Good router, but little pricey.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had Velop for a couple of weeks now. Put one in living room, one in sunroom and one in kitchen. Easy to set up with the app. Only took about an hour to get it going. All my devices connected to wifi and have good coverage through whole house. We have about 2700 square feet. Wanted to put one in bedroom in other end of house but could not get it to connect. Put it in kitchen instead, but still have good signal in bedroom. I really like the Velop wifi system. No problems so far.

Fantastic!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had the Linksys Velop Whole Home Wifi System for over a week now and it has worked wonderfully. We have a 4000 square foot house and placed the routers on opposite sides with one upstairs and the other downstairs. We have had almost a dozen devices running off of it the entire time and haven't experienced any connectivity issues thus far. Set-up was simple and the installation app was easy to follow and allows you to priotize devices and see what's connected. I most definitely recommend this product!

Top of the Line System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading specs and reviews, I found this system got high marks and the best specs. After a few weeks now, its living up to the hype. The set up was pretty easy. I had one issue where the second unit was not connecting, but I just had to reset everything then it worked. I have solid coverage from two units everywhere in the house with no drops (2200sq ft). The connection is handling two streaming tvs, an xbox, two tablets and 5 phones. Paired this with an Arris router. Way better than the comcast setup.

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home is 6,000 sqft concrete block and my previous AC3100 just couldn't deliver to far ends of the home. My home does not have Networking cables ran through the walls and running new cables through the ceiling is near impossible for an Access Point. Which is what led me to the Velop 3 pack. I have 170 Mbps at the modem. Before Velop I had 12 Mbps in my living room. I now have 110 Mbps. This is a very expensive router but it is definitely worth it. Setup is a breeze and took maybe 15 minutes to setup all 3.

Mesh Network like it was meant to be!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have finally found a solution that lets me get rid of ethernet cables, and truly cut some cords. I've had it installed for just about 10 days now and the performance is amazing. We have 3 TV's streaming, and someone on an xBox, with a couple of people browsing and we have no degradation of signal. I do have the 75mb Blast from Comcast, but the internal network over the wireless is true GB speeds. I have no need to run things through a switch any longer. Easy to setup too. Definitely a 5 star device!

Great WiFi system!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up took a bit, but after getting set up, the control I have through the Linksys app is amazing! Would definitely recommend for those who are thinking of upgrading their system instead of range extenders!

If you want EASY, look no more!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a home that is around 3,300 sq. ft. I have my central hub for my network in the washing room which is at the center of the house on the second floor and just ONE of these units covers my house INCREDIBLY well. I mean it. This unit is no joke. Linking the other 2 units throughout the house just made my internet so well spread out and I truly felt like my WiFi was blanketed. I chose this over the Orbi because this is a true mesh system and because if you have ethernet cord throughout your house already wired up -- you'll want this unit over the Orbi because you can directly connect each node to the wall and give a full signal off. the Orbi DOES NOT do this. The Orbi is a pure hub to Satellite system. That means that if your satellite doesn't get a full signal from your hub, you can't directly connect the satellite to ethernet in the wall and have it give off a full signal. But with the Velops, you can give off full signals from each one in a VERY easy setup. The setup for these Velops is incredibly nice. Although these units are incredible, there are a few improvements needed to be made on the software for the units. The app has a good start, but it still doesn't feel rugged and reliable. Currently my app tells me that i'm directly connected via ethernet when i'm CLEARLY connected via WIFi. Also, the app doesn't to a good job of showing the currently connected devices. It lags for a while before showing the true connections at the moment. The app also doesn't show what node i'm connected to very well. it always says i'm either connected to "--" or connected to the main router in the wash room. Finally, I wish there was a admin portal that I can access on my laptop/desktop. ALL admin controls are on your mobile app. The great thing about these is that the software issues/features that I'd like to see addressed have a good chance of being addressed since LInksys will be actively supporting this product! That's a HUGE plus!

