Solve all my internet signal problems in my house. I have a house of 7 rooms and the product of two towers, being well distributed in the house, allows the use of the internet with the same capacity of the input signal. I recommend without a doubt!

    Single node works great!

I purchased a single node for my 1500 square foot home. It was easy to set up. Named my network and pass as previous router. I pay for 100mps and with my old Apple airport express I was only getting 40 near the router. With the velop I’m getting 115mps near the router, 80 in my room, and 45 far room of home. I purchased this on sale and may get another to put on other side of home. All of my smart devices connected automatically to new router with no problems: sonos one, nest hello, nest protect, google homes, Apple TV, philips hue, etc.

I have had this Volpe system for less than a week. The system was set up easily by using the Linksys App. To date, performance has been excellent. Set-up instructions on the app were easy to follow, but I did have a question for which I could not find an answer on-line. Tech support was reached with ease and with only a very brief hold. The technician with whom I spoke quickly answered my question, but then took the additional time to assure that my system was properly set up and running. His extra effort was appreciated.

Having just bought a Netgear nighthawk A6 super router and having the most horrible connections even from 2 feet away, I decided to return the netgear and try the Lynksys Velop. Amazing and my streaming is flawless throughout the house. The set-up using the app could not have been more simple. True, the cost is a bit prohibitive but honestly worth the money now that I actually see just how good it is. I have upwards of 12 devices on the router in a 3200 sq ft home and whole home music throughout that goes through the router. Not a single problem.

    Great Mesh Networking System

The Linksys Velop is a great system with great range, easy, setup, ethernet backhaul, and solid stability. I've owned my Velops for about a week now, and have had no outages of my connections to the Velop. While my internet speeds are not super fast to begin with (70mbps), I get the full speed that I'm paying for with no lag or latency spikes. I game decently far away from the main gateway Velop, and have a great ping with full bars on my laptop. I do recommend that you make sure your devices support 802.11ac wireless to get the full advantage of this or any other mesh networking system. The Velops have to be setup with the Linksys app, but after being setup and updated, you can also access them from a browser for some more advanced settings. All-in-all, The Velop is a very strong competitor in the crowded market of mesh networking.

I bought the 3 node system, finally got around to set it up, and honestly got a little nervous because it would not recognize my modem. I called tech support and they couldn't get it to respond either after trying everything and apparently I had a bad batch, hard to believe all 3 were but none the less they were all duds. Linksys sent me a new 3 node system, I unboxed hooked up and was up and running in 15 min all all 3. Very easy setup via the app, and great coverage. Only wish it had a couple more plugs for a wired connection but not that big of a problem.

I bought this recently for my home. I have a 2500 square foot house this cover 6000 square feet I get continual uninterrupted covers throughout my house and my entire yard. It is much better than a system that just has a router extender because it allows you to go wherever without having your device jump from your router to your router extender. This system allows you to seamlessly jump from one note to the other without even noticing and it is also smoking fast if you have a good enough ISP I would recommend this to anyone

Very good wireless mesh system for non-tech users

Powerful whole home wireless mesh system but not the system for me. I would recommend this system for non-technical or more novice users looking for an excellent wireless home network and not for technical or advanced users or users that have are large home network made up of wired and wireless devices. The wireless nodes are a nice design and aesthetically pleasing, as they do not look like networking equipment. The power bricks do not block the additional wall outlet plug but will take up two to three spaces on a power strip or UPS depending on the orientation of the plugs. You will notice right away when you open the box that there are not any installation instructions other than download the app. I already had the app as I use it to manage other routers but I had to remove and reinstall it before it would see the Velop system and start the installation wizard. The app setup wizard failed or just hung a number of times when setting up the parent and child nodes and the app had to be restarted in order to continue with the installation. More than once I had to use the reset button on the child nodes before getting them fully configured. I wanted to incorporate the Velop system with my existing high-end Linksys router and ended up having to call tech support to assist with the configuration. What should have taken probably 15-30 minutes ended up taking over 2 hours to fully configure. Wireless performance and coverage was quite nice generally, but I experienced some drops in speeds sometimes. I have a high-end Linksys wireless router and the wireless performance between the two systems were close to the same in my 3000+ sq. ft. house. Close proximity tests ranged from 310Mbs to 555Mbs. 30-40 feet away tests ranged from 196Mbs to 321Mbs. There were a handful of times though that the speeds were reduced to 20-30% of those results even though I was in very close range of to the node. Being an advanced networking user my first complaint is that there is no direct configuration or administration (i.e. web portal). The only way to manage the devices is from the app and configuration options are basic with only a handful of advanced options. There are no real advanced configuration options. Another drawback for me is that there is only one LAN port for wired devices. I have a large home network with many wired and wireless devices connected all of the time, which would require me to purchase an additional switch. My next complaint it that there is no support for dedicated wireless band or Wi-Fi networking control. In addition, I noticed that I had a number of devices that seemed to keep getting moved over to the 2.4GHz band. Finally, there is no USB ports for printer sharing or external storage. Both of which I need. All in all it is not a bad system. I would recommend this for non-technical users who need excellent wireless performance in a larger area. It would be nice to be able to use the nodes as access points or wireless extenders.

