House of Fun
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With lord knows how many WiFi ready components, 7 cell phones 7 computers, Smart TV's and gaming systems our WiFi was not able to keep up. We needed MORE POWER, well more coverage and stronger coverage for our house. I got us LINKSYS VELOP whole Home WiFi System. It's unbelievable we have coverage in every corner of the house and even out by the pool. All the devices work and nobody is getting dropped or the spinning wheel of death. I wish I would have got this sooner. Easy to setup great product and well worth the cost.

GAVE UP -Reconnected my old router -returning this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I lost an entire evening of work, after setting this up. Would not hold the connection for longer than 10 minutes. Did an update to the firmware - that lasted a whopping 30 minutes - then dropped again. I give up.

The Best Wi-Fi on the market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Velop system is, where home networking is going in the future. Easy connection, nice home integration, goes through 5/8 sheetrock with no issues, hand off to different areas of the house are seamless. The best part is the App both Android and Apple ease of use also control when your away. I had a party and over 30 devices other than my normal daily 15 didn't show any slow down. Just the one hub is great but with the 3 suits anyone with a 2800 sq ft house with a second floor. I can see this easily covering the 6000 sq ft advertised!

Great Product with easy Setup!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently was put into the world of mesh wi-fi with a test of the Google Mesh Wi-FI unit, so now getting to test and use the Linksys velop, i have a good starting point to compare too. This is not a comparative review, so i will stick to strictly the Linksys Velop. Setup was a piece of cake. The box and packaging is excellent as each wi-fi node comes individually wrapped and secured. The 3 power cords, a network cable and instructions are packaged separately. Simply find 3 spots around your house, preferably where you usually would have dead spots, and plug them in. The main node connects to your router/modem so that one has to be close to wherever you have that located. Setup is done through the Linksys app you have to download from the app store. Compatible with both Android/IOS systems. I did not have any glitches, hiccups in setup as some have mentioned. Everything connected and was setup with 30 minutes. I do not have a large house, or multiple floors. I have a decent sized 1 floor apartment. The Linksys Velop 3 Node set is designed for 5,000-6,000 square foot homes so the 3 node set can pretty much get the job done for all homes. If you have a smaller sized place, consider the 2 node or single node sets. Obviously with my limited sized apartment, i did not have any issues with signal from any of the nodes. The Linksys Velop system does a highly recommended job of getting good wifi signal dispersed evenly around any homes. Overall Pros: -Great wifi signal range -No more dead spots -Easy Setup Overall Cons: -Size of nodes. These are kind of like ugly old computer tower speakers that use to exist if you think about it. They do stand up and can hidden behind books, etc on a bookshelf but they do not have the stylized compactness compared to the google wifi set. -Cost. Perhaps these will go down in price, but the Google Mesh Wifi set which does basically the same thing (slightly slower speeds), is $200 less than this set.

Outstanding Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system will only get better. I've had the two node system installed for about 5 days. It is performing very nicely. I am covering my 2600 sq ft, 2 story house with full strength signal throughout. The speeds are outstanding. I consistently test my internet speed about 15% faster than my ISP advertises, which wasn't the case with a previous standard WiFi router. I also took some time to conduct some file transfer speed tests and found them to match what I have read in various professional reviews (like PC Magazine). It was easy to set up and configure. The system is definitely targeted to customers who want to set the system up and essentially forget it. The ability to dig into advanced settings like other Linksys routers is limited within the app you use, but the positive side to this is that it prevents novices from making changes that can have a negative impact. The system received a firmware update right after I got it set up, and the iOS app has had one update since I began using it. I suspect the system with improve to get some additional features, troubleshooting tools, and bug fixes with both firmware and app updates. My experience with Linksys is positive over time and I have no doubt this will continue to be a strong performer.

Unable to get all modules to sync
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this system for a few weeks now, due to an illness and hospital stay I was unable to test the system earlier. I have been using it for the past 14 or so days without much luck. The first module was easy to set up and works great. After downloading the available app, I continued set up for the additional modules (2), but have been unable to get them to connect to the system. I keep getting a message, unable to connect. It also has troubles just finding the additional modules, some times you have to disconnect and try again. I sent an email and got no response, so right now I have a whole house wifi system that only connects to one module and I am no getting the whole house wifi experience. Perhaps if I ever hear back from CS and get his straightened out I may be able to recommend this system. As of right now I cannot, as it hasn't functioned as designed. There is one upside, the one module I did get set up and connected, give a great wifi signal, actually better than he last router I used. So I imagine if I could ever get all three connected, it would be a very good wifi whole house system.

Very Happy Dummie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gateway G1100 that came with my new Fios subscription was woefully under powered to drive our two smart TV's, eight SONOS audio speakers, two Apple TVs, three iPads, two iPhones, an Apple Time Capsule, Ring doorbell, Nest camera and guest services. Nineteen devices in all. The G1100 dropped to Just 0.36 Mbps download with only one TV streaming and two iPads running. Not acceptable. After reviewing options online, I realized that cutting the cable and streaming TV would require much more speed from my router. I've always had very good performance from Linksys products and awesome support even years after a purchase. So when I spotted the Velop in an article on the best 2017 routers I decided to buy it. I liked having two 5.0 Mbps channels in addition to the 2.4 Mbps channel. The directional feature was attractive because the TVs don't move so nothing is wasted. After switching off the G1100 router, connecting Velop was a breeze. Even for a dummie like me. And I really liked the expandable nodes architecture. I live in a 2,800 sq ft two story condo and I get Wall-to-wall reception. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for reliable speed and ease of setup and administration.