Awesome Awesome Awesome
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very skeptical giving the price relative to other home WiFi in the Market. The store manager who uses the product at his home was available to highlight the features and actually test his wifi upload/download speed from the store on his phone. I currently pay for 75 speed wifi but constantly get 95+ speed wifi using the Velop. The range is also awesome! In a 4500 Sft house the Velop is great with full range connection everywhere within and outside the house for the outdoor cameras....

Solid Performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased to replace an aging router and to extend range instead of buying another AP. Setup was very simple with two drawbacks not explained during process (you have to set up the nodes wireless instead of setting up one and then hard wiring to another) and the color on the nodes isn't correct (pink instead of purple). Speed is almost perfect: testing at 130mbps down on 150mbps service. Range is great and have total house coverage at 2400sqft.

Optimized for distance, not speed. Limited admin
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, let me preface by saying that I'm coming off using an EA9500, a traditional router that costs $100 less than a Velop 3 pack. I also live in an apartment building with a highly congested 2.4GHz space; so bad it affects speeds dramatically and makes the connection highly inconsistent. With that said, I wasn't really impressed with the Velop at all, for the amount of money it will cost you. It runs on 2.4 and 5.0GHz bands but which your device is connected to is entirely managed by the Velop mesh router themselves. You can't select it yourself. So for some *stupid* reason, even though my Galaxy Note 5 is capable of connecting to the 5.0GHz band, it connects me to 2.4. Because of this I get a slower and inconsistent connection due to the 2.4GHz congestion in my building. There's also no web administration page, so you can't configure your Velop Wi-Fi from a computer. You need to do it through their app. That means your doing all the heavy lifting of port forwarding and such, from your phone. I'm not sure if they have an app for tablets. As far as range goes, it will do the job. You will get a strong signal as long as you are near one of the nodes. But the catch is it only extends the wireless signal for as well as it currently performs in your environment at 100% signal and you have no control over which wi-fi band it connects to, like you do with a traditional router. So if your 2.4GHz band wi-fi is terrible to begin with at 100% signal, I suggest you stay very far away from this unless you want buyer's remorse. I can only recommend the Velop wi-fi 3-pack to users, most especially with wi-fi dead spots in their home, that have great consistent connection in terms or speed and reliability on both 2.4 and 5.0GHz band with a traditional router at 100% signal. This mesh router will be music to your ears since it will be capable of extending your wi-fi range through your house with minimal signal loss. I can't stress this enough but this router isn't 5.0GHz friendly. I suspect it recognizes when a device is a phone and connects it to the 2.4 GHz band to prioritize distance. It just doesn't offer the flexibility and power administrators want to manually control these connections. I'll be putting all my wireless devices back on my EA9500 because it clearly outclasses the more expensive, less admin-friendly Velop.

Great Wi-Fi Network with Poor Software
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I received the Velop three-node Wi-Fi network, I had dead spots in my home where I could not use the Internet. The Velop "mesh" network solved that issue. LinkSys put a lot of thought into the system's design and packaging. Each router node is a sleek, white tower with a small footprint, smaller than 3" x 3" and about 8" tall. The issues are with the LinkSys software--not the hardware. You must download an iPhone or Android app to set up the network. In principle, this sounds good, but in practice, the app behaves more like beta software than a complete software product. I easily downloaded the app and started to set up my W-Fi network. But when I looked ahead to the next step, I got stuck and had to start all over. It took about 15 minutes to set up the network. First, you set up the first node. When it is active, you place the second node in another location, and it connects to the first one. When the second node is active, then you place the third node in another location and it connects to the network. Sounds simple. The problem came when I tried to connect two wireless HP printers. By the way, I am pretty tech savvy and have done this many times before. But Velop did not "see" my printers or showed them as inactive, and the app has no way of deleting a device. I started an online chat with LinkSys to solve the printer connection issue. They directed me to a dedicated Velop tech support phone line. After almost two hours with the tech support guy doing a remote session on my laptop, the network and printers were functional. The system is great, but the software is not. Thus, I cannot give it more than 3 stars.

