Setup was a snap. The connection speed is much more stable than my previous mesh system and my signal strength has improved significantly in my basement. Aesthetically, the node design is a plus and doesn’t stick out in my home. I’m super happy with this system.

Simplicity + working technology = one heck of a product. That is exactly what you get from the Linksys Velop. I've been in the home networking realm from the beginning of personal wireless routers and it's absolutely incredible how far we have come. The Velo provides a way to blanket wireless connectivity throughout your property (yes, not just your house!) in the most painless way I've encountered yet. The package comes with 3 units called "nodes" that you spread throughout your property that are responsible for creating that blanket coverage. These units are sleek and just require to be plugged in through a wall outlet. To begin initial setup of the first node, you download an app (I used the iOS version). This app also served as your administration interface to add additional nodes and customize other wireless settings! I know everything has apps in today's world, so I get skeptical as to how well it will behave and look. I'm happy to say that the app is very functional, visually appealing, and worked extremely well on my phone! Setting up the main node was a breeze including WPA 2 encryption. Clear images and a step by step guide were given along the way right in the app. Choosing good spots for the other 2 nodes was easy to take full advantage of the range. Adding these two nodes was just as easy as the initial node and before I knew it I was up and running with one access point in the list of open wifi connections! The nodes work together and do not make you choose which one you may think is the best to join! Some unique things I can share about my experiences with performance: 1) I have virtually flawless wifi now on my whole property 2) With all the wireless devices I have, I still was able to connect a blu-ray without wireless connectivity through the Ethernet port of the one node. Yes each node has an Ethernet out on it! 3) An Apple TV that is in my garage and of which I use to stream my workouts now has flawless playback. An issue I had with the standalone router. In fact, the one node is located right in my detached garage! 4) Speed has been top notch despite all the devices I have using it. 5) This last one I'll talk about is something my wife absolutely loves. I don't have a huge router sitting on a shelf anymore! She gained more space and now doesn't see what she considered an eye sore out in the open anymore! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an amazing experience for wireless connectivity through the home. No range extenders and easy setup through a very capable app make this an incredible package!

I setup the system easily in a matter of minutes. I have a previous wireless router which the Velop blew out of the water. I have 3 Velop modules setup throughout the house and have consistent speed tests in all areas of the house that are similar to standing next to the main module. Speed test from my previous router drop by about 70% at the ends of the house. The Velop completely solves this problem. The only complaint I would have, as voice already in other reviews, is the lack of a USB or maybe a USB-C port for adding peripheral devices to the network.

The BEST Mesh wifi you can get - 350Mbs!!! (my max

WOW. What an impressive product. If you have a difficult house or area like I did, don't bother with anything else and JUST GET THIS. I tried a powerful wifi router (no better than my TWC/Spectrum modem/router), a wifi extender, which was ok (netgear). But the Linksys Velop - man it's incredible. I have a 3 story house and couldn't wire ethernet to certain areas. Set up one node in my office, and ran ethernet from the node to my desktop mac - I'm getting 350mbs! And the Velop is using WIFI to get down to the basement area to connect to the modem/router! And then upstairs, another one with more great speeds. I am just blown away. And this is all a 5Ghz network! 5000 square foot house BATHED in fast, high quality 5Ghz wifi. The entire property from the corners of the land, all levels, gets some wifi now, even if the speed drops a bit (still fast though). JUST BUY IT. Don't worry about the price, just know it will solve your problem. The BEST thing about a mesh network really, and this is true of all mesh (but the velop is the best as far as I know in terms of speed), is that no longer do people have to manually switch to whatever wifi is the strongest in that area of the house/property. I had people who wanted to livestream and go from area to area, this is the only way to reliably make that happen, as it's all one network. So just perfect.