It just works! Get it now!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a pretty tech-savvy individual, having built my first computer from a Heathkit back in 1980. I'm comfortable with a lot of messing around with hardware and software, but I'm getting tired of doing it just to get what I need. It can be fun, but I have better things to do now. I have managed my own wifi system for several years, but have almost always had recurring issues with the fact that my traditional routers had trouble pushing a reasonably strong, stable, signal to the far reaches of our large (5000+ sq ft.) house, on 2 floors plus a basement, and very substantial construction, with plaster walls containing a lot of minerals. A really good building to shield OUT radio signals, I'm afraid. This was a continuing battle, with me trying 3 different highly reviewed routers over the past few years, none of which were acceptable by themselves. I had added several repeater/extenders in different parts of the house, trying to push the signal out to where we needed it, with some success, but each lowered the speed, and I still had NO stability over time. I was always having to reboot a router, or unplug/replug/reprogram a repeater, every time there was a small power glitch, or just for no reason at all. My wife complained all the time about how often she couldn't get online without me being there to reboot/reconfigure/re-whatever some piece of "tech stuff". I'd tried every inexpensive method, and even some more expensive ones, to get things to settle in for us, mostly to no avail. I was finally fed up, and decided to try one more thing. Basically, I decided to throw money at the problem. I'd been avoiding the "WiFi Mesh Network" possibility, due to the high cost, and the fact that I already had so much invested in other hardware, which would then be useless. But I knew it just MIGHT solve my problem if I could get past that. We had a huge (32 people) multi-day family reunion at our house last weekend, with everyone having at least one phone/tablet/computer, and some of them several. Last year when we did this, I was constantly messing around trying to ensure everyone could do at least part of what they wanted, and this year, I decided to see if I could get it fixed once and for all. I purchased the Linksys VELOP system, with 3 nodes. It was expensive, yes, but I bought it from my local Best Buy, knowing that I could return it if it didn't do what they said. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to install it until people were already arriving, but I decided, "What the heck, they say it's easy. Let's find out", and told everyone "WiFi will be off for a while, I'll let you know when it's back on.", fully expecting it to be hours before I gave up and put the old system back up. I carefully unhooked the old router, unplugged all the paraphernalia that went with it, and started setting the VELOP system up per the well-written instructions in the Android App. In literally about 45 minutes from unhooking the old, unboxing the new and installing it, I kid you not, I had smooth, full-speed WiFi covering the whole of my house, with everyone back online and working. I fully expected to be packing the thing up and taking it back (I mean, I'm not going to eat a $500 system that doesn't work!) But it DOES! It's been up for a week now, with NO outages, NO reboots, NO fiddling, and NO problems connecting to WiFi in any of the areas of our big house! I keep checking the app to see if there are any errors reported, though I'll supposedly receive notifications if any occur, but it just keeps on humming along. At one point, I had 37 "guest" devices logged onto the system at once, but things just kept humming along. As I said, I was VERY skeptical that this would work like they say it will, and was fully prepared to be hugely disappointed, but I have to say, I'd recommend this for anyone who has similar issues to what I had, if they can afford to pony up for the best. No pulling of new wires, no moving of furniture, nothing but literally "plug-and-play", with the setup handled smoothly by the app on the phone. If you're having similar issues, give it a try. This system really is incredible. I hate how people say everything (yes, everything!) is "Awesome", but this is as close to using that term as I can get. GET IT NOW!

Linksys Velop Mesh Wifi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have done a lot of research between access point from Ubiquiti Unifi AP AC PRO and Netgears Mesh Wifi Orbi. I decided to go with the Linksys Velop 3 Mesh Point Wifi for a number of reasons. However, I only had to use 2 out of the three mesh points since my signal has improve tremendously. 1. All the Mesh points are universal and one is not the main router. Under the configuration you connect one Mesh points to your internet provider's modem or router. Then that Mesh point becomes the main Mesh point for your Velop wireless network. (Orbi does not offer this feature) 2. The Tri-band technology. One band is dedicated for communication between the Mesh Points and the other two are dedicated to the user devices. The technology does not slow down your internet speed at all. I have a stone house and it is hard to get signal throughout the whole house, but when I connected one mesh point on the third floor and one in the basement I get 100Mbps without any dead spots. 3. The three year warranty with support beats any of the competitors. Overall this is a great system and hopefully Linksys will create an outdoor mesh point since I own an acre of land and would love signal out there as well.

Incredible coverage!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent coverage. More than fills my needs. Easy to manage. Initially had a few problems. The Velop did not connect to the internet and Customer Support was contacted. They provided the best support. The Velop would forget everything and have to be reset following a power outage. They determined it to be faulty and quickly replaced it. The newer Velop immediately connected to the internet. The entire set was configured and functionig in practically no time and is working like a charm.

Works like a charm
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have At&t 100 mb plan in a two story house. I was having problems reaching the wifi to the end rooms. A wifi extender did not solve the problem so I went for a new/more powerful router. The guys at bestbuy mentioned this to be the new technology and convinced me to try it. Can I be more happy about it. Not only wifi reaches every corner of the house, I have over a 100mb everywhere in the house. The way it works is just great, all of our devices switch to the closest node to guarantee top speed. Installation was EASY. I know very little--nothing really--of network configuration. I have never even learnt how to change the name/password of my home network, but with the Linksys Velop App I did all the set up myself. I can switch name and password anytime. I can even control who has access to the internet. Block access to certain websites. Oh trust me IT'S GOOD. It is a little pricey but it is so worth it. I work from home and internet is a must for me, I consider it a good investment. I was worried because the box showed two tall towers, but my wife found them to be decorative, that was just a plus. Happy wife...