The Velop mesh network is simple to setup using the downloaded application. The only drawback I have with it is that there is no where to configure timed access control for certain devices. It will allow you to manually block devices from the network. Also, Velop doesn't allow you to changes to channel or frequency you want to connect to. This may be a plus for users who don't care to access the more complicated parts of the routers system. On the plus side, the network is really fast and simplistic.

Solved my WiFi coverage and speed issues

Have a large ranch style home that needs wifi inside and out since AZ has nice weather most of the year. I had a router and an extender but was always having to switch to get the right wifi and we had lots of areas with weak, slow, or no coverage. Read up on tri-band a lot and went with Velop due to reviews. Setup took four hours due to ISP issues with the new modem and switch I installed. Would have been under an hour without that for all three nodes. We now have great coverage all over the home and outside as well. Great product so far.

    Love It!

I'm loving this Velop system. My old network setup consisted of three Asus routers. One was the main Access point and the other two were setup as repeaters. First off each repeater only has half the bandwidth of the one before it. And my connection just wasn't very good this way. I had device density problems because the equipment just couldn't handle the amount of devices connected to it. All of these problems went away with Velop. My Hulu used to buffer a lot before. I hasn't had to stop and buffer even once since I hooked up Velop. I was even able to use one of my Asus routers as a repeater still so I can get WiFi all the way to the guest house on the back side of the property. I was a little put off by the price at first but I'm very happy I talked myself into it. Thank you linksys.

What a great wifi system. Never drop connection and is super fast. Love all the extra features it has like DDNS and other integrated options which aren't always an option. Missing a couple things in feature like VPN but realistically isnt something everyone uses (I wouldn't at least not right now). I bought it when it first came out and had some issues but Linksys is very helpful by phone. Lately it's just set and forget. Just wish it was cheaper so friends would take my recommendation and buy it

    MESH WIFI Done Right

Finally, MESH WIFI for residential use done right. Bout time. MESH WIFI has been around for years but mainly for commercial use. Install was pretty much a plug and play using their app. Performance and coverage is VERY good. No performance tweeking was required by me. The software that runs the mesh is fairly intelligent in terms of managing the mesh and its performance. No dead spots, and no dropped connections thus far. Super easy to expand. I have a 4100 SF, 2 story house, and the 2-node kit works well for me. Impressed so far.

    Great signal throughout the house

If you need signal in every corner (including patios, etc.), Velop is the answer. For the first time, we have strong signal and great speed everywhere. And, using the Velop app made set up easy. The only con for Velop is that MAC address filtering is not possible. Even though the unit supposedly supports it, with more than one unit, turning on MAC filtering makes the other units invisible. LinkSys says MAC filtering does provide absolute protection (true), but it does help keep all but serious hackers out.

Upgrading to Velop took 2 days - works well

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Velop - works great, though had serious set-up problems with 3rd node. First node installed well (now parent). Second node installed pretty well when 4 feet away of 1st node during installation (now child) (You can tell the second node was working once it joined the system on the mobile app. Once it showed on the mobile app as part of the system, then I could unplug and move it to the location I wanted in the house and it would automatically reboot correctly after plugging it back in.) Third node - different story. After about 20 attempts, I pointed the nodes - dotted sides together - inches apart, I reinstalled the app on my mobile, and on a Sunday afternoon when any sane person was outside enjoying the beautiful weather, and all other devices were turned OFF in order to have no other electronic signals mettle with the connecting third node, the signal of the third node (child) finally picked up the signal of the first node (parent) and within - seriously only two minutes - the app cycled through all of its work and the node was up and running. I imagine this is what Linksys had in mind when they made the product, too bad it took 20 times to get the third node connecting. The third node light turned a steady blue color once it was fully connected. The third node showed up as part of the system in my mobile app. Once it showed up in the app, I could unplug it and re-position it in the house where I wanted it. It automatically rebooted correctly when I plugged it back in. The app continued to show it was part of the system and went from online to offline to online as I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Now my very long rambler house has internet working very well throughout any section AND I can prioritize devices as well as set parental controls and also actively see how the nodes are working. Pretty cool technology once it's working!

      Hi, Brenda,

Adding child node(s) should be easy if your Velop System is already set up and working with an internet connection and provisioned with a Linksys cloud account. We already took note of your experience in adding the third node and relayed it to our Product Management Team. Should you encounter any challenge in the future, we're just an email away at [email protected].

This is BY FAR the fastest wireless network I have ever experienced!! Pros: - SUPER fast - Dedicated "backhaul" channel for talking between nodes. - Brain dead easy setup - Attractive and not "clunky" router look - No external ugly antennas! - HUGE range and blankets your entire home in super fast wifi Cons: - No advanced features like DHCP range adjust or specific IP reservation through Mobile App - No web based admin.. mobile app only.. - *EDIT* Have to use Web App "back door" for advanced features.