Decent product but difficult to manage

I wanted to love this product. I really did. My current router is the outstanding Linksys EA9500 and it has been an absolute joy to use. However I do have a bit of a challenging "dark spot" (an all metal outbuilding) for which I would love to provide coverage. The Linsys Velop looked like a reasonable option. The units themselves are gorgeous to look at - almost modern art and are well packaged. The addition of a 3 year warranty is one of the best deals in the industry. The problems came when we tried to get them deployed. The Velop can only be managed via the Linksys app, which uses Bluetooth to connect. That's pretty neat, but we ended up trying 3-4 times before being able to finally connect and get setup. We actually had better luck pairing the two devices before starting the setup process. Once it was going, it was pretty easy to manage things via the app, although I'd prefer to manage it via a web interface and a keyboard and mouse. The features didn't seem to be anything other than basic, with the ability to prioritize devices on the network. Still playing with that. The WiFi coverage seems pretty good, and we saw very good speeds (around 30mbps, which is the limit of my connection) on the 5Ghz band that the phone was connected with. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the satellite stations to connect with the base, despite being well within the coverage area. Maybe a reset of the satellite would help, still working on that. In summary, the Velop is going to have to compete against similar products from other vendors that are simply easier to manage.

Is It Possible to Improve Perfection?

Linksys has done it yet again!! I have experienced an immense amount of blazing Wifi speeds from Linksys until this time I said to myself, “Can this product possible out perform the previous 2 products that I have?” The answer is a resounding, “YES!” The true question is “What is there NOT to like about Velop?” The packaging of the product arrived so neat accompanied with professional graphics on the outer box. The 3 routers are pretty and they can set anywhere in a home and will only add beautiful aesthetics. My next quest into Velop was to test her performance and again, she did NOT disappoint. I retired another Linksys product, the EA9500 which delivers blazing fast upload and download speeds along with superior coverage in order to see how Velop works. I recently switched Internet providers; as a result sometimes into the wee hours of the morning, I get a message that says, “No Internet” no matter what device I am on. I have to admit, I got this same message with my old Internet provider, so am not sure why this is so. Last night while on the Internet during the wee hours, I didn’t get this message. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Velop has filled the void where I lose Internet connection for a few minutes. Also, I streamed a movie last night without any hiccups. This is something that only time will tell. But, so far, so FABULOUS!

The perfect whole home wifi setup

Firstly, I would just like to say that setting up the Linksys velop has to be one of the easiest things I've ever done. After connecting it to my modem I followed the simple steps on the phone app. It had me wait until a light turned purple and simply connected everything for me. The next node repeated the same steps. It's super easy! Secondly, not only is the wifi amazing but being able to hard wire an Ethernet from any of the nodes to my devices (tv and ps4) makes it really easy to get my primary devices a stable wired connected. The wireless connection has been next to perfect. I pay for 200/mbps down from spectrum and easily am pushing 230+ at all times. The cool thing too is at my living situation I live in a finished studio behind a home. We share the nodes, one in my room and two within the house. Through walls, in the basement I mean you name it and we have a good wireless connection everywhere. The Linksys app is pretty sweet too. Being able to run a speed test from work and change my device prioritization all from the app is great. You can setup guest networks on top of your two 5ghz and one 2.4ghz networks. Overall I'm very pleased with this setup. There were a couple other options like Google or eero etc but for the size of my home and my needs the velop sealed the deal!

Excellent Technology - Needs Assistance Installing

I installed the Velop out of the box and candidly it was a challenge. The phone app is the only instructions available and is a prerequisite to install and manage the Velop. The firmware was back level and each node required a different process for installation. Two needed the direct interface into the router negating the value of the phone app. I needed to be on the phone with the Velop support staff who were very helpful and stuck with me start to finish. The one node that was able to take advantage of the phone app, installed quickly and easily. Unfortunately, the phone app has bugs and defects. I can now use it to manage the Velop, but due to the installation process I will eventually need to reset all three nodes and start the entire process over using the phone app exclusively. Honestly I don't have the stamina. Now for the actual operational aspects of the Velop. It works as advertised, it offers excellent performance and has substantially increased my coverage. Once the the phone app is corrected and is error free, this will be a 5 star product and will rock your world. Until then, make sure you have support on the phone, and accountable. for the entire process,