Great connection speed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as it is a true mesh system versus a point to point system. I did a direct wire set up between nodes so that all 3 bands were available for wifi connections. There were not any instructions on how to do this, only a small video on the website the suggested it. I had to call Linksys support for installation help but they were very helpful and open 24/7. Speeds are testing great and coverage is good too. I got to nodes for 3,600 sq ft.

Solved WiFi issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live in a large house with 3 levels with 12 devices all accessing WiFi. We had used a wireless modem and extender to try to increase the range and speed we were experiencing and it resulted in a slight improvement. We would still get dropped signals and slow performance when many devices were accessing at once. Since installing the Velop system the speed is faster than ever even when one is playing Xbox and multiple TVs are accessing Netflix. Every room in the house is the same now.

Starting out w/ Mesh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read a number of reviews on the Linksys system and many stated that the system didn't perform as adequately as other systems at various price points. All I can say is that the system was super easy to set up with a simple iphone app and that we have blazing fast internet throughout our entire house. I had previously looked at 2 node systems and found that we had a dead spot in a corner of our house due to metal. With this system and the 3 nodes that is no longer a problem.

High Use Wi Fi - Easy Setup - Excellent Coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at several options for upgrading my home wifi system. We have specific requirements, including needing the ability to video conference simultaneously on multiple devices for hours while using downloading information, streaming video, Netflix, gaming, etc. I went to our store to purchase another brand, but while I was there, I looked at the Linksys Velop again for comparison. The Linksys Velop offered three routers, which would serve my three story, 5000+SF home better, while the competitors only provided two with less coverage. The price point per unit was a better value when I considered that I would probably need to add a third router package to the competitor's model. The big question was whether or not it could perform in the way I needed it to. A knowledgeable Best Buy salesperson helped me with a pro/con list (he owned the Velop personally), and ultimately, the Linksys Velop was the winner. I had previous experience with Linksys routers, and I trusted the brand. At home, the set up was a snap, using my smart phone. You simply download the Linksys Velop app and follow the on screen directions. Anyone could do it! Set up starts with one of the router units. You simply plug the Velop unit into a wall outlet and then use the Ethernet cable (provided) and plug that right into your internet service provider's box. The app finds the Velop router unit and gets it ready for use, and then the app instructs you to place the second Velop router unit and so on with the third. Using blue-tooth and location services (which you can turn off after set up), the app helps locate the best location for each Velop router unit. All you need for the second and third routers is a surface to place the small, white tower on and an electrical outlet. The coverage is 100% in all corners of my home, even during high use times. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for excellent coverage plus easy set up.

Great range, great speeds
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I utilize this 3 pack in my house and love it. Love the range it provides and consistent speeds. Only issue I’ve seen is the potential range issues from one cello to another. Probably my own error with them being to far apart and maybe too many walls blocking each other. But for the most part, BEST router set I’ve ever had. My household does a lot of steaming and gaming on multiple counsels. Sometimes more than one at a time.

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have close to 40 devices on my home network. I also have a rather long house. Those two issues made it for my netgear router to work well. I had to constantly reboot the thing and kept loosing the connection on some devices the further away they were from the AP. Not to mention having to deal with 2 different WiFi IDs (one for the 2.4 and one for the 5). So, I finally decided to spend some serious money on a good router/network. I first purchased the Orbi system (sisnce I was already a netgear customer), and also based on the reviews. Well, I hated it. The main unit kept getting disconnected from the internet, and the satellite kept also getting disconnected from the main unit. After 24 hours of messing with that thing I gave up and took it back to Best Buy. I then decided to give Linksys a try. I took the unit home, and the setup was easier than the Orbi one. The main unit and the sat connected and all my devices are working as expected. I like the simplicity of the app. For those looking for advance networking settings, you can open an internet browser on a computer and access those settings. So after a week of having this system I can say I love it. It is simple, it gives me 5GHtz coverage in my entire house, and it just works. Plus it is a very nicely designed... so much better than the big Orbi one.
