cat5e directly to the router and still get same results. We have a total of 5 computers and they all get the same results, wired or wireless. I cannot recommend this as the newer technology is slower and weaker that the old. It's past the 14 day return, so I will live with it for now.

I had to call customer support ( don't do Geek Squad ) to get it going. It took all day with 3 calls. 3rd was great customer service btw, but I got it going. It really is a hassle to figure it all out.