Let me first say that I live in a 3 level home and I have always had problems getting reliable speeds in basement theater. I did notice steady download and upload speeds, But now the problems the app does not allow you any real control. It is plain and Vague. It would often freeze in the middle of me using it on both android and ios. I think with better and quick app updates this will be the router setup to have. This is Linksys so I can't imagine this going ignored long I will revise my review at this time

    Huge Improvement in Wifi

This was the 3-pak in a single level residential application. I hooked it up to an AT&T Uverse modem/router/Wifi which provides 12 Mb/s for $54.00/month. The Linksys App stepped me through the setup (and best location) of the three towers without a hitch until the internet connection at the Uverse modem dropped. I went into the Uverse box at 192.168.1.254 and rebooted to correct that problem. Everything works better with the mesh Wifi in the house. I think I need to deactivate the Uverse Wifi but am unsure which button to push.

My ASUS AC1750 wifi router had a hardware failure after 2.5 yrs and needed to be repaired or replaced. I opted to replace it, since it never did provide great coverage or performance throughout my house (3500 sq. ft.). Needless to say I was not happy about the short life of that product, which was one of the higher priced models at the time of purchase. The sales rep talked me into this Velop mesh solution after inquiring about my environment. I set it up in about 45 minutes, and it performs great. I have not found any dead spots, and the performance is fast everywhere throughout the house and in the driveway. Not sure about the back yard yet, since it's winter. I did need to call Linksys tech support after a glitch in setting up OpenDNS. The support experience was great - 24x7 phone support, did not need to wait to get an agent, and the agent was courteous, knowledgeable, and walked me though the steps to solve the issue. Would be a better solution if it had more advanced content filtering and more robust parental controls, but OpenDNS provides good content filtering. Overall I'm very happy - my expectations were met for an expensive product.

Velop was very easy to set up and the app is easy to use every day. This router system provides me with every bit of service I pay for in every nook and cranny of my home. The speed and strength is extremely reliable and consistent even when I'm streaming on multiple devices at the same time in 4K. I previously owned the Orbi system I think this is superior.

Our Velop system replaced the single Wi-Fi output from the Frontier FIOS router. It was a no brainer once I connected the Velop to the correct router port. To get past my failure to use a light to see that I was trying to use the WAN port, I called support, quick connection to a person that had the solution ASAP. Please connect to the correct port. He stayed online to insure the rest went well on the first try. It did! Great system, great support and so simple. Wi-Fi everywhere in the house! No more dead spots.

The Velop is a great setup if you're looking to improve the range and signal strength in your house. The setup is super easy with the app (had mine setup in roughly 10 min) and it guides you through the whole process. The only downside to me is that it only has 2 Ethernet ports on each box. This was a stressful setup, but well worth it after it finally worked. Two of my nodes set up in less than 5 minutes each. The third refused to set up for over 2 hours. I tried to contact Linksys customer service and the agent left the chat as soon as I told her the product I was having difficulties with, and it wouldn't reconnect me with a new agent... so I was stuck. I was about to throw that node out the window and into the snow, cursing the name linksys for eternity, when the last node FINALLY connected to the rest of the system. I didn't do anything different, it just finally decided to work. Well, I have one node in the living room, one in the downstairs, and one by the patio, indoors. With that, I get full bands of wi-fi anywhere in the house, even when multiple devices are being used. I get wi-if on the back porch as well as the carport. It's casting a pretty wide "wifi bubble". Just FYI, I have 4 iPhones, 3 iPads, three laptops, Xbox, PlayStation, TiVo, three Roku, and two Apple tvs all connected to the wifi. Works great!
